@@damonlang1185 I’m just not sure how flexible the instructors are or if they are very strict, just trying to calm my nerves 😅
@@jackfrohreich2400 honestly they’re chill as. my instructor had his arm out the window as if he was my dad, and he was just saying “turn left at the end of this street”, “go straight through the lights”, etc etc. obviously i’m basing that on just one instructor, but my friends have had similar experiences. there’s no need to be nervous, especially if you know what you’re doing.

Your videos are amazing. This is the best parallel parking video on CZcams. Very clear instructions and easier to put into practice. I got closer to the curb with practising after watching your video. It made me feel more relaxed and confident when you said students worry too much about parallel parking. Just passed my test a few days ago. I watched your videos the night before and they really helped me. I passed second go but the first test I did was over a year ago. I failed the first test and it really broke my confidence. My driving instructor at the time was incredibly harsh and I just felt like I couldn't learn from her. Thankfully, I moved on and passed a year later second go.

Thanks so much for the excellent teaching, Jimbo. Our two kids are very close to sitting for their P's and have their hours up and so we're just needing to get the reverse parking under their belts. We have been teaching them ourselves and plan to get a few lessons just prior to the test, but concerned about costs. My husband is great with parking but I have terrible spatial perception and avoid reverse parking like the plague and had forgotten everything. I've written down your points and will have some practice myself. While I was watching your video, husband took our daughter out and she got two out of three in but your tips will really help.

Amazing teacher!!! I am so lucky to come across your videos. You are much better than the trainers I have had lessons. The trainers from two driving schools seemed to care more about how many lessons they can get me practicing with them rather than giving clear, systematic and comprehensive skills instruction, with my training with the NRMA trainer being worst! @@damonlang1185 my only advice is never doubt your own judgement and make sure you do your head checks when turning. I was nervous at first but eventually it just turned out to be a regular drive ☺️. Mine only went for 30 minutes. Goodluck :)

@@dianagleek Yes Diana, after passing your DKT you may proceed to take a driving test if you have a valid overseas license.
@@dianagleek Yes, if you are holding a original overseas driver's license, you can take the test. Once you pass the test you get full license straight away.

I had classes with instructors and but didn’t pass on the first try, I have been watching your videos since and thanks for the explanation on why we are supposed to do certain things on the test - that helped me a lot! This actually really helps out a lot for me!! Because I’m not really a book reader and my brain learns to understand this way quicker in a video and even better if it’s shown lol.

hi jimbo, i have my test next week, i am confused about this thing - i dont straighten the wheel and go back this is what my instructor said for me to do -
- put on left indicator and line up back seat of your car with end of other car (with a 1 m gap)
2- change GEAR to REVERSE
3- turn WHEEL LEFT for 1 full circle
4- CHECK right shoulder
5- LOOK BEHIND and reverse till 45* angle
6- turn WHEEL RIGHT 1 full circle
7- reverse till FRONT door handle looks like it’s hitting the kerb
8- turn WHEEL FULL RIGHT LOCK
9- reverse until parallel
10- change GEAR to DRIVE
11- make a STRAIGHT WHEEL and roll forward leaving a 1m gap
So what do you want to know ?
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 can i do that in the driving test so essentially i turn left for one circle then right for one circle then right LOCK
Yes you can do whatever system works for you. The way you are doing it though has no facility for adjustment if you happen to be parking against a wider vehicle or you happen to park wide. Why I teach to steer straight is so you can make allowances for this. So if you happen to start wide you will reverse straight a bit longer before turning. If you start wide you will finish wide with your system.

Hi Jimbo, I would like to thank you for your great effort. I've just passed my driving test in VIC. I actually failed the first time although I had had over 20 years of driving experience in more than 15 countries with a clean driving record. However, I had never driven in Australia before so some of the road rules where new to me, in addition to the fact that driving in Australia is on the left side of the road (which I believe is very challenging for people like me who are used to drive on the right). After I failed the first exam I started watching your videos and taking notes of the tips, that was really helpful today to pass the exam with zero mistakes.
