Yes 2 tons isn’t 6k lbs. but who cares it was massive
correct.
2ton = 4,000lbs
@@dustinpadama4347 how you own a company and not know that off the top of your head, should be drilled in lol
Maybe he's was speaking metric...
You hyped that baby tree up man. When I saw it , I literally went ," mannnnn... " . 🤣
I'm surprised it even weighed 2.5k. Looks much lighter.
Quick tip: use 3 rigging straps to make a cradle around the root ball; one strap around rootball (use a shackle to tie both ends together) and loop 2 straps around the first strap on opposide sides of tree. Slide the forks wide and get the straps on so that you have 4 points of contact. Tree rides plumb and doesn't damage the root structure. Chains also work if no straps are available
now i know
I just get them close and slide/push it in and cut the box off after.
I can finally give you some advise T. I’ve planted a ton of 48” box trees. Here in norther California. Use a tree saver strap around the trunk of the tree. And lift it with your excavator. It supper easy that way. Also you should’ve put a drain pipe at the bottom of the hole. The water will puddle and kill the roots. Don’t ask me how I know.
Peace T
Someone missed a lot of phone calls during the tree planting.
Something about watching/doing landscaping is so soothing.
Lmaoooo
You have a great team who have an intense work ethic, love the trees and the equipment.
Yo here's some tips for those: I have installed a bunch of them. Leave the box on spread the forks so it straddles the tree box or if your forks dont go wide enough get the tree very close to the edge and tip it over. take off bottom but leave sides on. Push/Slide tree into hole. Cut straps lift box and fill that hole. Lifting the tree by the trunk most certainly damages a ton of the fine root hairs that help the tree take up water and nutrients roots and will give you a much higher mortality rate. Good luck.
Oh one last thing, you do not need to remove the bottom if you dont want to but if it's a tree that produces a big tap root you may want to.
I used to work For Evergreen Nurseries in Del Mar in the 90’s. This brings back memories. Improvise, adapt, adjust. You could be part of the solution or part of the problem. The biggest tree we put in was a magnolia so big that you could put a swing on it. Delivered it on a step deck standing up because it was too big to lay down.
Nice! Best way to do a 48” box, bust the sides leave the bottom lay it down in front of the hole. Take the bottom off and flip into the hole slowly. Good job though!!
Diggin the constant uploads brotha 😃👌
I’ve never seen boxed trees before. All of our trees come in burlap with metal caging. I always like seeing how other people do things though!
Tigran makes everything look easy!!
Props to the 🐐
Amazing video, never planted anything close to that size but definitely something to shoot for. I always enjoy watching your videos regardless of the length, always great content
Just started watching your vids and I'm hooked! Quality work bro and inspiring me to work harder here in the uk
Biggest tree I've installed was 3, 16-20 ft tall hollies. Weighing in at 6,000 lbs a piece. Lifted them in the holes with a boom truck. Holes were hand dug though. I work for a nursery that also installs, so that is a pretty normal Tuesday for us. My own company on the side has been only dissectum Japanese Maples, but I am getting up there!
Love watching your videos man! Keep making great content!
Planted right under power lines, gotta love it
Hey brotha can’t wait till the spring to get back to seal coating ! Been waiting on snow in norther New York to make money plowing!
Love these new vlogs T so much better then the time lapse you used to do. Keep up the great work man & keep grinding. Dope to see you grow I’ve been following you for over years now.
timelapse is coming soon!
Remove only the bottom planks when planting these trees, strap around the bottom , put your forks thru the straps on the top of the box, lower the tree in the hole, take a big heavy 5 foot long pry bar and cut the straps, pull the 4 supporting boards out, and the tree will love you!
Love the videos .The biggest tree I have ever seen installed is one where it came on a big massive truck it was like 15ft high it was for an acre plot though
24" is the biggest we have done. That was a treat to watch. Great crew Tigren.
Great video T! As always
I saw a contractor install several trees he used some large tow straps Underthe bottom and and just use the fork lift and moved them into the hole and used the lift to pull the straps out. Kinda the way they do when the lower the coffins. Lol👍👍
The biggest tree we have planted was probably around 10' tall. Nothing too big! Awesome job on this project💯
I've been watching ever since you got your yellow dump trailer and never stopped. Good job!!!
wow! thats from 2017!
We’ve done 60” root balls here in Wisconsin and our Case 380 track lifted them just fine.
i love that you keep tackling new shit
Here’s a good general rule of thumb:
24” box=tracked bobcat
36” box=tracked bobcat
48” box= backhoe loader
60-72” box= 12k reachlift
84-96” box= John Deere 644K sized loader
120” box tree=75 ton crane
144” box tree= 100 ton crane
15-35’ BTH date or Mexican fan palm=12k reachlift
15-25’ BTH Canary palm=40 ton crane
Always strap the tree to the equipment, either by chain or strap
Dig the tree pits when the trees arrive, or measure box depth at the nursery. Planting a tree too deep is a sure way to kill it
Always plant large trees right after demo/rough grade. This insures that you can use larger machinery and be more productive
Never try to lift a tree using straps attached to the trunk, that’s a sure way to skin the bark and open up the tree to infection
Hopefully this info helps your next install go more smoothly. Great Job on using what you had to get the job done! Thanks for pumping these videos out!
The biggest tree I have planted was a 240” box Quercus agrifolia. We boxed it, dragged it on metal pipes from its old home to its new home, 200’ away. It was going to need to be removed for new home construction. The homeowner loved it, and paid us close to $187,000 to move it.
wow!
Thank you!
Oklahoma landscape biz here. We do 24"-36" around the city. We like to use a skid and 30" auger attachment to get through the red dirt/clay we have.
That's some equipment right there. Haven't done any trees that big. 45 gallons here.
Everyone's gonna bust your chops over your math. No worries. We all make mistakes. We're all here to learn together. Thanks for the vids, T.
I like the birdseye view the guy on the ladder has, checkin you out. We've planted tens of thousands of trees, always good to be improving mother earth.
Pretty awesome tree. When you said “very nice”it reminded me right away of Borat.
We do 36 inch trees and we dig everything with hand tools i bet its nice to have machines to do that! Good job on the 48 inch trees! You found a good way to do it pretty quick man. Cool that you posted your learning process some people act like they're perfect so pretty cool that you show we are all learning! Shout out Roberto's Lawn Service from Fresno California! Take care bud!
thanks Robert.
Yes next tree install will be way better this one we didnt know much.
Yooo! I’ve never installed something that massive but it was cool to see how y’all figured it out 🙌🏼 dope vid 🤙🏽
Was our first one. next one will be easier
20’ -22’ green giant arborvitae . Need those straps to level on hole. Absolute must!
Done those a few times at the school district. We use a Kabota and remove all the sides and bottom except one side and we use that side to push against the tree and slide it into the hole. 2 guys hold the tree straight as it slides in. Piece of cake.💪🏽
great idea!!!
I had to subscribe. You seem like a real dude with some hard learned experience. I appreciate you making these videos.
Thank you!
In the future you should use the bucket attachment with a chain. Set the bucket to the middle of the tree & wrap the chain around the box & attach on both sides of the bucket. This allows you to set the tree directly into the hole.
Hey T love the videos!! just started my landscaping part of my company been a struggle at first but there always work. Never installed a 48" box tree biggest tree i planted was a 24". Keep the grind up man, God bless (love your Spanish speaking)
haha
Looks tough to install a 48in. tree. Great content T!!
Over here in northern illinois we plant alot of 2.5 inch tree which are usually a 36" root ball, we get a few 48" once in awhile but people's favorite besides a 36" is 54" . Those 54" root ball trees usually range from 10 ft to 16 ft. They could be a little hassle at times.
Yooo the end is priceless haha "I said, Stop Complaining" hahahaha.
Damn this is dope I guess I gotta start one too. Keep it up.
My old boss would expect us to have 10 of these holes ready for trees by lunch using spades and a pickaxe. We got lucky sometimes when the little 318 could use an auger attachment. Another good video, thanks for posting
That’s a baby 👶 tree for us here in portland Oregon
Saludos para el famoso Héctor
How to not plant a tree 101
Nice work!
Isn't 2 tons 4000 lbs?
Correct
of COURSE it is. He didn't check Google, he checked _Goggle_ for that conversion.
Lol oops. mixed up my words
Love the videos. 1550 is a boss! I was wondering when you would get one. I have 1400hrs on my first one and just bought a 2nd 1550. Let me know when you got your next demo and I'll roll down to the bay with my setup and show you how to take full advantage of what the 1550 can do.
Awesome video man , much love from south florida
Awesome job!
You can use a chain around the root so you can stabilize the tree better🖐
That Ditch Witch is beautiful
Your crew and you do good work..
The ditch witch is a beast 💪
got the 12 mini as well
Here in Michigan trees are sold by caliber, 2and half inch in standard they go up to 6 inch. Pine trees sold by how tall they are.
Its caliper...🤦🏽
Different everywhere. Pretty cool 🤗🤗
Anxiety level 100 right there
Planted three 6in dbh oak trees at one job. Big John tree spade on a truck delivered and planted them.
Wass up Ti, I’ve bought several of your programs and they’ve helped me a lot in the landscaping business I’ll highly recommend them to anyone just starting in the business this is the first comment I do on your videos I should be joining the goat gang soon.
Sarasota FL
We spent five months slowly digging up a 30 ft japanese fern tree, digging up only a quarter of the root ball at a time, making sure the tree goes into as little shock/stress as possible.
When it came time to move it we had to transplant it at night cause of traffic, the tree was so wide, it was hanging off both side of the trailer, even after tieing it back, it was talking up almost three lanes of traffic. Fun night!
For your first time doing that, it was a hella lot more graceful than it would have been if I did it the first time that way. Good video (and some helpful comments!)
Graceful..... LMAOOOO
@@isaactaylor1833 LOL I’ve seen much less graceful. 🤷🏼
Dope video man
Props to all my paisas working in landscape, I worked in landscape for about a yr n a half n I hated every minute of it. It’s a tough job especially in the middle of summer
Don't complain .....🤣🤣
Do you extend a guarantee of viability to the end customer for the trees you install?
That thing is beast! When you have tree requirements, you guys go by root ball size? Here in FL we go by trunk diameter. Just curious. Great video!
That is some big trees man hell yeah brother
Amazing video quality, what camera are you using :) ?
Biggest tree my company has planted, a 65 foot royal palm. And canary palms 8 feet ct. the nicest ones.
Great vid!
When riging a tree or poles always wrap around twice so it binds and doesn’t slip up the trunk or pole
noted
Just wondering what you use to find employees in this business? Thanks.
Nice that's pretty cool .
Did you plan on needing to use a jack hammer to widen the hole? That was some hard pac material in there. Quick thinking on your end
Even tho I don’t have no company I love watching your videos 😎
Just found you this evening! great content! go you! did the root flare get exposed here? might be worth a look
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the content!
Very professional
What’s up by boy T💪🏻 keep up the hustle
Someone was smoking some trees lol
Is any fertilizer added to the new tree to help it settle in better?
yeah we added pellets of food inside the tree
I just learned something new
Wawaweewa 😂 The biggest I've installed is a 10ft triple robellini palm. The county allows the tree installation under powerlines?
Love the videos need to post everyday
doing 2 times a week going up from there
Next time dig the hole a bit bigger then 48". Strapa chain around the box. Then one from one side to the other side. Pick it up remove the bottom wood. Then place it in the hole. Then remove the wood boards
Hey love the videos have been watching for 3 years now and never noticed your guys’ shirts and they look really good. What does the thing on one of their arms mean because only one guy has it. Thanks
Are those trees a good idea under those power lines? Or are those power lines going to be put underground soon?
Much better plan of attack on the second one!
Do you give insurance to your clients for planted trees? And how long is the insurance?
It is what it is
Cool vids man. I’m struggling to start in a foreign country but ill make it big one day, i know it.
what country
Next time it might be a good idea to remove the nursery stake and restake the trees. Also it doesn't hurt to scratch the root ball on those big trees, it helps to make sure they don't continue to grow like they are still in the crate.
yeah we scrached the bottoms
@@TigranGertz 👍
Biggest we done is a 64 4 of them I got the pictures of em. Had to order special crane. Literally passed em over the house. Was just a labor at the time was amazing tho.
I guess it Texas we do it different. The biggest tree was 100gal about 3 foot. And we just did 10 of these a couple weeks ago.
YOUR LIFT CAN PICK UP MORE IF YOUR PALLET IS ALL THE WAY UP AGAINST THE FORK FRAME
Keep it up tig! God bless you.......
How much was the tree? How do you recruit those hardworking crew ? In PA here it’s so hard to recruit good help. I would love to go from PT solo to FT. Any bussiness ideas how I can grow ?
Keep up the good work T
