Whatever combination of drum sound samples he’s using at the 30 second mark are owning me! That kit sounds like it punches its mother in the face right before school everyday. Love it! Definitely gonna be recreating that on mine.

Michael, how you changed the sound (or sampler, whatever it's called) after 0.22 ? with your leg?
jasast69 you can use a guitar bass pad (whatever it is called) and create a Midi signal to change things when you press it.
I don't know how it works as i dont own the kit.
jasast69 a very simple foot switch connectd to the footswitch input on the SPDSX. No MIDI switcher needed. Simple!
I'm not even going to attempt to wrap my head around those samples, but wow, that was awesome!

Back in the 90s I worked at Guitar Center and was asked to demo the Tama Cage. Back then e-drums were much younger, but I set up Pearl's e-drum kit as the left side of this monster, a Tama acoustic flagship on the right and an (original version) Octapad by Roland overhead. The Pearl kit was only used as a Midi trigger and was all bass guitar notes except the bass drum, which was a snare drum sound. The Octapad was set to midi some muted violin notes which were then run through a guitar processor. The whole thing was surrounded with a high-end PA facing out in all directions (remember the massive Tama cage?!!!) and I had a mic boom stand coming down from my left from the ceiling bars.
I played Whitesnake's "In the Still of the Night" by myself. People crowded around to watch! You recall back then drummers were more than upset with drum machines hitting the shelves and becoming so popular - they thought they were being replaced. This was my bold answer to that fear, with full backing from pretty much all of the drum and cymbal companies we dealt with - which was a lot. It was fun!
...and here I am, just first baby-stepping my way into becoming an e-drummer myself! Damn, is it ever fun!!!

I'm going to be honest: that was much better than I expected.
I bought a roland td 25kv and I went from an acoustic to electric. When I had my Acoustic kit, I hat 2 hi hats (my main one, and a permanently closed one that i could play while rocking the double bass) So i bought a second hi hat for my roland kit, but I cant have the second hit hat closed pertinently. It mimics the main hi hat. I asked Roland directly and they told me I cant have 2 hi hats with 1 closed and the other open, (i also asked them the same question im asking you, but no reply) Can I have a second closed hi hat with the roland 30 and or the roland 50? or do you know if i can use the TM-2 to fix my problem? If you know please respond. Thanks

Yo! Cool vid guys but I've tried several Roland TD-30 USB MIDI Drivers and none of them are working for me. I also have a TD-30 (not a kv) and want to record MIDI drums in my Logic Pro X. I'm currently running MacOS High Sierra (10.13.2). After installation of the drivers and connection of the module to the computer, the drum module is not recognized by the computer. I have the right USB Type B cable. What am I missing? Based on the stuff I'm working with which of the drivers do I need to get or what settings do I need to do?
