Love my 23 Nissan Frontier Pro4x. I drove and compared it to the 23 Ranger FX4, Tacoma TRD Off-Road, Jeep Gladiator and the 23 GM twins and liked this truck over all of them. Mainly because it felt like a truck and had all of the off-road stuff I wanted. It also drives nice on road where I do most of my driving. I have almost 5,000 miles on it and it has not given me any trouble so far. It has good acceleration and the seats are very comfortable, I also love the way the dash and controls are laid out and the FENDER Sound System is one of the best sounding out there. I also love the looks of this truck.

Nice review. Great looking truck. This blue gives a nice contrast with the black trim. Such a underrated truck. Hydraulic steering is the best!!

    OK, a couple of things.
    This is NOT a 2023, it is a 2022.
Secondly, this vehicle is used - the Frontier does not come from the factory with Big O tires on it.
Third, if you don't live in snow country, you don't need 4wd. I have the Pro-X and have taken it places with other 4wd trucks without issue. 4wd also reduces fuel economy and adds complexity (and cost) to repairs and the MSRP.
They also don't come with that bed rug from the factory, that is an aftermarket accessory.
This truck also does not have the technology package (Sunroof, heated seat/mirrors, wireless charging, LED headlights, leather, Fender Audio, etc.) which is worth it in my opinion.
Having said that, I LOVE my new gen 2022 Frontier - it's relatively comfortable, decent gas mileage, plenty of power, etc. Definitely get the Fender Audio system/tech package and factory bed liner and leather.
Stearing is heavy, but that is because it is true hydrolic - which is a good thing to me - you can feel feedback from the wheels and maintain better control on and off road.
I especially love that the engine is NA, so no turbos and BS to fail - Nissan is underrated for reliability, especially when it comes to trucks, so definitely don't overlook the if considering a new truck - and don't listen to everything this guy has to say, because while I agree with most of what he says,(like how crappy the back up camera is) some of his statements are based on form (looks) and not function.

Shame the inside is so dated and has a garbage direct injection engine though.

@@ryanb3908yea they’re marketing this truck as old school reliable, but truth is, all their cars across brand and Infiniti is outdated. Seriously the laziest automaker in the industry the last decade.

I'm tired of the steering trope. It is a bit heavier but all the reviews make it sound like it unturnable at low speeds; that's just not the case. Saying it doesn't feel as responsive is the opposite of the truth. The hydraulic steering gives more positive road feedback bar none. Now, if you want to complain about the lack of turning radius, I'll agree.
    Sincerely, 2022 Frontier Pro-4X owner.
P.S. Electronic assisted steering is garbage.
