- This week we review the 2022 BMW M240i X-Drive and try to work out whether it is a better package than the BMW M440i.
This new BMW M240i has grown in to a refined daily driver with plenty of get up and go. It's all wheel drive grip means that the 375hp and 500NM is now transferred to the road with ease making this an almighty car point to point.

10500 miles in mine since March . Still loving it, managed to snag a nearly fully loaded car for £43k, so much value for money .

Well it does have better interior, upgraded zf and it's faster as well. Looks wise, both are flawed

Outstanding review !! I absolutely love my M240i I every area . It scratches that itch for me. Best way to describe this car would be I always look for the longest way to my destination. My only complaint and it’s not the cars fault is that it’s very hard for me to keep my finger off the sport plus button 👍🏻👊🏻

I’ve done 10500 in mine so far and I reckon 9000 of those miles has been in sports plus

What I always tell everyone is, go and test them both back to back that will be the best way. Both great cars!

@@Motorflix ya i feel like the brakes and suspension were purposefully softened a bit to make room for the M2…. The engine dominates this cars driving experience. Its essentially an M440i for a lot less money! Same engine, same chasis, similar size, identical interior. Weird for BMW to make a car that competes with its own models
I agree I’ve had mine nearly year and have to agree the brakes are rubbish period; the only thing worse is the stock stereo which is beyond bad. As for performance it’s a sub 4 second car all day which is bonkers it will embarrass a lot of cars of the line. Apart from the engine it’s a very sterile car without emotion which is a shame.
You should have launched it. 0-60 at least
Maybe I should have, I only didn’t as lots of others have. So can safely say it will do less than claimed by BMW. 👍🏻
I have a 2022 m440i and I find it wayyyyy better looking than this car. Just bc the grill is big I don’t get how people discard the whole car lol. I mean look at the rear light of this car, I find it hideous. M440i so much sleeker than the m240i and also comes in RWD.
But that’s just my opinion lol. Great review!

M440i has the grill only a mother can truly love.
Just another review that compares this to the previous m2… it’s kinda annoying at this point. Why hasn’t anyone properly compared this car to the previous m240i?? That comparison would’ve made so much more sense yet I struggle to find a good one on CZcams, and it’s been a year since this gen 2 series was released
The reason for this is…. I own an M2. (Film coming soon) so makes sense to make a film against a car I know. Would you not agree? I haven’t driven the old M240i so can’t make that comparison! 🤷🏻♂️

It makes sense for you but no one seems to be comparing it like for like with either the previous 240i or genuine competitors like the S3 or A35. It’s either set up against RS3s or A45s which I find annoying.
Better looking than the M440? yes, better looking than the M4? No.

@@Motorflix it’s an amazing car, I had a 2021 430i sold it at a very good price given the car shortage situation and bought a 2022 M240i, of course it’s on a different level than the 430i when it performance, but it’s also better looking IMHO and just more fun of a car.

Disappointing. I expected a rational explanation about the 240 vs 440. But is a matter of style and front grill. Your title saus better of not Waste of my time.
I didn't ask you to watch this free content that is served up to you by people that put a lot of time and effort in to it! They are basically the same car underneath built on the same platform. So if you knew anything about cars then it is is a matter of style and front grille so not a waste of your time! I'd love to see your review?.........
