  • On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Arctic Cat took the snowmobile industry by surprise when they revealed the 2025 model year lineup. More details have come out since then, and I wanted to compile what I know so far and share it with everyone.
In this video, I’m discussing the “ProCross Platform”, which is the legacy chassis for Arctic Cat. With Catalyst getting all of the attention, you might think these sleds aren’t worth a look, but these models should not be underestimated.
These five models are still among the best riding and performing machines on the snow, and are an outstanding value. The Yamaha engines that these sleds are outfitted with are among the most reliable in the industry and they’ll last a long, long time.
While the turbocharged RR, Thundercat and Riot are for advanced riders, there are also models for beginner and intermediate riders.
Here’s the video link I promised:

Disclaimer: I'm creating this series of videos using information that's publicly available in addition to my experiences during the 2024 model year photo shoot, my attendance at Hay Days and beyond. Arctic Cat isn't helping me, and I have received no encouragement, compensation or deferential treatment from them to continue creating these videos. I'm doing this to help prospective buyers, because I think it's important.

A lot of it! Sounds like after a warm week, it should start to cool back down. Hopefully, we can salvage some riding weather before spring!

I think the "Cat" is outta the bag... I kinda wonder how long it will be to get a 4s in a catalyst. Nothing against the PC, but now that we are teased with the catalyst I'm not sure how long they can keep the PC chassis around before everyone screams for more. After all, the PC chassis is 13 years old now?

Idk if u will see a 4 stroke catalyst have a feeling the turbo will be a 858. Yamaha is done after 2015 will cat still use the Yamaha engine we will see. The thundercat only weighs 37 pounds more than 850 doo Snowtrax weights. U dont need power steering all u need is straight line SLP skies with 6 inch carbide duel runners turns like a dream.

You bring up a good point, because I know they have worked on a turbo. All they’ve said is that it’s difficult getting around everyone else’s patents. They haven’t said it won’t happen, which makes me think it will. I agree on Yamaha - once they’re done, I think they’re done. If Cat wants to stay in the 4-stroke space, they’ll have to make their own.

Seat sucks on the catalyst way to hard. Father has catalyst rides great but idk if its really much better than pro cross. Road back to back over rough terrain both felt great. Maybe with more time I could find something the catalyst does better could just be the hard seat but I could not find what the big hype is all about. Iv raced SX and pro XC with many wins and championships. Would like to think i could tell if one sleds better than another and had a very hard time finding much difference. Did they feel different yes but did it equal to being better idk.

The ProCross is a great platform, for sure.

That sign on the desk...are they serious? That sign probably cost $5 to make.
Also why is the new catalyst not the new race sled?

That's a display at the factory, and I think they get rotated periodically. There's a bunch of sleds in a corner of the factory.
The Catalyst is the new race sled. Quite a few teams running them this year, but it sounds like a steep learning curve, so still lots of teams running RXC's from last year, too.

Sorry, you meant the sign on the front desk, not the sign above the snowmobile in the lobby. Yeah, they could've probably had a nicer sign made - that is the first thing people see when they walk in the front door.
