LIGHT for BATTERIES

To present some of the experiments performed at the ALBA Synchrotron, we have made a second series of five videos. New materials, study and effects of Covid-19, industrial adhesives, ... ALBA Synchrotron users from universities, research centers and companies explain how they have taken advantage of synchrotron light and what benefits it brings to their research.
This video focuses on the search for alternative materials to manufacture batteries. The researcher and deputy director of the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona of the CSIC, M. Rosa Palacín, using synchrotron light, explains how with it they can see how some materials used to make batteries are and how they behave, focusing especially on abundant and low-cost elements, with the aim of developing knowledge that will boost the energy transition.
