Replacing O rings on Cam Chain Tensioner BMW K1300s
zhlédnutí 310Před 3 měsíci
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. Very easy to do and worth doing to avoid tensioner draining oil if left for long periods.
Finally I've seen the light with this K1300s

I reveal if the BMW K1300s oil leak is fixed
zhlédnutí 257Před 3 měsíci
3 months of faffing around trying to carefully work out why the oil leak suddenly appeared after standing for 8 weeks over the winter. The fault seemed to be the cam chain tensioner being too long. The bike is 11 years old why did this not happen earlier whilst in my ownership. How could it have lasted so long without leaking before hand. Supposedly if you buy a cam chain guide, you get the mod...
Is this the end or is it just fantasy?

How to cure cam cover gasket oil leak BMW K1300s Pt 3
zhlédnutí 152Před 4 měsíci
Hi I edited this on my iPad Pro so graphics don’t look the same 🙄 A common problem with the BMW K1300s due to cam chain mod by BMW. Anti cam chain jump guard has been fitted because if the bike stands for some time the chain tensioner loses the oil and chain goes slack then when started jumps. When the jump guard was fitted it pushes the lower chain guide up by 3mm so you have to shave 3mm off ...
How did this radiator ever work in this state Pt2 BMW K1300s

After draining cooling system I carefully removed the radiator. I was determined to clean it and not have to buy a new one costing £535. So this is how I did it.
Why do have oil all over the rear tyre and my boot! Pt 1
zhlédnutí 106Před 4 měsíci
Developed an oil leak from the cam cover gasket after bike stood for 8 weeks. did a long run and had oil on my boots. I had to get to the bottom of it which proved to a major teardown and find why it leaked.

too much faffing for me... good luck to you all tho
Dude your ride is soooo boring! For you 125cc enough!!
Yes all went well. Slight oil leak but that’s now sorted couple of clutch cover bolts needed nipping up
You got the best colour. I love them I prefer the non cbs model but cbr1000f is by far the best bike to keep the rain of you with that fairing build crash bumpers built in. Fast as he'll good tyres sound awesome it just to heavy for so I've got a 92 cbr600f it's just not as good as the 1000f
Just bought me an 88 hurricane 600f1 dirt cheap and low miles no damage no rust 250 euro 27000 miles
All good with bike?
If things workout ill be getting an 86'cbr 750r hurricane swapped cbr1000 engine real soon i think the engine in the 750r body is from a '90 to early '00 cbr 1000 but all i know is i cant wait to get it the current and first owner really took great care of it its just unfortunate the original engine chain snapped and im sure we all know how scarce those chains are for that specific model. It will be my first bike but not the first ive ridden super excited and ill definitely be responsible with it i am not driving over the fastest speed limit in my city. Ive heard with these big bikes you have to respect them otherwise one can get humbled in terrible ways, stay blessed sir and enjoy that beautiful bike there for many more rides and years to come🙏😎
Always going faster than you think .
Great video, thanks for sharing. Subscribed
stuff like this is so scary in an older car the other week I was driving an old Austin metro and had a Peugeot pull out in front of me and my brakes locked on as i was beeping, luckily there wasn't a crash but it's crazy how people don't look
I took it off as bad roads and vibration almost broke the screen
Bloody cyclists! And they don’t even pay road tax etc etc
Tail end was new chap for this year.
I did have a word said he stopped for everyone else ! 😮
Longshore not Longsure 😊
Looks like you guys had a fab day. Well done to the organisers and the participants.
I had one , loved it . I was always going faster than I thought!!! Always 🤣♥️👍
Apologise for the sound issues 😡 my mistake and didn’t check the audio lead
It’s Honda vultus NM4
Saw it last year good to see it again see you next year. I’ll say hello
Thanks for mentioning my Honda bike ❤
Hi Carol good to catch up what is it exactly I’d never seen one until last year when I got in your way starting my Enfield
Well done all, bike community is soooo nice, long may it continue, ;)
Any where i cant find information when i have to change the timing chain
I guess you can join our K1300s Riders fb group and ask I’m not to be honest.
Hi i have k1300r 2011 on 70 000 do you know when i have to change the timing chain because there is some strange noise first 2 3 second when i start the bike and some time When i pull the trottle
change now!
Worth changing the o rings in the tensioner.
If you go into 2nd gear and then into 1st from standstill, the clunk is much reduced. I have the Motor Sport edition. Still gawp at it every time I open the garage door.
Nice to hear Motorbikes that actually Sound like Motorbikes
What part number do I need to order?
I had an RD200. Small bike, went like stink. It even kept up with motorway traffic.
Got there about 1. Saw two runs by everyone. Next year ill get there earlier. A really good feel to the event. Thanks for filming.
You’re welcome it was a fine gathering of like minded people enjoying themselves. Sadly I was under dressed for the weather could have done with a fleece under my coat, casual gloves and a beanie but then last year it was a beautiful day. Thanks for watching.
@@Eastsussexbiker the afternoon session was much better weather, roads dried out a bit and it was almost sunny!
I've took IPSGAand passed, but I still don't get it.One instructor told completely different things to another and relying on no comms and overlooking in your mirrors just takes your attention off the road ahead not a good way of going about things. Seems to me that it slowed learning down. I would have gone with a different advanced training school. But they were the closest to Nottingham. but then they are the experts.
Thick bastard disqualification extended test dangerous driving
Gotta be insane to drive one of those shitboxes these days.
Dozy bastard. On his phone maybe?
Wow !! Hope the driver was ok 😔Lucky that that was a solid Herald
I spent a lot of money on a HID Kit from a reputable UK reseller around 8 years ago. The light was brilliant but I'd often get LampF errors/light randomly not turning on, sadly the reseller wasn't interested in helping. I ended up giving the kit away as the seller keep saying it must be my bike, but the new owner had identical problems.
Time will tell
I went from a Yamaha Tracer 900 to my K13s (same as yours) as, even though there was nothing wrong with the Yam it just didn’t wow me with anything it did. Hence I did just over 2000 miles in 3 years. Now the K13s is constantly calling me to take her out. She looks great, is too fast but handles like a dream for normal everyday. I love the retro look but also the tech. On the Yam if I hit a pothole I’d be bounced around, the ESA just soaks it up. Only had mine a few months but love it. There’s nothing out there to replace it, you could go R1200/1250 RS but they don’t look as pretty. Stick with it, plus you’re fixing everything yourself so no massive service bills.
It just does everything well, and whilst its been a bit problematic it's got me to know the bike and hopefully now I can enjoy it. Thanks for showing interest much appreciated.
Bikes are made to be reved, have you reved your bike over 6k? Serious question.
Nice enough ride and with safety. We start on the inside lane and make a move to the outside lane. Our camera is on our helmet. There doesn't appear to be any mirror check or lifesaver before we move over. At the lights and at the stop we have a final bounce which indicates that we are using the front brake or both rather than finish on the rear one. Are we using the back brake to finish or still on the the front? 4 mins later and again coming to a stop and now states braking using front brake and back brake but not at the last few metres using rear brake only. so getting a bounce again. At 5.45 heading towards an n/s junction did we notice a red postal pillar box situated on the kerbside and just prior to that junction. Such a placement can sometimes block a drivers view when at that junction and waiting to drive out so its a greater danger to us. . Is there such a position nowadays as position 4 ? I think not and the furthest that any civilian is trained to be in is position 3 which is about the position in the offside track of a cars wheel.. some 2/3 ft inside the mid line. At 9.36 approaching a lower 30 mph speed limit although he does a mirror check after passing that signage should he have done one before slowing prior to it to make sure he is not slowing from what could be 60 mph with a possible tailgater behind him. Failed also to do one dropping from 60 down to 40 mph later. Have you ever noticed that its appears to be only advanced riders and drivers that slow to the legal speed when before passing such a sign.. Most motorists continue for some distance driving at the speeds they are doing and so they reduce speed some time after passing it. As that appears to be the norm they would not expect a driver or rider in front to be slowing prior to it and thus not anticipating slowing earlier themselves and that could be a danger to ourselves. At 10.15 he says he is maintaining a 2 second gap but at 30 mph a 2 second gap would some 90 ft. [approx] and he was nothing line 90 ft behind. More like 50/60 ft. so well within that 2 second gap mentioned.
Absolute pile of shite these bikes are. There's a very good reason why no dealer want's to part ex them and the prices are so low. Appalling quality all round - and yes, I had the misfortune of owning one! I'll never again buy a BMW.
ACF 50 is excellent bike anti rust stuff for bikes
Yes it is, I do use it however it does attract road dust etc
That biker's waving is awkward in England. You're waving with your left hand -- away from the oncoming motorcyclist? Or with your right hand -- letting go of the throttle? In Europe it's easier to wave -- you keep your right hand on the throttle and wave with the left hand towards the oncoming motorcyclist. In England, most just awkwardly nod -- which again is difficult to even see with the helmets.
I enjoyed that ride with you, thanks. Fellow east sussexer. IMHO keep it and carry on enjoying.
Thanks, will do! now the little jobs have been done I can make the most of the summer
The damage to Peugeot is minimal in comparison.
There really isn't anything else to compare to it too these days, this is the problem
At this price range i would keep it, good commute bike, it's nice to look, and heck what's an occasional bit a cramp. Re the stupid over turned car. I was thinking that you we're possibly lucky, not to go down that road half hour or so earlier, muppets everywhere.
Absolutely re the car probably on his phone
I got a k1300s, a fantastic bike. It brings a huge smile. What bike is more fun and better then the k1300s ? It dont have to be a new bike, to be more fun or better.. I traded my Yamaha Tracer 900GT 2019 for a K 1300s 2009.
They are a great bike
Triumph Explorer or Tiger 800.
Mine started overheating in traffic, would cool down again once riding , checked the rad , fins completely blocked in bottom 3rd , had to buy a new rad , 605 euro , cant get a knockoff , has to be genuine bmw
Looking at purchasing one myself, need something with serious power
How come ? It's not all about power when you can only put down 70mph worth of power on UK public roads.
Hmm, i never got a picture of the bike.
A very good sport-tourer, heavy mind. My mate managed to bin his going down Applecross Pass... that's how I know how heavy it is ;-)
Does bin mean wreck or to go full throttle
