Montoya was spot on when he said that "it's easy to think a driver in the best car is the best driver"
LOL, Lewis won every year with/out the best car. I see a salt truck.
@@artankayd Well 2009 McLaren was really good in late of the season.
@The Legend 30 Because he was a shitty racer. And McLaren wasn't bad after mid season. So saying 2009 McLaren was bad the whole season is bullshit.
saying Vettel and Alonso are better then lewis is strange right now back then weirdly but understandable but today not any longer ;)
Hamilton was a winner from the age of 5 when he came second in the National remote control racing championships in Britain. That was against ADULTS !!! He started Karting at age 8 and pretty much dominated the sport. By the age of 12, his driving skill was high enough that Ladbrokes took a bet, at 40/1 odds, that Hamilton would win a Formula One Grand Prix race before the age of 23. 6 world championships and he hasn't even peaked yet. Christ knows how many titles the man will have before he retires. He is not an OK driver. He is not an also-ran like Montaya was. He has always been a winner and will go down in Motor racing history as the best driver of his generation and one of the best of all time. ..and I'm not even a Hamilton fan, just a Formula 1 fan who knows excellence when he sees it.
he is number juan
oh god.... :D
He`d`ve been a top fireman if his name was Jose( Hose A)
Reminds me of an interview where a journalist spells Juan and one the same way and pissed him off
Better say it Juan at a time man 😂😂😂
Liberty Media, just upload full races from the 70s, 80 and 90s and you will be loved forever :)
Nico RosbergFan they can upload any full race and i'm happy
Where?
On CZcams, the official website or even on Netflix, Amazon Prime or something
Excellent opinion but your name triggers me
The Jononator I hear that quite often XD
The definition of raw talent. A drivers driver. One of the greatest to never win a world championship.
Montoya: a driver with personality! We enjoy it!
I liked (and like) to see him as a driver. I think his personality is unbearable.
Torres9 Nothing Same can be said about lewis, vettel, Michael etc. The amount that's on the line in a race wouldn't you moan? You're in the heat of the moment.
On track he had the same personality as Max Verstappen
He sounds like Tony Montana in Scarface
Oh deer
What a driver this guy was! Shame his F1 career didn't last longer.
Very nice to hear nice things said about Ralf Schumacher, the underrated Schumi.
Michael used to say that Ralf was the faster brother.
He's not underrated, Ralph's problem is the huge, gigantic shadow projected by his brother.
@BPJ . True,, Schumacher, Michael, was quite a realistic man. He deserved to be a bit arrogant as it was him putting in the hard work to build relationships and pounding in the laps in testing from which to develop the car etc, and it paid off. He simply didn't inherit a team or set of rules that benefited him without the input ordinarily necessary.
He , also to his credit , claimed the car ultimately responsible for his achievements,,, that was also a sign of the GOAT's modesty.
@BPJ. You and I can be friends lol.
Keep fighting Micheal.
@@peteharmony6024Definitely Michael just being modest. Ralf had his moments, but Michael was definitely faster on a consistent basis. Despite Montoya's interview, which while true is a little ironic considering he only spent time in top teams at F1, Michael made magic in machinery that wasn't the best.
"Hated" him as a Ferrari rival...love him now and his candid speaking. Tons of respect for JPM!
the most underrated driver in f1 history
F1 needs this man. If not driving at least to provide inputs or anything. He just need to be part of it somehow.
Patrick Cramer. No they don't need him , he won't make a difference at all .
Agree!
They need him atleast to transform the boring f1 to more exciting and aggresive
His son Sebastián Montoya coming son
It was a tragedy for F1 and JPM's career and legacy when he chose to leave and whither away in Nascar
Montoya's analysis on the best drivers IS SOOOOOOO On point
He is right with Alonso, but not so with Vettel. Vettel had best car almost all his F1 career. Meanwhile Hamilton won the title with car that does not won constructor title that year.
Are you, by any chance, an Alonso fan?
Alonso > Hamilton > Vettel
You can say the same for Lewis he never really had a year where he pushed the abilitys of the car he started with McLaren and won his first championship by a very narrow margin due to mistakes of massa, luck and a car the was built using data from Ferrari
About Alonso yes, but i wouldn't say that vettel is one of the best drivers there.
Love Montoya. So accomplished in several different categories. Legendary driver.
Montoya left too early no matter what he says. He's one of the few drivers that could ruffle Michael Schumacher's feathers. It would be nice to have more IndyCar drivers cross over because they bring a different mentality to the sport.
He needed a team switch which he didn't do for some reason.
A move to Red Bull in 2007 could have been possible.
when did he ruffle, when msc won championship. Schumacher barely noticed he was there
@GT012345tube But back then, It's possible that he could make a little bit of difference. Maybe a change in environment (away from the clinical McLaren environment) was something that could keep him more motivated? Then again, it's just a thought.
@GT012345tube You are right. The Red Bull was still finding its feet in the late 2000s, excluding 2009. It was in 2009 that Newey capitalized on the aero changes to create an excellent race car. Arguably the best F1 car of 2009, since Brawn tailed off in performance near the end of the season.
Then again, really missed seeing Montoya. I believe he could've stayed a little longer, but ultimately he made the decision to quit. He rejected F1 before it rejected him.
Most honest guy in the F1 world
"You fucking idiot! You ruined my fucking head!"
Every single time
Oh I though he said "you broke my fuckin' head." :D
DJAAAAAAA
YOU BROKE my head you idiot !!!! LO
why do you dribble such weak garbage? And why did you say lol when your comment wasnt even funny?
Cause you broke my head dude !!! I did not say LOL I wrote LOL my dear Watson.
Really wise words from a genius! "It's easy to think that the guy in the best car is the best driver".
keep this new content coming F1 CZcams :)))) I can speak for all the fans when we say we love it!
Jack Byrne You shall not be allowed to speak for me.
Totally. Awesome by The F1 Channel. Keeos Us going,Waiting for the next season
Montoya, Schumacher - two guys with very interesting and strong personalities....I really miss these days.
You can think what you want about these two guys, but you have to agree that they made Formula 1 so much more interesting.
If they can lure any emotions out of you (as the spectator), they did a splendid job on track! :)
OH DEAR!!
Iván M
Yeah a deer. Like a horse with horns.
Iván M i was gonna comment the same... OH DEAR!!
"Yeah i know.. hahaha... oh deer..."
He is the Juan driver that laughing on the dear. LOL
I see what you did there...
I'm not the biggest Michael fan, but man.. that guy was probably the toughest mentally of any driver. Man he did NOT play around
Some things NEVER change. Montoya still doesnt mince words. ...lol ...You gotta love him!
Julian Clary minces his words...
Great interview. Montoya is a straight talking guy and a great racer. Would have loved to see him in a Ferrari in early 2000s.
The rising number one of formula one, Juan, one wonders...
Gábor Hényel won, one year
That doesn't even make sense... If you're going to try and make an English joke, at least write one that makes grammatical sense.
czcams.com/video/tFUJjm0yXNc/video.html
David You have no clue what this is referencing, correct?
David nigga u stupid as fuck
Grill The Grid with Montoya ! please F1
He already grilled the whole damn place a couple years ago, no need to call the fire department anytime soon.
JPM was the one of the best drivers on the grid in 2001 - 2005. He left because McLaren kind of "bullied" him.
reno salujõe He left because he got bored. XP
reno salujõe he crashed a lot
@@natelecarde962 Lol, but I think he is hypocritical. Something went through his head and he was weak mentally to not switch to another team as he had no chance of being number 1 with McLaren fav child Kimi.
He didn't left he got fired by Ron Dennis
Couldn't possibly agree more with him in pretty much every single question ... So sad this guy didn't get to win a world championship
"You know what I mean?"
I loved Montoya my favorite driver while he was in it.
I miss BMW in F1 as well JPM and the V10 engines!
I think the Finns are strong mentally. I think they are Vulcans. Just look at how Mika, Kimi, and Valteri are. Not even a smile. LOL
HAHA...
Pwoahhhhh
Mika and Kimi yes, Valtteri no
@@michaelcollins966 why valtteri no? He gets plenty of hate comments even when he wins but he clearly isnt affected by them
@@finmous Is this the same Valtteri who span out 6 times at Turkey?
Strong mentally or no a poker face??
Juan's words about Lewis have come prophetic this season😁
Yeah, totally
This interview highlights why JPM should be in everyone's Top 10 of favorite F1 drivers of all time, a pure racer who tells it as it is.
Because Montoya never had a meltdown...
Haha, he was sooo strong mentally. Like sleeping bomb
Exactly. If he was so strong mentally then why didn't he stay in F1, oh it probably become boring I guess so he went to Nascar where you can be a fat fuck and still race. I like Juan Pablo Montoya, but I think he is a little liberal with the truth.
...
*...Fucking idiot, you broke my fucking head.*
He's a B class driver. They let him go because of too many mistakes and he's bitter now .many years ago his feelings was that he was very disappointed and when he was in F1 he love it more than any other motorsport, now he's acting like he wasn't sorry they let him go .😂😂😂
Wisdom comes from experience.
This man talks sense....
I still believe Juan could hv been the greatest of all time. I badly miss you juan. I started to watch F1 from 2001 and into F1 only because of you. Hope u can teach someone drive like you and i am waiting. Fan from faar east
JPM maybe the best driver to have never won the Driver's Championship.
Sir Stirling Moss
Legendäres Item aus Pandora robert kubica.
Sebastian l never saw him driving. Montoya l have. So there you go...
Legendäres Item aus Pandora well thats a point, me neither. But for sure he is a legend
Fuck no! he would not be in the top 5
Juan a great interview as always. He never ceases to speak his mind.
JPM with some really surprising insight, real talk, very refreshing.
his remark and prediction are right on the spot in 2021! Want a mental! Superb driver!
Montoya in Indy, Champ CART series, NASCAR, 24 Rolex, Le Mans, dude has done it all, I would take his word over any current F1 driver today easily.
I'd love to see Juan Montoya and Jacques Villeneuve do F1 commentary together, just to see how much shit they could stir up.
This guy deserves at least one championship tittle .. It was a pleasure to see him beatin' schumi during his long supremacy in Ferrari
Juan Pablo Montoya, ídolo! Anyone here from Bogotá, Colombia?
What a great driver! Got some brilliant insights too
It's really nice to see this type of videos, drivers or ex-drivers speaking their mind with no pr people telling them what to say like robots.
Nice to see Juan back around F1 again! One of the greatest drivers to never win the championship. He could really wheel a car around
Montoya made a point here...he is a man with a personality
Great interview, really interesting to hear his thoughts and very direct with his views
JPM, my favourite driver of the modern era. Great at overtaking and really quick over one lap.
i gained a whole lot of respect for this man listening to this interview. He's not so much the loose cannon he has been made out to be...
CrzyCrg I agree. Apart from that one time when he walked into a camara man and tried to fight him, he's a pretty cool guy.
iM3GTR hahahaha I saw that... you have a point!
If anything, he's more of a cool guy because he tried to fight that camera man.
There's a big difference between an active racing driver competing and an older, more mature man sitting down for a casual interview.
Well that's the insidious world of F1 for you, the reason why he ultimate left. And lets dont't forget this words. 'If you don't got for a gap that exist, you no longer a racing driver' Ayrton Da Silva Senna..the exceptional.
Very nice words! In everything, what a guy! We miss you Montoya
i always loved the guy. as a Schumacher "fan" (im 33 so it would be childish to say im still a big fan like a kid:D) i always loved those people who could push Michael to his limits, because in those times I had the chance to see Schumacher's real skills , when he had to drive at his maximum, and that was always incredible to see. So thank you Juan, you did a great job , you gave me a lot of great memories.
Raikkonen was faster than anybody in the early 2000's. Very different to Kimi of today. Montoya was absolutely aware of this and quit because he knew it was over with Kimi or Fernando in the team. Still a good driver, but its sad to see how JPM has to be so defensive of his McLaren days. He only won Monza and Silverstone because Kimi had a 10 place penalty. Ralf? Ralf was fast but ridiculously inconsistent. Michael and Kimi are rock solid mentally. So I do not totally agree this generalization.
JP talkin' some truth
the biggest showman, F1 needs more drivers like him... 2016 was a year to forget.
Montoya was my guy! Gutsy streetfighter mentality fighting with Michael, it was amazing. Bleeding speed also!
Oh dear, the content is extending. Great guys, fans lovin it! And as many people already wrote down there... please think about uploading full classic races if it's possible. Or some highlights maybe? What's the point in keeping the good old days secret?
KrazyKennez if classic races were available I would probably struggle to leave the house! Would be all over it! 😄👍
Best interview I have seen regarding Formula 1 in the last.... may be the best interview I can remember.
F1 interviews are all too tight and full of easy going chat that is always going nowhere.
Keep the YT vids coming! The fans are noticing the changes already - and we love it.
well that the best honest f1 interview i heard this year beside alonso interviews
Love this guy.. speaks so correctly on things..
decent interview! changed my perspective on montoya
Spoke his mind, much respect.
He was a very good driver. He's a sharp little thing now, and he kept his eye for the sport. Congrats
Could have been 2003 world champion if Ferrari International Assistance hadn't changed the tyre regulation which hindered the Williams for the final 4 races. Before that change the Williams was the fastest car.
That tyre regulation change due to the "spirit of the rules" was complete bullshit. The tires passed all the inspections and pre race homologations! Why couldn't they wait for the next season to make the rule clarification? I'll tell you why: the massive pressure ferrari put on FIA crying for ages. They were just sad the bridgestone monopoly they created was not the best anymore for them! It was total bullshit and I was really salty about that one as a kid, and still am to this day!
I started watching F1 in 2001 (I was 9 year sold). I chose Montoya to be my favourite immediately. I was a huge fan (like literally crying when his engines blew up). :D Now I'm a Hamilton fan, but ofc. it's not that important to me now. I had a few actual dreams that Montoya comes back and I have to decide who I want to support... :D Nvm.. both were / are awesome drivers with a lot of haters. :)
Montoya should have won the championship! He is a throwback driver that could drive anything and win! 🏁
JP montoya..one of my favorites...I did loved watched he...so sick !
uno de los mejores pilotos de la historia sin ser campeón de la f1!
"Hell NO!" Good ole JPM. Says it like it is.
Great interview
This is why I love the Bogota Bruiser. He was a beast of a driver.
"Imagine where they would be if they weren't in the best car" Lewis: Mclaren
Nico: Formula E
He didn't mention Kimi as one of the best drivers just because he was beaten by him too hard in 2005 haha
In that case it made sense for him to speak highly of Kimi to make himself look not so bad, you know whadda mean?
He wasn't ask. Look at other interviews, he has always said great things about Kimi.
I guess Kimi must be one of the "mentally weak european drivers". lol
Yeah Kimi basically ended his F1 career
look the last quarter of 2005, Montoya had better performance than kimi, in classification and races.
This is the kind of stuff we need. Getting the oldies and listening to their words of wisdom.
thanks Juan pablo we are now 2017-11-12 and you are all right.
Nice to see Fernando in the Ferrari suit at 0:49
Im joking ok?
That's Fernando's older brother Hernando.
Maybe you have a virus in your computer, because that's not Fernando.
appelpower1 I said I was joking mate, but that's an awesome quote there lmao
Who am I? True, I was merely looking for an opportunity to quote the F1 Meme King himself.
lol - I would believe you if he had suddenly got weight about 49 pounds :D
Miss Monti
Great video. He's very honest and i respect that.
Montoya , always liked this guy , great driver !
an honest and good opinion of current drivers but will never get a job with SKY as he dose not think Hamilton is the greatest driver in the universe and someone who invented the wheel.
The fastest in F-1 ever,Monza lap.....Unrepeatable driver, always in action, the highest posible driving skills....I would like to see Montoya inF-1 for next three years....
Juan has such a different energy to most of the others, coming from Indy, wish there more like him!
As straightforward as always, Great stuff Montoya.
Today the F1 would need people like that ... like montoya...i think only Verstappen save😌
Trust me, we don't need another Montoya.
We had Maldonado
Lord Flashanka
I dont think he would fit in todays f1 with all the tyre saving etc. but speedwise and personality-wise it would be pretty awesome to have him. I think Max could become a lot like JPM but a lot more successful. Shame JPM didnt last a bit longer
"I think Max could become a lot like JPM..."
gets cameraman flashbacks
Lord Flashanka
"OH SORRY"
"AW YOU FUCKING IDIOT"
xD
F1 definitely missed him when he left too early.
Always like Montoya , is a damn good man . Very honest in the way he speaks . The best thing about him is. He enjoys life ....
Another full respect goes out to new owners of FOM. Such clips can only be a benefit for spreading the sport to new markets and souls.
Three cheers for the new guys...
Funny he should mention Seb. I thought Seb was the best example of a downward mental spiral following defeat after defeat. Though Lewis had his share of disasters, seb is definitely the guy who takes losing the hardest.
Poor guy took it so badly, just going nuts with anger and stress this season. I miss the chill Seb. Ricciardo actually let on from his time ad Seb's teammate that Seb is really emotionally-invested, more than most drivers are, in the sport of F1. We definitely saw his frustration from being a few years in a frontrunning team without wins.
Personally, I look forward to the new entrants racing. Hopefully Mclaren, Williams and Force India will be within fighting distance of each other as I want to see Stroll, Vandoorne and Ocon scrapping like mad. It'll be entertaining to watch them grow as drivers as well over the season, like it's been fun watching Max last year.
Lorendrawn to me it seems like for vettel he's just extremely passionate and hates losing more than anyone, and I don't think that's the case for every driver on the grid
"European drivers are very weak mentally" jajaja you are the best Juan.
I am the fans of him at 2002 until 2004
Enjoying this grazie Mille ciao
2018 has ironically shown that Lewis has much stronger mentality than Vettel.
Are you serious?
a black more stronger mentality than the white...
Formula Juan
Live for your bravery montoya
Montoya, cara gente boa, simpático e fera da F1!
Always have been and still are a big fan of him but I just don't agree with his statement about European drivers being mentally weak. He himself has had several times where he didn't have his emotions under control, even F1 as a whole came into his head to the level where he just gave up on F1 all together. We have also seen several South American drivers who cried their eyes out when their car broke down or something so I just don't see where his statement hold up. Fantastic racing driver though.
You know what i mean?
Lap @ Monza you did back in 2004 with BMW it is amazing the fastest ever lap in F1 history
MONTOYA É O CARA !!!!TINHA QUE VOLTAR EM 2020 !!!!!
