Love your sculpting. Lost my shit when Crafsman shouted out to you in his last video. It’s like finding out Batman and Superman know each other. Super-psyched to see a new video from you, dude.
Great build Dave! The simple clay sculpts end up taking up the most hours( in a good way). Polymer clay sculpting is the greatest post work stress buster there is!
I knew it would get low views but I just needed to do it for me personally. It was fun and totally relaxing so that’s enough for me.😀 Thanks for watching.
That’s where I’m torn… I stink at mold making and they are a tone of small undercuts that would be a nightmare. But I’m totally with you, I don’t want to lose the hand created feel! I may do a hybrid sculpt it first so I understand the 3D shape then do it a second time in 3D software to make duplicates. I definitely won’t give up the hand sculpting because selfishly that’s for me to relax and create with my hands.😃 Thanks
@@DRToysCreationsif it helps, for simpler stuff you can try Sculptris. Its free, pretty easy to use however it IS a bit limited in its scope. Could be a good program though to make a rough shape for a project and then transfer that to a more robust app to finish it off. Looking forward to seeing your practise pieces, sir!
An excellent sculpt! I like how his expression is of "mild annoyance" as if he's seeing something we're not that, to us would be an absolute nightmare, but to his little horned self is nothing more than a bump in the road on what otherwise might have been a pleasant day. I wonder if you could point him at things to see if it makes the thing he's looking at funnier? Anyway, awesome as always! Thank you!
I like to go over my sculptures with a brush and either 90 percent rubbing alcohol or if I really want to get aggressive, use lighter fluid to smooth over the surface of the clay. Just make sure to let the sculpture dry out before you bake it lol! Nice work on the sculpt!
I've also seen sculptors (like Ace of Clay here on CZcams) cure their sculpts in stages. So you create the body itself and bake it, then you can add details without distorting the base form.
like the Simpsons overbite. Color is nice. maybe a flat clear paint over the whole thing to give it a nice texture. or not. might spoil it. if you baked the fins and horns separately, you could glue them on later and make sanding easier.
@@DRToysCreations You're very welcome. Ps You captured the feeling of the illustration perfectly. Most people lose something in translation between page and sculpt. If you wanted, the Chinese writing might be kept with the figure in the form of a little vertical flag, on a mini bamboo pole., you know the type.
A great way to start the month! I love this little guy. The concept was great, but the final is just adorable. I'd love to see more like this. I hope you're having an awesome day, Dave.
That is great looking Dave! I like the colors too and the simple base really adds to the figure. I use Inkscape for line drawings but I know it can be used for art work. Thanks for sharing this.
@@DRToysCreations me too! Cow and Chicken, Ren and Stimpy, the Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Dexters Lab. They were all masterpieces in their own way. Hey, there's a series there - you could do the toys we wanted, but never got 😁
It's amazing how you can turn a two-dimensional illustration into three-dimensional.👍✨ It's so cute that it looks like it's about to start moving.😈💖 In Japan, a koakuma refers to a cute, attractive, and suggestive girl.Did your wife draw this cute little devil illustration? looking forward for next time.😃
Live the result!. I really recommend Nomad 3D. Once you get used to the tool I think it's a strong concentrated program that is JUST for sculpting. What was the spray yiu mentioned that gave you that flocked look? I just printed out a dog and I think that would add some fun to the painted version.
Thanks. I have played with Nomad a little and like it, just gotta find the time to get better at it.😅 I think it’s hobby Bobby’s brand and it’s an acrylic base . It’s called Ironlak- Lak
Kinda… when you have a lot left it dries and pops right out. But if you use most of the paint, which I like to do, its really thin and doesn’t really pop out but is all flaky and stuck. I’m guessing if I take it to the sink it will probably wash out, just haven’t done that yet.😄
The warts were a bit 'much', yes... Maybe one wart / 'beauty spot' on his face and another one on his buttock would've been just right - small details, not overpowering. I am sure all monsters have at least one spot on their bum! :)

This little guy looks awesome ! The grass / moss on the base does add a nice touch

Good to see you bringing your creative demons to life😊

Great sculpt! Don't lose that handmade touch by going 3D render, mold and cast it!

I think he turned out pretty cool. I kinda liked the spots you had on him. But either way it turned out great.
Thanks. I may go back and put like two or three on his bum…😄
so fun and great soundtrack on this one too.
I would love to see a video on character design. I don't have a whole lot of ideas in that department..
Thanks.
I want one!!!! So cool, and so many themes you could do with him. Thinking straight devil colors. Looks awesome 👌
Totally!
I think he's got charm and attitude, i'd definitely paint one up if you get them printed. Would be fun to see people's take on the same little guy.
Thanks. Now I just gotta find time to learn Nomad sculpt…😆

Love it! Love the 2D art as well. (That 2D version would make a great vinyl sticker for a car or laptop, etc.) 😎👍🏻
That would be cool! Thanks!
You are a way better sculptor than you think you are!!! He looks awesome!!! ❤😊❤
Thank you so much 😀
I appreciate that!

Thanks! Will do!
I love it as a great simpsons feel to it great job

Fantastic work once again! Thank you! Graeme.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is adorable, funny and sooo well done! Congrats, don’t make it the last one, he needs a companion 😊
I love that idea! Thanks.
I like it, with or with out the warts. Maybe look at north of the border. He makes really cool sculptures.
I love North of the Border! Thanks
I love it. The design is so cool and the sculpture is amazing!
Thank you so much!
This was awesome. I love your videos! Definitely would love to see you do more of this! Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Will do!
That came out great!
It was a fun one. Thank you
Excellent work! It would’ve been nice to have the purple filling oozing from inside the donut too.
😂 Thanks!

I dunno, I liked the warts. They broke up the teal a little. Maybe they could've been markings or freckles instead?
