I used to be a bit of a fast lad on my bikes (been riding since 1996) and when you are at powerband level and you really want to keep the maximum acceleration potential, you blip on the down shifts just so you don't lock the rear wheel up. Especially on big singles or twins.
Also, when I'm gunning it, I don't use the clutch to upshift either. It's all just riding style I suppose, and in years gone by, it was cool to hear a decent lot of blipping on the down shifts, it showed the good riders.
Nowadays, the main thing that pisses me off, is rev bombing instead of just using the horn, or defensively riding to keep yourself out of shit in the first place.
You just cannot bounce the revs off the limiter on older bikes

"I go the longer way . . just 'cause I like riding the bike"
so true. Drivers will never understand.
Ride responsibly and carefully and it's safe as anything.

      Woah sweeping statement alert😂
      I had a mini don't you know.
I'd drive all day on a tenner because I liked the country lanes, going nowhere just enjoying chucking it about and leaving far more powerful cars in my dust in the bends.
I get the same feeling on my bike so yep I know exactly😂

A tenner ?? That must have been a while ago.
I filled the car up yesterday NZD $155.00

@@harryflashman4542 yea we're right there with you currently £1.56 a litre for diesel here, works out the same.
Your $155 would be £70 here.
£10 was a third of a tank on the mini in 2004. £0.89p per litre 110 miles even with my lead foot in a 998cc🤣

@@stevep9739 With the price of petrol being what it is I am not really feeling it for our leaders. I think it is maybe they are wanting to make fuel so expensive we give up our combustion engines. Same as they did with smoking.

Amazing how affordable things were back then. Or maybe I was just a lot younger.

Bought a brand new 1987 CBR1000F Hurricane back in May, 1987. I had the rare Black/Monza Red color scheme. Had a lot of fun w/that bike. Everything I asked it to do? No problem. So comfortable on 2+ hour rides. Great time being in my mid 20's in the 1980's with that bike.

If things workout ill be getting an 86'cbr 750r hurricane swapped cbr1000 engine real soon i think the engine in the 750r body is from a '90 to early '00 cbr 1000 but all i know is i cant wait to get it the current and first owner really took great care of it its just unfortunate the original engine chain snapped and im sure we all know how scarce those chains are for that specific model. It will be my first bike but not the first ive ridden super excited and ill definitely be responsible with it i am not driving over the fastest speed limit in my city. Ive heard with these big bikes you have to respect them otherwise one can get humbled in terrible ways, stay blessed sir and enjoy that beautiful bike there for many more rides and years to come🙏😎

Just bought a ‘91.. delivery Friday. I have 5 other bikes of various 90s/early 00s vintage, but I’ve always fancied the idea of owning a CBR1000F for a looong time. Finally scratched the itch. 😊👍🏼

You got the best colour. I love them I prefer the non cbs model but cbr1000f is by far the best bike to keep the rain of you with that fairing build crash bumpers built in. Fast as he'll good tyres sound awesome it just to heavy for so I've got a 92 cbr600f it's just not as good as the 1000f

I always look and make them know I see them even If I do. Always turn my head and keep it on a swivel. Don't rely on mirrors and don't expect anyone to see me, or care. Blipping is silly sometimes yes 😜

    @stepeat2991 Před 11 měsíci +1

The double blip I think your referring to is actually a rev match so when gearing down your revs are going to end up in the higher rpms so you rev match “blip” it to get the revs up to match its to make a smoother gear change
