Thank you so much for your very calm and logical description with steady video of how to remove the steering column module. It made this portion of changing the barrel much simpler.
What type of screw did you use from the micobit set you purchased from Walmart? Also can you please share the microbit set information? I’m attempting to remove the same screw & need to purchase a set with the screwdriver to remove it.
Hyper Tough 44 Piece Precision Multi-type Screwdriver Bits Set TS99913A It’s a torques, not sure what size but that should be easy enough to figure out. Good luck
Did this double-checked everything all my wires are connected everything is hooked up correctly replace the battery in my key I don't have the keyless entry I have a normal key just like in the video and when I start the car it dies it says no key detected
@@enrestmoore357 not sure if anything stands out to you, I would assume it’s a bad connection somewhere, there are a bunch of little ones. Have you tried it again a few hours later. I had an issue with the mobilizer 1 time, waited till the next day and it fired right up and hasn’t been an issue since
thank you for the video i just cant believe you took that off without removing the steering wheel
Legend I did take away that one tip about the centre clip on the sensor box. You're doing the Lord's work sir

Life saver! That middle clip on the box under the wheel had me stumped! I was able to use a small Allen wrench to get it.
Me too man, I felt like something was going to break, so I went searching

@@ckrummy13 just removed em on my BIL's 2010 Jetta earlier today. Were T25 for me.
@@bjthebrain968that tiny one is not a T25. I really need to know what size it is.
@@motodorkI’m sure you’ve got it by now, but for anyone in the future - that very tiny bolt at the front of the steering sensor box is a T9
Approximately how many wire did you unplug from the cylinder it self
I believe it’s either 1 or 2. 1 is on the main body and the other is for the key reader but that might be a different part.

Thanks For The Follow Through On The Procedure ….
What should I do if I replaced my ignition cylinder it worked at first but then now my key is not turning again
Make sure it’s not stuck on the steering lock. After that, maybe a warranty issue?
Does anyone know the part number?

Any chance you damaged the receiver while you had it apart?

Mine failed at the gas station like 2 months ago very annoying
I fixed it, but now my horn doesn’t work anymore.
Hmm not sure how that’s related. I would recheck your electrical connections. It would have to be something unhooked.
@@ckrummy13mb yea I didn’t have it all properly connected 😔
