I was 13 when Forest won the league . Great memories of my late father and I at the city ground throughout the years. Thanks dad , thanks Brian Clough and Peter Taylor and thank you very much Nottingham Forest. MAGIC!!!

I'm a United fan and remember well watching from the Stretford End as Forest dismantled us 4-0. Great side at the time. 👍🏻

I love how Peter Withe talking about going to Leeds and the immaculate pitch there, and then you watch highlights of the match and the pitch is a bloody swamp

Nottingham Forest were a formidable team. And they were a real team in which each player worked for the others to create something much greater than the individual parts. The parts, mind, also had quality: players who could make chances, players that could take chances, players that could punish you in front of goal, players that were tenacious in the tackle in the middle and as tough as teak at the back. Forest were competitive from front to back and had players who could score in all positions. They were a tough, competitive unit that combined resilience with a cutting edge. Quite a collection of players, too: players who had been around a bit and knew their way around, players who were now realising their potential, and young players on their way to becoming international footballers.

Happy memories. The big flag at Coventry ( forest are magic) is my big brother and myself. I can remember my mum sitting up on the Friday night making it.

Kenny Burns was a striker. Clough and Taylor made him a full time centre back.
He was the player of the year!

I'm a Chelsea fan but I always liked Forest at this time because they played good football. I remember this season very well, Chelsea were one of the few teams to beat them.

Great to relive some great, never to be repeated memories. , Leicester s 2016 premiership was terrific being bottom at xmas the previous season but it pales in comparison with what Forext achieved then to go on and win two European cups when champions only qualified not the top four , well I rest my case !

Don't forget getting to three successive league Cup finals. And being the first team to win two in a row

Brings back memories...where footballers were real men, that played as a team, fight as a team, and not whiny ,rolling on the ground from a little nudge, showboating kids like we have now

Martin O’Neill is my favorite Forest player ever… I wasn’t alive to see him play, but when he touches the ball, it’s obvious that he was a World Class midfielder.

Derby in 1972, Forest in 1978 and Leicester in 2016. The East Midlands is the land of football miracles.

Notice how many left footed players forest had at that time.I was ten by then but I did not know how important that was for the effectiveness of that great team.❤

Nice simple review with latest high tech computer wizardry! Seeing players in the mud & grime how we wish it would come back to today's perfect sterile pitches. Liverpool v Forest fixtures in the next few years would always have a special feel about them. Odd for Forest Directors to give Clough & Taylor a Testimonial after only two years, anyway Clough & probably Taylor were 'acquiring' funds shall we say on their wheeling & dealing. Face it, it went on, as Managers weren't well paid compared to top players.

There really should be a more updated professional video to commerate that fantastic season - Forest deserve it. Why didn't they include any footage and the final whistle from the away game v Coventry that won the league? The brilliant Shilton save in that game, where is it? The video is all about the league winning season but omits the most important and significant game!!! 😮

  • @christopherwright8811

I still, 44 years on, can't understand why Withe packed it in at the end of the season to join a thoroughly mediocre, relegated Newcastle (my team). Two years of midtable in division two followed and then off he went to Villa, won them the title and then finally got the European Cup winners medal it looked like he would never get. Newcastle took another four years or so to go up. And then would go back down again in 1989...
