Natural Disaster Saved Christianity? - Secrets Of Christianity 102 - Vesuvius And The Fear Of God

  • It is commonly assumed that the Apostles Peter and Paul spread Christianity across the planet, turning a tiny religious sect into the world’s largest religion. Is this possible? Can two people really have had such global influence?
Secrets of Christianity brings the techniques of investigative journalism to history, with Simcha Jacobovici connecting the dots of many academic and scientific disciplines to present a new take on the past. The series uncovers alternate truths that have either eluded us, or been kept from us - until now.

Barbara, the "scholars" are a pack of bought and paid for evil incarnate - we know this because while they tell us Moses wrote the Torah, over a dozen verses tell us that Moses did not write the Torah, so why are the "scholars" telling us that Moses wrote the Torah?
Because they're a pack of liars.
The year of our "LORD" doesn't refer to Jesus because our calendar is a satanic calendar - with the names of satan and his hybrid descendants - Vesuvius didn't erupt nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus didn't live thousands of years ago - neither did King David and King Solomon - neither did Abraham and Sarah, neither did Noah ...
Voluminous evidence tells us all of this so why are the "scholars" lying to us about all this?
Who controls the multi-million dollar scholarly institutions?
The true timeline for our human history is clearly documented - the true timeline for our Earth's continents, oceans, mountains, cataclysms, Earth's expansion, Earth's climate, etc., is also documented - back to Earth's early beginnings so clearly the "scholars", "historians", "scientists", etc., are a pack of liars.

Why was the cross in multiple homes of cities flooded with idolatry? Because that's not a Christian cross. That's the cross of Tammuz, known to exist in Babylon and Rome long before Jesus' death. That's where the Roman church got the idea.

yes for me too I love Simcha's work even though he sometimes gets it totally wrong or misses what's right in front of him, like with the one he did years back on the Gabriel Stone. I am busy writing an article ( looks more like a book now) on the Gabriel Stone and its harmony with biblical prophecy now that it has been translated in part in English. Simcha at least prompts people to search the bible and I am praying for his salvation. Blindness is in part for the Yahudim (Jews) so the Gentiles can come in but many of their eyes will be opened in the last days to see their Mashiak (Messiah) Yahushua/ Joshua (falsely called Jesus) who came 2000 years ago for our salvation.

@Paula Wallace The whole bible is a series of "metaphors" designed to lead you to the one true God...! You cant make your point by using the stories of the bible as if they are historical. They are metaphors. All scriptures are metaphors designed to lead you to the truth. It's the searching that prepares one for the truth. If you seek God with an open heart...you will find! He will "reveal" himself to you in spirit, and truth. Instead of seeking, you spend your time trying to discredit those who know things that you yourself do not understand. I pray peace to you and your family, and I hope you find understanding.

YES! YOU ARE SO 100% CORRECT!!! Back in 2017 I was studying the New Testament course at the local theological seminary: the course culminated naturally with the Book of Revelation, which I’d always previously assumed was the result of too many magic mushrooms consumed by St John the Divine or as some would say, the “Deranged”! HOWEVER as our professor took us chapter by chapter through this amazing work, and explained its deep structure and many references to the Temple and to Old Testament prophetic utterance, eg Ezekiel, I SUDDENLY REALISED!!! OMG!!” This is taken from EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS OF THE ERUPTION OF VESUVIUS!!! 🌋 🌋 🌋 It could either be based on Pliny the Younger’s famous written account or on other people’s verbal testimony. St John was on Patmos, not so very far away from the Bay of Naples, and Book of Revelations was written (we were told) in AD 96, a mere 17 years after the eruption in AD 79, so, time-wise and place-wise, it’s very possible. You wouldn’t have to be a devout Christian to draw a connection between the rampant licentiousness and corruption of Pompeii, and divine retribution! In fact, a concatenation of events like that would be enough to convince the most confirmed atheist! It seems merciful that Herculaneum, a more sedate city, was vaporised in a flash, they wouldn’t even have known what hit them.

I wonder if the baker, who seemed to use Christian symbolism, catered to a special group who wanted more kosher bread or types of bread that were more Middle Eastern? Paul dropped a lot of the rules of Judaism but in 79 CE it would be reasonable that a number of people were transitioning. If the first Jesus followers were observant Jews, many would still follow the rituals in 79 CE.
It is interesting to contemplate who would have been the clientele of that baker. Surely Jewish or Christian slaves would not have had buying power. Slaves could gain or buy their freedom but how many would there have been? Lots of questions come to mind.

God waited for Jews for generations but since they had rejected or ignored God’s invitation, he opened the invitation to whole world.. the church established by St Peter is the new Israel.. you can see this when Jewish temple was attacked in 70 AD, the Christians were not affected and they were shifted at this time.. they came back to Israel and lived in the ruins. They did Sunday sermons in house of St mark as per God’s will. Once you are a part of this church, be prepared to get persecuted and suffer as Jesus did.

God was trying to get across to the people that they were not to worship any of these creatures that He created, people were making images of them, like the other nations were doing. They were worshipping planets, animals, insects and the carved images were to be a reminder to them so they wouldn’t forget the things they chose to honor and worship. Yes the image of the cross is just a reminder of the temporary death of the Son of God. God bless

It is MY OPINION, that this guy is just trying to understand Christianity. I BELIEVE he wouldn’t go on such a venture without first reading the Bible. This are HIS VIEWS, from HIS RESEARCH. He can make an argument for HIS VIEWS more than those who have read the Bible and took it word on. HE MAY not be right according to what each of us chooses to believe, but I appreciate his effort to understand history, for everything we believe in about Christianity right now is historical. Again ... MY OPINION...

Barnabas and Saul of Tarsus were heretics (lairs); Rev 2:1-3; as they served themselves and not G-d. Saul of Tarsus was never executed as because he was a citizen of Rome there would have to be documentation on it as any citizen today being executed. He was likely moved to modern today Spain to live out the remained of his days anonymously. Away from anyone that he ever knew. The claims of his executions comes from a passing comment of a priest/bishop in the third or fourth century. The emperor at the time was Vespasian.

Interesting. It has been written that Christians did not use the sign of the cross until centuries after Jesus' death, at a time when the sickening practice was more forgotten. That could be an interesting subject for another video, when did Christians actually start using the cross as a symbol? Supposedly Christians first used the fish, the chi/rho, etc.
It is also said that what Jesus was actually envisioning was physical, divine justice on earth, G-d wiping out the rot and creating a new kingdom, as in heaven, so on earth. It is said early Christians literally expected the return of the Messiah as ruler of this new kingdom.
One reason why Christians or Jews may have had time to leave graffiti on walls is because a errible earthquake predated the eruption by a fairly short time. In one of the cities a wall in a grand house was being re-plastered and painted, supposedly because the earthquake had knocked plaster off the wall.
I was too close to the Mt. St. Helens eruption in Washington state, 1980. Even though the eruption was expected, nobody knew what would really happen or how many miles would be affected. If we did not know about volcanoes and did not expect this thing, we would have many spooky tales to tell around the campfires. One of the most shocking parts was that after the ash cloud blacked out the sun in the afternoon, the ask fell like heavy, hot, dry cement. I was sure we would die but we were actually in no danger where I was. In 79 CE Pliny the elder described the mushroom cloud above Vesuvius as like an umbrella pine. He was observing and recording with no idea what was happening.
