You would probably agree that Pep Guardiola is the greatest football manager of all time, and he has coached some of the best talents like Messi, Iniesta, Haaland and Xavi. But guess who he considers the most talented player he has ever coached. It is, wait for it, Phil Foden. Pretty surprising, right?
Well he is living up to Pep's expectations by being one of Man City's best players this season. He even helped them win games in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, who is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders of all time. We could even compare Foden to another footballing great, Ricardo Kaka. That's because right now, he looks like one of the best midfielders in the world.

Foden is so special yet underrated... he is a joy to watch more especially on the midfield

I think Pep has done Foden a huge favour for his career by not over-playing him at a young age. There are so many prodigies who had seriously under-whelming or short-lived careers because they were played too much too young, Michael Owen, Ronaldo R9, Eden Hazard just off the top of my head almost have an asterix next to their name due to injuries despite 2 of them being Ballon D'or winners and the other missing out because he was up against CR7 and Messi! Owen and Ronaldo were pretty much done by their mid-twenties and Hazard barely made it to 30. Foden isn't under-rated, he just has a good manager and plenty of playing time ahead of him.
Pedri has been bit overplayed by Fc Barcelona, because Bartomeu ruined the club and they had no option for any other great mid-fielder except Pedri. I hope Pedri will get into great form by his by 20s, that he could winnthe champions league with Fc Barcelona and world cup with spain in 2030.
CR7 and Messi played just as much, if not more? They took care of themselves

Where does he fit for England though? He isn’t going to play in Saka’s position, and he’s not going to be a 10 because Bellingham is better, and he isn’t a 6 or an 8 so won’t play in the centre of midfield. Where would you start him for England?
@@gpzfan5272unfortunately he's not gonna get started then is he. Le Tissier, Fowler, Andy Cole, Ian Wright, Steve Mcmanamon were all great players that got overlooked for the England squad because other players were justcas good / if not better / god knows what managers think. Shit happens.

iniesta and messi were young.. but their talents were easy to see there..
Xavi gets no respect from so many because he wasn't a dribbler, he relied on 3 or less touches to get the job done. The fact is Barcelona have never been the same since he left

Such a joy to watch this young man play.
His "touch" is just magical to watch. Receiving the ball, left-right-left shoot score so fast you have to watch it in slow motion to work out what just happened. He makes it look effortless.
Phil Foden is IMO one of the best players I've ever seen. Not just for his obvious talent, but his attitude and application. I really hopes he continues to progress his game, yet while retaining his enthusiasm and personal happiness.
this season foden has already started showing himself to the world that he's a manchester city key player for example the derby match against manchester united, he was the one who pushed city up from them losing by 1 point to them making a comeback and finally to them bagging the win, let's all just make an agreement that phil foden will eventually prove to be one of the best of the bests if you don't agree with me just check his stats and compare them to the greats just don't forget that he's still on the come up and has plenty people in his way in other to become a fully grown great

Underrated player, people forget that he had to get surgery last season, Grealish got into the team and his form improved during Fodens injury
As a city fan who watches every game without fail, Phil and Rodri have comfortably been our 2 best players this season. Rodri just controlling every game he plays in and Phil was winning us matches week in week out while Haaland & KDB were out injured for ages
He's definitely very talented and hard-working. It will be very interesting to follow his development ☺️

I always say to people that Foden's the most underrated player in the Premier League. They always reply that people do rate him, which is true but nowhere near enough imo. Especially considering his age.
He will have to go abroad to get the ballon d’or. Bit like how Bellingham has already realised that, but Foden seems a lot more ‘English’, and by that I mean in general the English footballers don’t like to leave the country. Which is a shame cause he’d level up for sure.
