I would love a POV drive with the stroker on a proper twisty road

I have mostly been a on call mechanic and alway keep a tool box with common use tools with me, have others large boxes with rare use tools. My main box is a Park 83333 that has a random set of 3/8 socket in deep, semi deep, shallow, silm in mostly metric that fit in the top short slots. Also have 17-24, 27 and 30~36mm 1/2 deep sockets tucked away in the bottom with a oil pressure sensor socket. In the top log slot is wrenches up to 16mm and throw a few larger ones in the bottom out the way over the 1/2in sockets. Also in the bottom will be a 3lbs small full metal hammer, chisel, short 1/2in braker bar, 3/8 ratchet, hose clamp pliers, spark plug pliers, channellock, needle nose pliers, linemans pliers, few extensions, few screw drivers, hex/star bit strip, 1/2in cv swival, 3/8 cv swivel, 1/2 to 3/8 impact adaptor and 3/8 to 1/2in adapter. This keeps me with the primary tools I need and have a 7 drawer snapon slide top tool cart that this tool box can be set in. Think with this small tool box, if it fit it ship and yes it will waigh as much as a lead brick.

    Hey Pamo,
I think that it was very brave to talk about your situation regarding your career and financial position during COVID, and it is absolutely amazing to hear you can now call yourself a self thought car mecanic. Old old stuff is the best! I know from experience. I used to be an aircraft mechanic at a shop that restored and maintained WW2 aircraft.
As COVID hit I also found myself without a job and my E36 plans being put on pauze. I still haven't found a job yet but it is video's like this one that remind me that anything can happen and there is light at the end of the tunnel. I really want to thank you for the video's as they brighten up my day! And even though I am a E36 enthousiast myself, I'd love for you to try and persuade me into the Honda stuff aswel.
As for the E36, I am still very much interested in and end result dyno. I was collecting parts for my stroker build aswel but I am now considering swapping in an M54B30, as it would produce 241HP. The downside would be that you can not run things like ACS and ABS because the ECU wouldn't be able to do it. If the stroker produces some serious power, I woud still considering building an M50B30. Also, a long drive or road trip would still be cool to see. I'd say take it to the Nürburgring and record the occasion. Maybe a driving vlogging style video! If you decide you want to go to the ring, it might be a cool idea to let your subscribers know so they can come and meet you, like a mini event, if COVID allows it ofcourse.
Again great to hear that it's all going well and you've settled in properly. Keep the vids comming!
(PS, I was so not ready for that beard. Although I will say it looks amazing so I'd say keep it and you'll get fond of it ;-). )

Definitely a DIY on the wheel bearing job for the stroker. There’s really no good videos out there for e36 wheel bearings. Glad you got things settled in your new home and found work! Your videos are a great resource! Hope your new job continues to go well.

Thanks for the update. I love your channel not only for the content, but also because you sound like a really nice guy. I like that you share your failures as well as successes. I’m glad you’re not trying to create professional CZcams channel out of it with crazy theme songs and sponsorships and shit.
Can you share what you are up to in your new job? Maybe you can be the “video guy” in your work place if the employer is up for it?
Also I’d like to see what’s your process with sm41 tuning. I’ve tried it a bit, but gave up very soon. It seems like it takes a LOT of time for good results. I don’t have a lot of time to fuck around with softwares and inconsistent results. Just writing about it right now frustrates me.

      Thank you Tiit..
The tuning is very frustrating and still causes me days that make me question my sanity. My setup is most likely far from optimal.... But it drives 85-90% of what I expect - seems to "feel" happy and I suppose for real world enjoyment, that's enough to keep me happy for now.
Regarding my job, I spend most days grafting, covered in lashings of underseal, servicing, repairing and loving classics. Last week I serviced an mgb roadster, a Morgan and repaired (welded) some patches onto a badly repaired MGB gt which had seen too much fibreglass. Today I believe a sill repair is on the cards on another mgb and we are currently finishing a restoration on a MG midget (need a new clutch line).
I would like to keep work and play separate online for now... But maybe down the line I can share more.
      Thanks for your support 👍

Top man, congrats on the job well done. I'm in the process of swapping to an M3 drivetrain on my 328 and found your videos very useful, thank you. A stroker build will be on the cards at some point but for now any content on what you're doing/done on it would good to see. Thanks for the real content it's all useful.

i would like a vid on whether it was worth the hassle for the stroker. I have a m52tub28 and was thinking about this. Can you feel a noticeable gain in power and torque on the butt dyno?

    • @ManSeeksCivic
      @ManSeeksCivic  Před 3 lety +1

It's quite a bit more lively... But it's not world changing. It's slightly slower than the m3 but not a whole lot. It was worth it purely for the experience though.

Congrats on the move and really glad things worked out with the dream job. Been following specifically for the stroker build. Thank you for all the effort and detail you went into while doing it as it's helped me build the confidence and knowledge i'm going to need for when i rebuild my M52B28 as soon as i can find an iron block so i can rid myself of that aluminum nightmare. Do you plan to keep it NA or have you considered boosting it? Keep up the good work!
