I can almost hear Tom up there responding to relevant events in the news. And even though the Secretary of State angrily asks us to point on a wordless emergency map where the nearest exit is, WHENEVER he hears US say it, This Is NPR.
I was in one of those big box book stores the first time I heard this story. They had headphones so you can hear samples of the CDs before buying them. One CD that caught my eye was The Best of Car Talk so I put the headphones on and listened to this particular story. I swear people must have thought I was high or something because I was laughing so hard, tears running down my face, and just losing it! I sure miss these guys.
I listened to this 3 times and sent the url to my brother and I still can`t see because my eyes are so filled with tears of laughter and my stomach hurts.
@1fanger I think my side was hurting for 20 minutes of side splitting laughter after hearing this for the first time 15-20 years ago. Found "Best of " in thrift store on cassette. Still have it. And don't drive like my brother. : )
Tom you're one of a kind. I don't know how many times I've listened to this but I always end up with tears in my eyes from laughter. there never.will be nothing like these two again. We miss you Tom and rest in peace
