He's used other people's beats several times on the Sick Boi album alone. This isn't to say that many, if not most, beats aren't his own. Just not all of them.

The way that Ren uses gaps, breaks and pauses to emphasise and contrast the other things going on is borderline genius.

Love you guys energy and appreciation for music ❤ Ren has a very restricted diet and can only eat meat and a few veggies, hence the not eating at the beginning. It's called mcas, where he's basically allergic to all food.
Ren does all his own beats and every sound you hear! It is one take.
He does not make all sounds himself. He does on this one though.

Hi and thanks for your enthusiastic reaction. A bit of trivia, the food at the beginning is battered fried sausage, chips, and mushy peas, none of which Ren can eat due to his dietary restrictions. They also had to do a bunch of takes because Sam, walking backwards the whole time, kept bumping into walls and door frames. Ren also said he almost got hit by cars a couple of times as they crossed streets with no traffic control. I really enjoy your Ren reactions and I would love to see more. The live acoustic version of Genesis is quite the sight to behold :))

#AudioLunch 💡👍 I've always thought that the reaction was intended for the person making the video to experience the 🎶. I'm grateful that they feel vulnerable enough to allow me to participate in their very personal experience. #Ren is meant to be experienced & internalized so that we can become the best humans that we can be individually. People (#Renegades especially) need to allow this process to happen naturally & not be so critical about irrelevant stuff like pausing or commentary... IMO, #Ren would want his fans to be more accepting & empathetic when others' opinions or traits differ from our own (especially when those people are willing to listen to his music).

This is one of my favourite Ren tracks - it just has it's own groove (It is also one of Ren's top 3 favourites on the Sick Boi album, alongside Seven Sins and Money Game part 3)
Great review and reaction. Ren threw the food down in frustration because he will likely never eat anything like that again. On his patreon he has a video asking him about the past yr. Anyways, the interviewer asked if he had any wishes or goals. He said it would be a dream if one day he could eat anything he wanted. He has been eating the same 7 or 8 foods with water for 7 yrs. 2 types of beef and a handful of veggies. He is currently taking over 100 pills a day, vitamins, supplements and amino acids. Plus getting meds through IV's. He was told 4 more months in his medical treatment center in Canada. It has already been 1 yr.
he has mentioned lamb ribs and duck as well.
@@joanm2232 Ok...thanks didn't know that. What ever has the lowest inflammation. The organic beef farmer I use actually has a section of meat dedicated to the lowest inflammatory meat and lamb ribs is one them. So that makes sense.

i think it's his origin story, about strength from adversity. Pupils dilate in the dark, people die late in the dark, is an echo of what he states in Hi Ren. Victims and students. > students grow from conflict, some never make it. consider the chorus, "rain and rain at the start" > his beginning. "Pain in the art" > all great artists are destined to suffer. "Aim for the heart." > goading the universe to take it's shot, because it only makes him stronger. in three acts he tells his story; his troubles, his battle, and finally his emergence all the better. "time is the order, the lesson .. time is a curse AND a blessing", "confined in the eye of my mind", is again, victims and students. "take my piece of the pie, and then feed and unwind", remember that cake without icing from the beginning? he's taking what life gave him, and using it to fuel him, and that gives him peace. imo it's hands down his most impressive lyrics.

I am watching all the Ren reactions you guys have done so far, twice! ♥ In earlier video you mentioned you had watch some of The Big Push. GREAT! ♥But which ones? of course you didn't do reactions to them. Some of us might want to leave request for The Big Push for reactions but if you already watched them we won't know, so leave me or us a list of the ones you had already seen. Ren got into music as a kid when he tried to produce drum-and-bass songs, which led him to learn how to rap, play instruments, etc. You could say that that was the "genesis" of his musical career. Maybe his use of drum-and-bass here was intentional for that reason, now that you mentioned it.

The dawn of creation and other profoundly biblical musings are littered all over the album this song comes from. You see it touched apon in nearly every single song in one way or another... all leading up to a fantastic climax with money game part 3... i get the feeling he was just in that mood of pondering the dawn of civilisation as a whole and how scoiety as see it today is broken because, essentially its built on an uneven playing feild.... genesis... is the beginning. The entire album is a piece of art in its own right.

Your enthusiasm for our guy is excellent and there’s a deep rabbit hole awaiting you! You might want to check out his two old bands: Trick the Fox from university days and The Big Push more recently. A fun track to see young REN producing a song as well as playing on it is Jessica with the singer Orlean who has a very cool voice. ❤

Ren's internal metronome is crazy. So glad he has the knowledge and talent to produce his own beats, sing/rap/beat box, play instruments, compose, create his own videos. He's just mad talented. It almost seems absurd that he has something interesting to say while he's at it.
To me, Noah was kind of a selfish @ss. The book says God warned him the world would be flooded, so Noah saved all the animals. Ok, good. Then he only saves himself, his 3 sons, and all 4 wives. What's up with that? To me, "Noah was late for the ark" means two things: 1) humans are selfish &/or corrupt (sinning forever), and 2) Even when we (humanity) are warned, we don't do enough to save ourselves. I see these two themes pop up often in Ren's work.
I think in the book of enoch god sends an angel, uriel, to warn noah, but noah didn't act until the first drops fell. the savior of all life on earth never amounted to anything until he was forced to face his peril. this whole song is Rens origin story, about strength through adversity. "pupils dilate in the dark translates to students grow from conflict. "maybe it's all learning" "time is the order, the lesson". the "curse AND the blessing", and "confined in the eye of my mind" is that it's all about your perspective. victims, and students.
