Abby - you are correct. Birds do add items suck as shells, berries and stick to their nest only for decoration to attract a mate and when sitting on their eggs. I learned something new. ❤ Another reason why I love this podcast.
Yes which if i remember correctly also the same as penguins and bunnies too!! Penguins do so with pebbles for their mates and then continue into nesting and bunnies continues to add fluff and other things to the nest
Matt saying, “Your emotions are welcome here.”-reassuring and makes an environment for Abby to feel safe and to be her beautiful sweet self. Darling couple. Having moments with your family that are precious memories being built.
Matt is definitely a ppl pleaser, Abby. He was gonna say “life isn’t what he expected” and she got sad. And then he changed his response! It’s okay to be honest Matt.
I thought the same thing at that part haha!!
Minutes?
There’s a difference between a people pleaser and a wife pleaser 😂

I love the fact that Abby cries every episode, it's nice to have someone be stimulated by simple things.
She is literally pregnant. She cries because of the hormones.
@@LL-wu5uipeople don’t only cry because of pregnancy. It just shows she’s really passionate about what she’s talking about. Sometimes it may be the hormones, but not always and you don’t need to say it’s only because if it
@@LL-wu5uiyou think every pregnant woman cries all the time?
She's pregnant 🤷
@@LL-wu5uiI didn't cry in my pregnancy lol
Abby! I'm also a first time parent and our babies are a few days a part. You're totally right about the sadness that comes with their birthday. Everyone talks about how we should cherish the time and how quick it goes, but no one talks about the profound sense of sadness that comes when they do hit these milestones. Which isn't to say we aren't excited for them and want to celebrate with them, but the flip side is that those moments are now gone. Helping our tiny humans grow is such a rollercoaster and I feel like as parents we do nothing but grow alongside them. Thank you SO MUCH for even mentioning this because it should be normalized and talked about more ❤
The episode is not complete without Abby crying her eyes out every time! I love her! 🤣❤️
I love how Matt is so supportive of her having her family there and how Abby is like “I want you’re parents to move in too!” So sweet and refreshing to see a couple fostering close relationships! And so refreshing to see a family who CAN be that close! I know so many who it would be a terrible idea, but this is great!!
baby name reveal at 43:45 😌👼🏻
Gus is also an adorable nickname! Gus & Griffin is adorable. Congrats ❤
I noticed your comment about saving people over animals, I work in animal protection and I just thought I would add some thinking points to this comment. This is meant as informative / food for thought:
It’s important to save / protect animals for a number of reasons;
1. Our planet requires ecosystems to function correctly, without correct ecosystems, that includes flora and fauna we will not survive.
2. Animals deserve our guardianship and husbandry, they do not have a voice that we can understand, there are so many animals that are suffering because of industrial decisions of humans, people who are advocating for animals are acting for their rights that they cannot protect.
3. Animals are proven to be sentient beings, they have emotions, they feel pain and they can feel fear, distress and perform complex tasks. They are deeply vulnerable to human activity such as mining, deforestation, fishing etc if we let everyone do what they want in nature and not care what happens to all creatures, this planet will die. Each creature exists on earth for a reason, as each one dies off, the lower our chance of environmental recovery is
4. Domesticated and farmed animals require us humans to help them, we have bred them to be dependent on us, they cannot thrive on the street or in feral populations. Stray cats and dogs spread disease, suffer from malnutrition, get into fights, suffer from severe animal abuse due to overpopulation and fear of disease. As humans we are 100% at fault for what is happening to our domestic and farmed animals around the world. They didn’t choose to become this way, we have created animals for a purpose that need us to protect them. Just as an interesting fact 75% of the world’s dog population are stray. This is why rescuing, spay / neuter and vaccination programs are essential.
I hope this helps explain if not for ethical reasons, for the ecological reasons why animal protection is critical. Humans should 100% receive help but we are not the only living beings on this planet, and we cannot survive without all creatures being happy and healthy. Congratulations on your new baby and I wish you much health and luck in the coming months.
75%?!?! 😢 I’m literally bawling crying. Hardcore ugly cry! Poor pups ❤ I’ll be giving Tobi (my very precious 6 year old mini schnauzer) some extra lovins tonight. I lost my twin girls 16 days apart then found out it was bc I had 4 types of cancer and was whisked in for a for an emergency full, radical hysterectomy. So I’ll never have the chance to be a mommy…
which is what I’ve wanted since I started babysitting at 12 (SO young at the time, I don’t know how anyone’s mama would trust me with thier children when I was TWELVE years old! 🤣😂🤣) now I teach Sunday school, I’m auntie to all my friends children. But basically bc of that Tobi is soooo spoiled! He IS my baby! Anyone who says “it’s just a dog” definitely do NOT understand MY situation. But I love all the info… it just makes me so sad. 75 friggin% ?!?!?Heartbreaking!!! ❤️🩹 Thank you for the education ❤ I know I really appreciate it! ❤
Multi-generational households have been a thing for 1000s! Families used to get along and support each other. I think it's awesome you guys are able to create this life for your family! Blessings!❤
i teared up when you announced the name!! auggie is the main character in one of my all time fav childhood books! i love you guys and i’m so excited for both of you!
WONDER
August and Griffin are spectacular names for ur children. Very strong, classy and vintage. I love the names! Great choices!
I wear my emotions on my sleeve and both my pregnancies I cried A LOT!! It is nice to see someone else who is also not afraid to show their emotions ❤
Auggie and Griffin, Griffin and Auggie - so adorable! Rolls of the tongue so nicely and it sounds like a title for a cute cartoon show. EXCITED FOR BABY #2!
Abby I love the way you gently stand up (sitting down!) for yourself & how you think and feel. Matt is always going to be ruthlessly honest and that is going to be a steady reliable. I’m v emotional like you (all the time, all my life). You are male & female & there will always be differences and not always (if ever) alignments in thoughts, feelings, wants. Women need to feel and be proud of the way they are, same with men, each honouring & respecting the differences whether of gender or character, no steamrolling please! I haven’t seen Griffin properly yet so am looking forward to seeing a birthday video (🎉🎉🎉). Good luck for the birth all of you, didn’t realise it was so imminent. Keep hydrated in the hot weather, put those feet up Abby! Lovely to have family around to help & to share in it all ❤🥰❤
My daughter was 25lbs when she was just under 10months. She's now approaching 14 months and I just had my second baby (boy)on the 4th of July at 36+6 weighing a tiny 5lb 12oz and she suddenly feels giant. Absolutely loving being a mum to two ❤️ I love your name choice !
my son is 20 lbs at 6 months !
I can’t wait to see baby August, Griffin is going to be such a good big brother. Y’all are going to be such good parents. Here is when they talk about 42:12. I love the fact that Matt was saying the first name and started slowly saying the middle, and last name
Seriously the most refreshing and real podcast out there. I really believe that you guys are helping so many people with this podcast. From parents to marriages to people who just need a smile on their face. We all love you guys thank you for putting out this content 💜
It’s like you announced griffen yesterday!! I’m so happy for you guys!!! ❤🫶
Mothers need a 'village', it's so natural to be with our elders and support each other. Parenthood isn't inherently hard, it's todays society that makes it so, because we don't have communities! You guys are amazing x
My mother in law lived with me for awhile. It seems like such a taboo here considering it is normal practice in so many different cultures. It really does take a village
Yes, I love this. I felt so guilty asking for help when my kids were super little, I definitely felt the pressure like I was supposed to be able to do it all on my own.
@kellienicole3469 I feel this way too. Like I chose I to have kids, so I shouldn't need much help with them. Then in other cultures it would be expected for everyone to help. Because they just do.
I agree!! A lot of the elders in my relatives are stuck and a childlike mentality and a lot of times it best to care for them from a distance.. I wouldn’t even consider them family. But then all the weight falls on me. There’s no village. It makes me appreciate myself in a whole another level. And my relationship with god is just flourishing. So I would say it’s a hard win but a win overall.
Yes! My mom passed away when my daughter was a year old, and I’d give anything to have had her there. It’s awesome that Abby’s parents are able to be there everyday! ❤
My parents moved in with us when I had my son and I’m so glad for it! I felt into a chronic (out of nowhere) depression and the being here for me (physically and for moral support and love) probably saved my life.
They left after almost 5 months when I was on my feet and on my way to recover!
In another note it’s ok to be in “hiatus” relationship when kids are little but be careful and monitor your couple relationship often because if you don’t nourish it often it can go south and just being focused on the kids. Make sure to talk about your feelings for each other and have special dates and romantic get aways. Best of luck to you guys!! 👶🏼 🍼👶🏼
I LOVE IT!!!!! August and Griffin go great together!! Love you guys!
OH MY GOSH!!! Time flew by so quickly!! ❤ I cant believe how quick the time has passed since Griffin!! I'm so happy and excited for you guys!! 🥳 Can't wait to meet BABY #2!! 🤫
This podcast brings so much joy to me!!! I don't want kids but I love seeing people happy!!! Seeing Abby and Matt so happy and being vulnerable throughout the years is amazing.
You guys are such an amazing and beautiful couple!!!
I truly love this podcast so much! I love driving while listening because it feels like I’m chatting with friends! You guys seem like such awesome and genuine people. I LOVE the new baby name and I’m sure it will fit him perfectly!!!
I lived with my parents when my kids were younger, i think the more the merrier. My kids are 30 and 33, so im an empty nester. Love you guys ❤
Abby you just opened my eyes and saved me. “You can’t be 100% all the time for your kids but everyone can be 100% for a little while” I feel terrible asking for help, and what you said now makes me feel like asking for help is actually what’s best for my child regardless of how hard that is for me. I have 2 kids, 13 months apart also (Currently 17 months and 4 months) I’m so thankful for your insight, sending my oldest with Grandma today and making it a point to not feel guilty. ❤
The name you’ve selected has so many possibilities for when the little one is grown. August Jacob might someday be AJ - so many options!
Great podcast! Love listening to your honesty, innocence, and zest for life!❤️
So thankful you have all that help. The Lord blessed us with 6 children. The first 5 were in 9 years. Our families lived in different states. We had no help. The kids are now amazing adults. We did it! Families are so important! Bless you!
‘Gus’ as a nickname is so sweet as well🙈🙈🙈🙈🌸🌸🌸🌸 Love the name you guys!!!!
Hands up if you love the babies that they have new and soon to come and everything else in this ❤❤
😊 this was precious. I love how left field some of these conversations went, but it was definitely worth the watch! My goodness, congratulations to you both and blessings and prayers your way. ❤
❤ So excited for little August Jacob Howard! He will have the best parents and brother. They will be so close. Can't wait to see his little face and see his personality come to life. Ya'll are the best.❤😀
Love itt ❤
I had a feeling you would name the baby after a month or a day 🤭❤
Congratulations you two 🎉
You could also call him AJ once he’s older!! It’s a more grown up nickname, especially for a teenage boy :)
You are so blessed to be able to cohabitate with your parents! Three different times our daughter and her family shared the same home with us. It’s a great experience!
It truly makes the saying it takes a village to bring up kids so true. What a special time for griffen having his grandparents around.
I love Auggie... when he becomes an adult, he can go by 4 names...... August, Auggie, Jacob, or even AJ (if he wants).
you spoiled it 😢
I did t even think of Aj smart
@@beaujoe123... Not sure why you would do the comment section knowing that someone's going to give away things. Watch the episode and then go to comments...
even Gus

One of our sons is Tobias and we planned on calling him Toby. 💙When we first brought him home, his 21 month old sister heard us saying both names. She started calling him Toby-bias. That's still a nickname almost 5 yrs later 💞
My nephews name is Tobias and we call him Toby
August is such a special month to me, I love that you are naming your son that! 💙
i love how sweet you guys are!! you guys are so wholesome and i have loved watching and listening to these podcasts!! i can’t wait to see the new baby!! praying for you and your family!! ❤
I have been watching you guys since u started CZcams and love all the videos and podcasts you make! You guys are my favorite CZcamsr and I pray that you continue to do so well. Thank you!
They are one of my favorite CZcams also. 🩵
I also love there close friends Bella and Dallin.💜
Two great CZcams couples.🤍
I would love for you guys to take personality tests and talk about it!! That sounded fun!!
Families were designed to raise kids all together! So happy you guys are able to do this with your parents💞
i’m so excited to see videos with the new baby and also for y’all to have a cute family channel with griffin and augie, that name is adorable!!!! y’all are going to be amazing parents of 2 and i’m praying for you guys and your family! ❤️
I knew it was gonna be August! August is definitely your vibe! And ut goes so well with Griffin
I'm literally so jealous. I'm married with a toddler. We have absolutely no help from family. My hubby and I haven't had a break since he was born, almost 4 years ago. DON'T take your family and help for granted. 💜💜
hang in there! my husband and I never had family help with our three, youngest now in college, and we found it really brought us closer as a couple because we only had each other to rely on. it is challenging but get creative about date nights! you can do it!
I love watching you guys… i learn at least one thing from your episodes whether its about my baby, my relationship or just life advice. Sending love to you guys 🥹🫶🏻
You guys are so cute! I love that Abby is so pregnant that she is tired and yawning through this whole episode. 😋 Love that you get to have your parents there Abby! What a blessing that is for all of you!💕☺️
Cute name! He may also like being called AJ too which is super cute!
My kids are super close in age like griffin and the new baby. My mother in law lived with me for awhile and it was a huge help I didn’t know I needed. It really does take a village. It really seems like just yesterday griffin was born and now here you are right around the corner from having this beautiful new baby. Embrace the cheesy Matt, you’re a parent so it’s a requirement 😂
Guys yall are so amazing so of course those babies are gonna be epic!! Congrats on the new baby in the family! Can't wait to see their birth vlog! K love yall!
Certainly one can list pros & cons to nearly every single living arrangement scenario. Speaking as someone who just only recently moved with my son out of my parents home after 18 years, yes there were hurdles but honestly one day I will look back on that time period as being a gift. My parents are pretty awesome and I’m blessed to have spent extended time in their company. You can never get time that has passed, back. Enjoy the chaos 😊
When I clicked on this video my VERY FIRST THOUGHT was “it’s gonna be Jacob, I can totally see them having a Jacob” 😂🤩 I loveeee love love the first and middle names together! So happy for your little family 🥹🥰💕
He could also go by AJ if he wants as he gets older 🎉
Its a blessing to be on the same page- to need and enjoy the same things.
Love the name!So sweet and timeless.
I love this! Congrats 🎉
Love the name! My 4 year old is August too, the best boy ever! So clever, smart and amazing❤️
Been watching y’all since the beginning. It’s great to watch y’all grow. I remember y’all considered living farther away from family when Abby was pregnant with Griffin and y’all were leaving Hawaii. All the moms that follow y’all said, stay near family! It takes a village! I was one of those people. I’m so glad to hear that Abby’s parents live with y’all and I bet Matt’s family joins y’all soon. I love it! I’ve always loved the multi-generation living and think it truly takes a village. Love y’all!
Thank you guys for this episode. Even if I like that you bring all kind of guests on the podcast, I enjoy the ones with you and your family members the most 😊😊
Matt, Abby, Griffin, and Auggie🥰 I am SO SO SO happy for you guys. your kids are so blessed to be able to grow up and learn from amazing people. Just know that you inspire so many people, including me. I’ve been following you guys since day one, and I’m so excited and so happy to see the little family you guys have grown. In case you needed a reminder, you guys are amazing parents. You are raising Griffin so well and I already know how much love will be given to Auggie. Wishing you the best💗
This is such a sweet comment!! Thank you so much for watching & following along throughout this journey!

people thrive best in little villages. Even us introverts need others sometimes. I LOVE what you are doing and that you are showing people here in America that extended family isn't inherently bad.
Your boys are Augie and Finn. Just too cute
Love you guys!!❤❤❤
I truly pray you guys are still growing in your faith and actively learning from and encouraging a local church. Xoxo.
Praying for you and a safe delivery!

Just love how genuine you both are❤
I think your parents moving in is a blessing cause your pregnant and you need it . Also it's helpful to more than just griffin to be around your parents cause it helps keep them young I read that it can help keep them from getting demtia and such like that when they are older

The village is definitely something I’m glad y’all have. We have 3 adults in the house and live on a family ranch and it has been amazing. Also the name August is very cute. My sons name is Augustus and we call him Gus or Goose, none of us have called him Augie though.
