I think the band was so baaaaad that it affected Marc's performance, and yet he still pulled it out of the gutter with sheer will power and talent. Way to go Marc, you are extremely talented and brilliant. Rock on !!!! Or, Opera On I should say ; )
@suskistube theres a very nice version of him singing this where its a little over 6 minutes because before he sings he talks about his vocal history and musical influences---its got like 117 thousand some odd views right now and if you search for marc martel nessun dorma it will come up. its very nice and his pronunciation is still spot-on
Fantastic vocal performance by Marc! ...such a pity about the brass though, bad pitching and clumsy...would've thought at such a high profile event the best players would've been asked to play...and to support one of the best vocalists alive!
Having heard this , I am quite proud of my own Karaoke version. Mark has a great vocal range. However, I must admit that the brass band did him no favors and he probably would have performed it better with a good orchestra or even a backing track.
For the people hating. This a guy who most likely taught himself how to sing versus being formally trained. He is nowhere near trained enough to actually get a part in an opera. It's the Salvation Army band. It's not an actual symphony. Some people on here come across as people who would listen to a 7th grade school band and rip it needlessly apart. I was more annoyed with the lack of syncing up between the sound and video.

He had.. A little bit after he discovered his voice whene he was young and. He have a lot and a lot of technical.. Now he is just practicing his voice all the time and he gonna be known I pray for that
he never had a vocal lesson only a piano lesson when he was young. But after he got ill on Germany tour in 2020, he had to train his voice again, and this time he got himself help from a vocal coach.
Good Job Marc. This not in original key, its a little lower because of all the brass but still good for the style he sings it in. This is way better than the Michael Bolton's version. I have sung this in concert and it is a difficult piece no matter who you are.
He has a fine voice, but he is not operatically trained. He could actually hurt himself straining the way he did in this video. Still, what a gift he has! Take good care of your pipes, Marc, and they'll last you a lifetime.
i'm with the tubeamp dude. there were pitch issues and noticible strain in some places. not that any live recording is ever truly perfect. marc has a fantastic tone and quality in his voice though.
I think the Salvation Army band should have stayed on the street corner where they came from and could have rehearsed this number before going in front of an audience and throwing Marc Martel off (though he does the best he can to redeem this unfortunately pathetic situation). It looks like at the end that he laughs a bit--can you blame him after hearing THIS??? Truthfully, I will NEVER see the Salvation Army band in the same way EVER again!!!!
Hate to be negative but I have to agree, as AWESOME as Marc's vocals are, the band sounds like they're trying to play a scottish funeral dirge in the fog.
@CrAzYKRemO I agree!! He has a great and beautiful voice, but not for opera. He can sing it very nice, but he needs some "power", he dosn't have. Like Pavarotti, or Krauss, etc.
@maxedebby Shame he's dead though. Marc doesn't do a bad job at this though. He has a good vibrato, but lacking a little bit of depth, so I agree to a point.
have to admit it, he's a spooky freddie mercury, he's awesome and his wonderful voice make him able to sing well along also this song, but definitely not. Lirica's not for him. Please don't joke with caruso, del monaco and pavarotti. It's not another match, it's another sport.
Uh, no offense to the brass section there but I've heard high school bands play better than that. WTF? that should have been performed with a huge well trained/skilled orchestra. Like London philharmonic or something. Geeze, that guy needs to be a little more selective with who he sings with. I bet that brass section plays a mean "oh when the saints go marching in" but opera, they should never try that again.
Effortless. Like butter. He literally can sing anything. What a gift!!
He has such a liquid voice.........gooey and rich. LOVE it.
Glad to see he's getting the attention he deserves after his recent QueenExtravaganza audition.
Omg
From Bohemian Rhapsody to Nessun Dorma WOW! AMAZING!
Another great voice from Montreal! WOW!
Simplemente GRANDIOSO !
I think the band was so baaaaad that it affected Marc's performance, and yet he still pulled it out of the gutter with sheer will power and talent. Way to go Marc, you are extremely talented and brilliant. Rock on !!!! Or, Opera On I should say ; )
Impressionnant :) magique Merci Marc Martel pour ta voix si superbe
great performance by the singer, the band is offfffffffff
Nice voice. Maestro Pavarotti remains the king. His was a once in a lifetime talent. The horns blow (pun intended) and drag down his performance.
The greatest singer who almost nobody seems to know about...for sure.
Wow. I saw a couple of his videos and I am a fan.
@suskistube theres a very nice version of him singing this where its a little over 6 minutes because before he sings he talks about his vocal history and musical influences---its got like 117 thousand some odd views right now and if you search for marc martel nessun dorma it will come up. its very nice and his pronunciation is still spot-on
Amazing!
[cries in Italian]
Fantastic vocal performance by Marc! ...such a pity about the brass though, bad pitching and clumsy...would've thought at such a high profile event the best players would've been asked to play...and to support one of the best vocalists alive!
WHAT A VOICE
I love your voice no matter what yr singing, but this is one of my favorites
everyone has to get there somehow. no one is born an opera singer or a master artist or a physicist. it takes time and practice.
Having heard this , I am quite proud of my own Karaoke version. Mark has a great vocal range. However, I must admit that the brass band did him no favors and he probably would have performed it better with a good orchestra or even a backing track.
You rock Mark, glad for your sudden (if late) notoriety.
That was awesome - nice to see The Edmonton Temple Band!
yes his somebody to love video led me here thumbs up
Y ale, te la canta asi sin sudar ni nada....fantastico!!!
bella la voz de este cuate queen deberia de contratarlo
New Star from Canada, Buble is nothing compared with his voice, this is the apology of Canada for Bieber!
For the people hating. This a guy who most likely taught himself how to sing versus being formally trained. He is nowhere near trained enough to actually get a part in an opera. I think that band was off.
Completely off, fair play he kept his timing and composure
I thought so too
become “freddy mercury” just piece of cake to him
Nessun dorma
Nessun dorma
Tu pure, o Principessa
Nella tua fredda stanza
Guardi le stelle
Che tremano d'amore e di speranza
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
Il nome mio nessun saprà
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
Quando la luce splenderà
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
Che ti fa mia
(Il nome suo nessun saprà
E noi dovrem, ahimè, morir, morir)
Dilegua, o notte
Tramontate, stelle
Tramontate, stelle
All'alba vincerò
Vincerò
Vincerò
Let him sing " Gethsemane" from JCS.
I'd like to know if he had rehearsed WITH the band at all.
I'd like to know if the band had ever rehearsed... ever.
Todd & Raquel Liz Forrest I'd like to think that Glenn had. *shrugs
@@ToddandRaquiForrest mic drop! Exactly what I was thinking.
'the band sucks but he did a great job overall !! it's not easy to sing pavarotti !! bravo marc !
Thumbs up if you are a Downhere fan who knew who Marc was before the Queen Extravaganza!
@valnuke agreed!
@isaveu he does have it, its cramletram (his name from backwards)
It looks like his bass guitarist on cornet!
He never had a vocal lesson...
He had.. A little bit after he discovered his voice whene he was young and. He have a lot and a lot of technical.. Now he is just practicing his voice all the time and he gonna be known I pray for that
You can tell
@@niels9047 He has said in multiple videos that he has never had voice lessons.
he never had a vocal lesson only a piano lesson when he was young. But after he got ill on Germany tour in 2020, he had to train his voice again, and this time he got himself help from a vocal coach.

@Totto87 ok i agree with you too

and what is your name and website, good sir?
He has a fine voice, but he is not operatically trained. He could actually hurt himself straining the way he did in this video. Still, what a gift he has! Take good care of your pipes, Marc, and they'll last you a lifetime.
no need to apologize, i'm sure you have a successful career in music
@pegitforme The video and audio are out of sync. Thats actually him singing. You can find the recording he did at his home here; /watch?v=jlsprPFVXHA
I think the tuning was the band.
Second only to the legend Pavarotti himself. Bravo, sir.
Hahhahahhaha Are you joking? LMAO 😂😂😂😂
His resonance is MUCH smaller than Pavarotti himself. So how can u say that? 😂😂😂
i'm with the tubeamp dude. there were pitch issues and noticible strain in some places. not that any live recording is ever truly perfect. marc has a fantastic tone and quality in his voice though.

Truthfully, I will NEVER see the Salvation Army band in the same way EVER again!!!!
@666tubeamp
The band sounds out (Uni grad, three bands, masters, four instruments).
@Yoshimur4 Sono perfettamente d'accordo!
Why does he not have his own CZcams channel :(
@666tubeamp I don't care if you have perfect pitch; there is no way you are a first-call session player with a personality like that.
@isaveu He does for his band. Do a CZcams search for: TheBandDownhere
@pegitforme Either that, or he's awesome at Japanese anime!
no no no no no no no no
Hate to be negative but I have to agree, as AWESOME as Marc's vocals are, the band sounds like they're trying to play a scottish funeral dirge in the fog.
sparkers70 you would have thought that if there was any salvaging the band’s performance the salvation army band would be a good pick
This is great. Maybe not as amazing as Pavoratti.
Really? Transposed down a while step... guess I'll have to record it too
@luckystar007 Well...that's no longer true now....
THUMBS UP if his SOMEBODY TO LOVE audition led you here after seeing bunch of his other vids. ;)
@ClackJam Yeah, by many seconds... :(
Wasn't this a salvation army band? Imagine you had to second Pavarotti on your guitar..
@CrAzYKRemO I agree!! He has a great and beautiful voice, but not for opera. He can sing it very nice, but he needs some "power", he dosn't have. Like Pavarotti, or Krauss, etc.
@666tubeamp
The band is out - completely - ironic really.
@suagrandezza
Nicely said.
Great voice but no match for the great opera singers.
Still awsome work and keep on surprising us please.
Cheers
So that's whatever happened to the Corleone town band from The Godfather!
Even that horn band sounded bad.
Love the song, like the voice, absolutely HATE the orchestra!
4 SEC DELAY :s
sem sincronia áudio e vídeo...
@maxedebby Shame he's dead though. Marc doesn't do a bad job at this though. He has a good vibrato, but lacking a little bit of depth, so I agree to a point.
Amazing performance! But yes, the sound is badly out of sync with the video.
Pavarotti si sta rivoltando. Te e quelli dietro andate a fare altro nella vita
@isaveu user/cramletram
Practice this up again and sing it with a string orchestra.
have to admit it, he's a spooky freddie mercury, he's awesome and his wonderful voice make him able to sing well along also this song, but definitely not. Lirica's not for him. Please don't joke with caruso, del monaco and pavarotti. It's not another match, it's another sport.
is it just me or is everyones video extremely out of sync ?
Jesus the band was miles off
The brass was horrible. Nice voice. But, wrong song.
non so se peggio lui o l'orchestra.... meglio quando imita freddy mercury
I love this guy voice, but he is defenitly not trained to sing opera
out of synch. please reupload.
Stay Fred Mercury' s cover. Nessun dorma is not for your voice my dear. Pavarotti is the only one who can singer this music that's it!
Wow!! Is there something he cant sing!!!
Lol he seems to be talking insted of singing, let the opera for opera singers
You might need to practice talking more if you think that was talking LOL.

Jesus the band was just amateur hour..
The band butchered that.
not his cup of tea
What is this sloppy pop interpretation in a lower key?
Sorry, but, Adam Lambert has much stronger vocals and sang it a cappella!!
Hahahahaha
Except he didn't kill it. He murdered it .
Best he sticks to immitating Feddie Mercury. This was terribly weak and his voice even cracked towards the end.
A more recent performance: czcams.com/video/tAl4ZvTOemM/video.html
The brass band sadly didn't do him any favors.
transposed down a whole step... hmmmm... stick to Queen buddy
patetic opera singer...
but amazing freddie mercury II
He has such a liquid voice.........gooey and rich. LOVE it.
@666tubeamp
The band is out - completely - ironic really.
