Handguns are like just the hammer head of a hammer with no handle. They’re a fraction of a rifle and insanely hard to develop accuracy. If ones going to be successful in driving in a nail, it sure takes some serious skill and/or can be very particular for what works vs what is practically a useless broken tool. I appreciate and respect those who have developed such a skill. For me I don’t even pretend to think carrying is a smart idea. I know there’s people who absolutely have been misled by firearm marketing to think they’re safer by carrying but in reality…ya know what I’m sayin.
I’m just rambling but saw that ‘don’t leave home without it’ and thought that’s not necessarily true for everyone like yourself who has put in the work to develop the most important side of handguns- the skill to drive a nail with just the head of a hammer- so to speak. Word

@@audimaster5000 Reasonable "gun battle accuracy" can be easily taught if you have the right teacher. I've taught hundreds of people, many of whom had never shot a pistol. I'd also prefer that anyone who has practiced significantly with a firearm to be carrying it at all times regardless of laws. I'm not interested in firearm or other marketing. (And I've never been sold a product by an ad, or a phone call, or a door-to door salesman. I approach everything in life as a problem to be solved, and then I either research until I find a solution or I make my own solution) I do probably have a bias based on shooting an average of 10,000 rounds per year if you combine rifle, pistol, and shotgun rounds, as well as having grown up in a situation where we hunted or fished for or raised and killed our food, and also having had many shots fired at me while serving in the Army.

@@audimaster5000I see what your saying but the reason you carry a pistol over a long arm is practicality. Sure your underpowered and overmatched compared to a rifle but your still lethal. That's a hell of a lot better than being unarmed and helpless and the reason you carry a firearm to begin with is for just in case you need it. If you have it with you all the time your whole life and never end up needing it than what harm have ya caused? Now ask yourself what happens if that one time in your entire life you actually need one and don't have it. Remember. You only gotta buy it once. You don't have to feed or water it, it's easy to hide and doesnt take up much space. I feel that no harder than it is to keep it with you a person should carry. Lots of people that are still alive today because them or someone around them were carrying.

But living in Florida now, I carry the 29. Perfect for 2 and 4 legged threats. In the Navy I was issued the M9, and transitioned to the Sig 226, never had a problem with either. They were just a bit "heavy". The 29 answers my particular needs for power and concealed carry. As far as getting on and staying on target, the 19 is the best call. 10 mm ammo can be a pain to find at times, but I think it is making a resurgence. I just prefer a sub-compact. PS-make no mistake, contracts go to the lowest bidder. All of the above are reliable and will preform well in the right hands. Happy Holiday's and God Bless.

I’ve been watching Hickok since I was a young teenager loved guns but never owned one… that changed this week and I went with a Glock 19 gen5. Thank you for all the years of knowledge and entertainment.

I carry my G48 when hunting mostly and sometimes in public if im wearing a belt. I prefer to carry the G43 if im not hunting. I love my G48, plus it has a rechargeable laser light, which works great in the woods in the early morning and night. Only problem I have is half my magazines are Glock, and the other half are Shield Arms, so I havent decided if I want to put the steel mag catch in yet (I have a steel and aluminum one).

I agree on keeping my Glock 19 given those choices. I own or have owned many of the same Glocks. However, I would choose my Glock 48 for the slimmer grip if Glock factory mags were available with a few more rounds of ammo (13+ vs. 10).

Owning every model glock is a goal of mine. 34, 30, 19 and 17 already acquired.
Only problem I've ever had was self-inflicted. Experimented with springs and different powder loads on 34 (competition gun) and got stove pipes during practice/testing.

What about 3d printed frames? Since you can have weird combinations like a 17 frame with a 26 slide or even a 33rnd mag long handle for a 26.
Maybe you should do a follow up telling us about what you think would work in the realm of 3d printed frames?

I have a G43 subcompact 9mm and a G21 Gen4 standard .45 Auto. The G43 I have in an Uncle Mike's size 4 inside-the-pocket holster and put it into my front right pocket. The G21 Gen4 I have in a Galco Miami Classic II shoulder system. I use Hornady Critical Defense ammunition in both. Can't really imagine giving up either. I have a motorcycle as a daily rider and always ride alone. A man needs a way of defending himself if things go sideways.
