I will say… I’ve learn some Kung Fu, some Tae Kwon Do, some BJJ, and some Thai boxing… and if you pull a Bruce Lee, which is totally a thing, you can make your own style and integrate some techniques of kung fu and execute some seriously effective techniques. But as a style on its own? It doesn’t stand up in a street fight anymore. It’s limited because it’s sticking to certain movements that don’t apply because there are whole new fighting styles out. I appreciate it and it had its time but as far as effectiveness goes Kung Fu by itself is a thing of the past.

That’s a really high possibility in a knife fight, I remember almost 15 years ago when I was on my to Iztapalapa Mexico City, my job was almost 40 mins away from my home, and I had to take the subway every day go to my job and to go back home, I remember every night on my way home right before I exited the subway station there was a really tall homeless dude, like 6’5, and every time he saw he asked for a some coins, the first time I gave him like 5 pesos because I like to give to people that are in need, the fucked part started when this dude started demanding money from me, at the beginning only 10 pesos then 20 pesos, I got really frustrated and mad about this situation because I didn’t want to confront him to avoid any issues with him, because I knew he was from that barrio, and I thought that if I got into a fight with him he would tell others from around the zone and they’ll kill me, this situation of him demanding money from me lasted like 2 months, I remember that one night I told him to go f himself and he pull out a little kitchen knife and he told me that he’ll end me right there, that night I gave him everything I had on me, but one night I was prepared, I had a 15 inch knife and a Glock in my backpack and I was ready for anything, the same thing happened and I pull out my knife and I told him I was going to k him, he pull out his little kitchen knife and he actually tried to stab me, I started swinging and I cut his wrists and arms without even getting close to him, he got so scared that he started begging for his life, I was so mad at him that I really wanted to end him, but I only broke his cranium and stabbed his legs, so what I want to say is that if you have a huge knife, there’s a high possibility of winning that fight

And using the knife as they use it doesn’t make any sens in a real knife combat. One cut doesn’t stop u and everyone fight until de blood is gone, it’s dirty, smells like metal, and shit. Everyone is cut if both have a knife, and this kind of fight are really ugly.

Notice the difference maker was when the winner guy was in battle he went to block the arm with not only his hand but the knife point too making the guy have to look from his normal focus to up towards his hands to protect them letting the guy drop the knife coming forward swinging in for the stab. Very quick and nicely done.

If a vest can stop a knife, it’s not going to stop a bullet Vice versa. You have to decide if you going to be more likely stabbed or shot. Vest that claim to do both are good at neither. Could go into the science of it all, but just wanted people to know. A vest that can take bullet will be punctured by a blade. A vest that stops blades will be punctured by a bullet. Their designs are completely different, why I have different types depending on what I’ve been called in to do.
