If you're in a tight situation and are heavily outnumbered, instead of being in a field and getting surrounded try using your church as a makeshift fortification.
No you didn't there are multiple areas to control sometimes when you establish a new area with no proper defense and the enemy chose to attack that place this a useful last stand tactics it buys significant amount of time for your main army or reinforcement to arrive or even defeat and repeal the attack
Recently I won a very difficult battle, my army was outnumbered. 28 spearmen, 36 swords and shields, 12 full armor sections. 20 archers. the enemies had twice as many soldiers as the militias. I basically rested handgun warriors. and I made the archers bait the armies. I used mercenary archers. they were the bait that died. my servants only die about 15. Using archers to pull formations is very good. Bringing the enemy into the forest helps a lot to avoid rival archers. they are much faster to move.
The threat never even reaches my village, I always spot them walking when their still in the next region and just find a good spot to intercept them far from my town
had something similar happen where I had only one spearmen unit of 20 vs four raider units; funneled them into a street and took out 3 units and halfed the fourth
Since villagers tend to hide in the church, at least they are safe. And as long there are your soldiers within reach, raiders will leave your buildings alone.
This might also be possible to some extend with burgage plots. They only have two entrances, and the fence is impassable. Next time I start a settlement, I will try building long burgage plots parallel to the region's border, put my archers inside, and plug the entrances with spearmen.
I usually have that issue that my army is doing stuff on one side of the map, and then some idiots come raid a village on the other side. Of course it takes months to get there, so that village is gone
they released this game way to early even though it started 7 years ago. I already finished everything including hard difficulty. The game is right in difficulty but the mechanics are less. They need to develop more techniques, mechanics, lifestyle, and most of all fix crop harvest. Crop harvest suck in this game.
If you've reached this point, you've already lost.

@@user-xg4jg5zj2x when does baron attack your base? ive only been raided by like 4 groups of bandits at a time
What?! My men have balls to meet them in field. You would dare spill blood on holy ground?
Either die with your blood on the battlefield, or die with your blood on holy ground. You'd have balls of steel to pick the latter

Yeah, but entire village are razed
😅
If it's bandits they tend to ignore the village and gravitate towards my retinue

Like in real live. In Austria old chruches have a defend tower. Wehrkirche.
In Germany many churches too

Use your manor (walled)
If you have an available exit flank the attackers with polarms
Also the manor is a better option if you've also built walls and twoers there
use a homestead instead. It only has two entrances and can easily be defended by two units.
How do you get it on xbox
You're not. Only pc
Not yet released on consoles.
Have they fixed player's unit speed?
