I didn't particularly find any part of his analysis new or insightful. A handful of low IQ "China watcher" tropes piled one on top of the other.

Why is this guy considered a expert when it come to theoretical matters when in the realm of practical policymaking all of his "expertise" has been disastrous for America-China relations?
This person is hardly a disinterested or academic analyst - he's a State Department mouthpiece. A new low for this podcast.
These guys are the reasons why America's credibility is down the toilet bowl.
They lack real life experience.
I wondered whether he's been to China before or lived there for a long duration
I think he has good insights. Open your mind a bit and take in information and other viewpoints, instead of being so quick to judge and criticize
