What's your FAVORITE way to use up a lot of Jalapenos?
Sup mike, think said before but it's awesome, had jars pickled jalapenos and ready to start again but, I pureed the pickled jalapenos had with green bell peppers, herbs.. used as a pizza sauce, with chorizo, cheese, onions. Going to be a staple so need to pickle more than usual lol. I pickle after can salsas, sauces ect.. nowadays can get jalapeno peppers year round, but garden get an explosion lol. Tyvm tc
We roast them and freeze them for salsa or green Chile and meat dishes that need more heat. Freeze them with the roasted skin on. That keeps a more roasted flavor.
Man love this stuff so I’m really really interested in the chili pickle jalapeños ! Would love the recipe.. cheers
We make a jalapeño cilantro pesto. Freeze in cubes or small containers. Thaw and use on tacos. Yum!
Love that! Perfection right there!
I am making a lot of self-styled salsas and experiment around with different combinations of various ingredients. i do not have to worry about it lasting a long time - it is gone in a day or two. Now with the milder peppers like serranos and jalapeno I do not have any troubles using them up fast, but I see a surge of birds eye coming for me this year, they grow very well. Also, I am drowning in reapers. Most of them are being dried for later use but i could seriously need some insporation here.
Sounds like a great harvest overall! I love to hear it.
I chop them up and put them into a baggie fresh and freeze them. For every things. In breakfast taco, in my home fires, in eggs, Meat loaf, Who don't like Jalapeno Poppers? Put that over some rice. ect. Many Many ways
Lol, too many jalapeños. Not possible. Lol
There are too many different recipes for them. Especially if you are subscribed to this gentlemans channel.
I love making hot sauces, and salsa. Only problem I know of is having enough jars and woozy bottles. 🤣🙂👍
My first Carolina Reaper will be ripe tomorrow, so happy. 😊
Hey, thanks. I appreciate the great comments. I hear you on the bottles, etc. I'm ALWAYS running out of containers for the stuff I make. Good luck with the Reapers. NICE.
I agree. I love my peppers Green chilies, Orange Habaneros YUM, Cayenne, YUM, and i can't do with out MY OLD FAVORITE ? > JALAPENO YUMMY
I've been growing hot peppers for years and always looking for recipes. I forget more often to make a jam usually i pickle them. Thank you sir.
You are so welcome!
Just finished making the jalapeño bottle caps and boy oh boy, we are addicted. Of course my husband and sons are all chili heads and I have a feeling these will be their favorite snack from now on. Thank you Mike.
Glad they enjoyed them! I appreciate it!
Finally a video that answers my questions I grow lots of jalapeños I dry them out and make hot sauces and can them but that’s just three ways.
My Gaspacho Jalapeño hot sauce came out perfect this year!
I am glad to hear that!
Thank you for these VERY helpful tips!:-)
I will enjoy trying a few.
You are very welcome - enjoy!
New ways to save foods for the future is always a blessing. Especially with simple instructions.
👍
So true! Enjoy!
I tried a new one this year. I sliced jalapenos and soaked then in tequila which I then used to make jalapeno watermelon margaritas. They were a big hit.
Absolutely loving it!!
Cornbread with cowboy candy on top is a great one and who doesn't like jalapeno poppers. I grow several different bicolored and even tricolored jalapeno and poblano both so any recipes calling for stuffing either looks like a true work of art. Thanks for sharing.
That sounds fantastic to me!!!
This is a very good video for those that grow or buy a large amount of jalapeños. There is one that you did include that I use every year, and that is to roast them then put them in freezer bags. Anytime you need them for a dish take out a bag from the freezer. They last a very long time and are more flavorful after roasting.
Great input - thanks!
I just made your creamy jalapeno sauce today. Holy crap it is amazing. Thanks!!!
Glad you liked it!!
Last year I did cowboy candy, pickled jalapeños, and dried jalapeños. This year I'm gonna look at your jelly and jam recipes and try them.
Sounds great! Enjoy!!
You left out: Chili. and Nachos.
I already make most of these, but the cowboy candy was a surprise. I will definitely give that a try. My favorite is the chili pickle. I eat that at every meal.
Enjoy for sure!
I usually make a hot sauce with the peppers and it lasts us into fall. These are excellent options, thank you!
Hot sauce is such a GREAT way to use them up, and enjoy through the year. I love it.
My favorite ways to use lots of jalapeños are #2, #6, and #9 🙌. I want to try some of the others, especially hot sauce 😄. Great video!
Awesome!! I appreciate it!
Another great video Mike! I usually do chili sauce (your recipe) or chili oil which I use for our home made pizza. I often enhance the oil with rosemary twigs for that mediterranean resinous flavor. Have a great day.
Thanks, Mako! I appreciate it. I love the rosemary addition. I'm growing rosemary again this year, and it's nice to be able to snatch some out of the herb garden anytime I like. Great stuff!
Good ideas!
Merci pour les idées surtout avec les carottes.. très appétissant
You are very welcome! =)
Great video man..
Thanks!!
For use in cooking or salsas just freeze them whole. Then do what you want later.
Go for it!
I think I'm the only one in my family who likes the heat ( Not the Flame Yet) Will be making the Jalapeno Dip soon.
Let me know how it goes, William. Enjoy!
Jalapeño cheddar bread
YES. I just made another loaf of that.
The guy literally wrote the book on dehydrating peppers
I did! I love my dehydrator. =)
Smoke red jalapenos. Make chipotles and add them to everything. I usually add canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce to my salsas. But when you can make your own it's so much better. Also, Smoked Cayenne. It's so good.
I love it!
G'day from Australia. Did you say " mate"? I might as well do every suggestion. I've been doing cowboys candies using star anise as well. Cheers mate! 😁
G'Day! I visited Australia 15 years ago or so, and can't wait to go back. Drove along the eastern coast and will never forget it. Star anise would be AWESEOME with candied jalapenos. I use it in my chili crisp. It's a huge flavor builder.
Give some to family and friends.
I'll take some. =)
Wow, a glut of jalapenos, here in the UK, is but a dream 😒 😂😂😂
I wish I could send you some!
@@ChiliPepperMadness maybe if the hot weather continues, the ones I am trying to grow may produce a glut 👀
Good luck!
Just to help the algorithm.
Haha It's very nice of you...
I would love to have your recipe on how to make homemade hot sauce I make salsa but have never made hot sauce thank you

Just a question. In your opinion does leaving them on vine longer until they turn change the taste or heat level ? Thanks
Not really, though you'll get a touch more sweetness as they ripen, especially to a deep red.
@@ChiliPepperMadness thanks heaps 👍 sweet sounds great.
I'm sure everyone knows Pico de Gallo (uncooked salsa) with chopped onions, peppers (red bell and green jalapeno), tomatoes, garlic, cumin, salt, lime juice and cilantro .. to dip your chips in or have as a topping with your savory Mexican dishes.
Perfection! Great way to use up that garden harvest.
jalepeno cornbread
How about Nachos? is another great way to use them MANY MANY WAYS AND THINGS
Perfection!
How are you chopping without gloves? I must be sensitive because I was in complete torture for an entire night when I didn't wear them! It was awful.
On another note, do you ever make jalapeno powder? I can't wait to try some of these recipes!
Yes, you have to wear gloves if you are sensitive. I am OK with it though. But it's very personal. As for the jalapeño powder, check this one out: www.chilipeppermadness.com/recipes/roasted-red-jalapeno-powder/ Enjoy!
Make a list and take a picture.
i wanna plug an harddrive inside one of these pepper i wonder what kinds of information data it has
That would be neat, huh?
Or the food bank has well....a lot of peppers and 12 pks of Kill Cliff, Special Edition Smokin' Joe Rogan's Ignite! Clean Energy Drink and not much else....its why I'm literally here! 😅
