      By committing the Empire's resources and money into the two Death Stars instead of the arguably more useful TIE Defender programme that Thrawn was behind, as well as other initiatives that were arguably better on the strategic level. It says a lot about the Star Wars universe that the biggest threat the rebels have ever faced is an officer who is good at his job and treats his subordinates like worthy beings deserving of being listened to and coached to improve if they happen to misunderstand. The space wizards (both light and dark) really do need the force even just to keep up with this man and they are lucky to have quite as much plot armor as they do.

      Neither. Pre-Mind Wipe Darth Revan (it is arguable, ignoring the TOR MMO, that the 'Revan' we play as is not the real Revan mentally. After all, the 'Revan' we play as doesn't have proper recollection of his memories and had his personality rewritten, which is confirmed in KotOR I by Bastilla/Malak & indirectly confirmed in KotOR II by Zez Kai-Ell's comments on the subject).
      While the 'Revan' we play as might be more 'powerful' than his pre-mind wipe self, the pre-mind wipe self is a much better tactician, more knowledgeable, and more proficient in the Force (and also has a more comparable time frame of experience to Thrawn than post-mind wipe 'Revan').

      @@yami122 It was a small advantage yes, but Obi-wan was a much better duelist than Anakin. Anakin was very gifted in lightsaber combat but Obi-wan was just plain better. That statement was Obi-wan's attempt to convince Anakin to stand down.

      Honestly the scene was pretty poorly done where because the fight needs to end Skywalker just does a jump right next to a standing opponent with no guard whatsoever and honestly it breaks my immersion because that's just not how someone is powerful as him would act even if he's blinded by rage he would at least be swiping or doing something instead of just an unblocked slow flip@@milamberarial

    • @milamberarial
      @milamberarial Před 4 měsíci +5

      @@yami122 The fact that he is blinded by rage is exactly the point. The entire scene was showing him becoming more and more unhinged and out of control. If you notice later as Vader, he almost never loses control. Thats why Vader is a far better fighter than Anakin ever was. Obi-wan lost to Dooku for a few reasons, partly because Dooku was a duelist by specialty, he wasn't actually that good against things like blasters. And partly because Palpatine was manipulating everybody in that scene, especially Anakin. Palpatine wanted Anakin to kill Dooku. He wanted him to lose control. He knew that wouldn't happen if Obi-wan was still in the fight. Dooku was literally a worse fighter against Anakin than he was against Yoda or Obi-wan. Anakin wasn't better, Dooku was worse. Because of Palpatine. If Palpatine had been on Mustafar during the fight, Anakin would probably have killed Obi-wan too. Maybe not though, him being maimed worked for Palp's plan.

    Thrawn was fortunate that he was not around during the Clone Wars....had he been there regardless of which side he was on, Sidious would have eliminated him simply because he would have been too effective and would have unbalanced the war in his favour, destroying Sidious's plans for a long drawn out war. Thrawn would have seen the truth long before others as in a real conflict between the Republic and CIS....the CIS would have won easily by sheer numbers. He would pick up on the sudden retreats from Victory and Victories in place of where there should have been defeats

      @Hunt3rK3nw4y Před 3 měsíci

      At the time of the Clone Wars, I don't think Thrawn (or any of the Chiss afaik) would've joined the CIS or the GAR as they were from the Unknown Regions and often loved to keep to themselves heavily rather than do anything to help any wars unless it involved their territories or extra-galactic threats. In 27 BBY, Thrawn met Sidious and the two struck an agreement, after Thrawn absolutely dunked on Sidious' private task force, that Thrawn would destroy the Outbound Flight (it was full of Jedi) to prevent the Yuuzhan Vong from finding the galaxy too early. The "If" scenario for this, I believe, is if the CIS or GAR had gained a huge amount of power and technology that I think Thrawn would've struck a deal or served in either to benefit the Chiss Ascendancy in furthering their capability to defend the galaxy from the Yuuzhan Vong ("Far Outsiders" as the Chiss called 'em). As for Palpatine's schemes, I believe you'd be right on Thrawn instantly seeing through the facade but he would care less as long as his goals remain the same and the Chiss Ascendancy are benefitting from whoever to get access to greater amount of resources to fight the Yuuzhan Vong. (This is Legends lore at the least for Thrawn and his books [as well as some other Legends books. There is one definitely about the Outbound Flight but that is definitely in the Thrawn Trilogy] do a great amount of explanation on it so I won't say more to either confuse people or sound like a headless chicken :D)

    It's true. If you're not willing to degrade yourself, put aside personal desires, or do things that are uncomfortable, you're not willing to win. There's a reason real-life soldiers push on through mud, blood, boredom, a constant risk of death they have no power to prevent, and literally smelling like their own waste - they're in it to win it, or they're in it for the people fighting next to them or behind them, or both. People who fight for glory give up and back off if they get slapped too hard, people who don't care about their own gain don't.

    The glory line reminds me a lot of Darth Bane... While im not a fan of his portrayal entirely in rebels, he clearly did have some great moments. • @_PK777_
      @_PK777_ Před 3 měsíci +1

      @bobwilson679 The first thing we see of thrawn is this cringe as fuck chant of his name by the troopers. Then we see the man himself, fat as fuck, not intimidating at all. At least they could have done the service of using his signature theme (one of, if not my favourite in star wars) but nah fuck that, instead we get some stupidly loud thing. Then we learn that Thrawn hasn't fucking found ezra after 10 years on the same planet, and with Ezra having been on the same fucking ship as thrawn when they came to Peridia. He has access to witches that can detect force users through space, and Imperial survey equipment like probe droids etc. That's just the first few minutes of his appearance

    • @bobwilson679
      @bobwilson679 Před 3 měsíci

      @@_PK777_ First of all, really? "Then we see the man himself, fat as fuck, not intimidating at all." MY GUY, THAT'S THE SAME DUDE. The guy who voices Thrawn here is the SAME GUY who plays him in Ahsoka. They chose to have the original voice actor play the role, rather than bringing in some buff dude who sounds nothing like him. I think that was absolutely the right move.
      Secondly, why would Thrawn bother spending time and resources hunting Ezra? From a tactical perspective, what good would hunting down Ezra during his time in exile do? It would not further his goal to get home, and if he sent out squadrons of troopers, any individual squadrons that encountered Ezra would have been killed. Keep in mind he did not have unlimited stormtroopers and ships at his disposal, he only had what was on his Star Destroyer when he got exiled. Ezra did not pose a threat on his own, and as Ezra said, it would have been suicide for him to try to assault the temple alone, so Ezra would not have been able to stop his plan alone. Only when there were two more Jedi was Ezra then a credible threat, and even then Thrawn was smart enough to know he likely couldn’t kill them, only slow them down. Which he did. And he won, he got away and went home.
      They did a good job of portraying Thrawn in Ahsoka, you are simply blinded by your hate and refuse to see it.
