The WWE Draft has been a staple of the company from 2002 onwards. In fact, outside of a brief gap between 2012 and 2016 when the brand extension wasn’t active, there’s rarely been a year that’s gone by without it allowing the general managers of each show to mix their rosters up. But what are the best draft picks of all time? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

You should have had Undertaker being drafted to Smackdown in 2002. He was the heart and soul of Smackdown for 8 years when it needed him the most.
*Finn Bálor debut on the main roster was absolutely phenomenal. It’s just such a shame that his Universal title run was cut short the day after he won it at SummerSlam to his badly timed injury. Its even more upsetting that he never received a proper World title run and most likely never will.*
Yeah thats true. He is such a Company guy too. Switching between brands and even going to NXT just to push talent there
He's a Triple H guy so we'll have to see.
Priest still has that briefcase. If he does win I could see that being an angle to at least give him another shot at the title.
Though I also don't want to see the judgement day dissolve
pretty sure he wasnt transferred to NXT just to push over talents there but also to improve his own in ring work as well and then to come back to WWE. @@fabianfrommgen
@@nobodyfamousXjudgement day should definitely stick together for a few yrs. I'm tired of seeing factions being broken up before it's time. But I also don't want them adding more members.
WWE has been treating the prince like the least important member and that pisses me off because he was a devastatingly good heel in NJPW.
I remember during the 2011 Draft John Cena got picked twice, Earlier in the night he went to SmackDown and at the end of the show he went back to RAW

The draft made both Batista & Cena top faces of their brands (Smackdown & RAW respectively). It defined Rutheless agression era for me.
I would’ve added Bruan Strowman drafted to Smackdown in 2019 where he won the intercontinental championship as well as the universal championship at wrestlemania 36 . As well as Kane in 2009 to Smackdown where he won the money in the bank and the world championship in 2010
Kane, definitely.
Braun Strowman is a bit of a stretch, though.
Vince never even planned to have him as champion, which is more obvious considering they barely did much with him as Universal Champ.

For me they are the best ever drafts in WWE, and the 2005 draft was the best WWE draft ever.
The worst thing about Jinder’s reign is it ended Randy’s reign early, which ended Bray’s reign early, which ended Cena’s 16th reign VERY early, which ended AJ Styles’ reign early too, and THEN they gave Jinder a VERY LONG REIGN. Made no sense for any booking of that title that year!
Smackdown felt like the land of opportunity in 2016 they had a lot of great stars

It was the right decision to draft Batista & Cena, Batista perfectly fit Smackdown and the style of the brand while Cena would have an iconic rivarly with edge. Thus, Making them both the top face of their respective brands.
Take out Jinder Mahal and put in Alexa Bliss
Teddy Long from Raw to SmackDown on 2004 was massively underrated

Honorable mention: Mark Henry drafted to Smackdown in 2011. He ended up winning the World Heavyweight Championship and introduced opponents to the Hall of Pain.

She became Ms. Money in the Bank and won the SD Women's Title. The only way a draft pick can be bad is if you move to a different brand only to FAIL MISERABLY. If you can't wrestle, YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO FAIL to get over!

Now, though.. WWE is prime for another hijack.. because people are sick and tired of Roman STILL being Universal champion.. and no amount of "canned response" or shills in the audience is taking away from the fact no one wanted him to be champion this long.
And you also don't want to see Gunther STILL being IC champion? If you really think so, then why is Roman, as Universal Champ, considered a threat to other contenders for said title? If people are sick and tired of Roman being champ, WWE could have just given Roman the jobber treatment and award the title to Cody Rhodes before Mania...while Rocky leads the Bloodline to rebel against Roman, but remaining heels (Rocky leads the New Bloodline at the expense of Roman). Just like Finn Balor did to Edge on the Raw after Hell in a Cell 2022 (joining the Judgment Day at the expense of Edge).
@@HansenSebastian, Roman is going to be given the burial of a lifetime instead. Also, Gunther only having the IC a bit over a year is NOTHING compared to Roman having 4+ years as Universal Champion. As for Judgement Day... they are still riding high... they are in their "DX phase", while the Bloodline has fractured and is in their "third incarnation of the Four Horsemen" state. Roman is going to lose, and then the demise of the Bloodline will begin.
