I love the superchargers! Less heat under the hood & that sound⊠damn! Your a freakin workhorse knocking out these projects like they are quick fix đđ»đđ»
I try brother. Iâm actually taking a few days off at the moment to unwind though. đ„”â
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I don't know how you do it. Lot of work busting these projects out. You must really love having a lift now.
I'd love an auto supercharged car like that, I daily drive my 89 5.0 so I'll probably stay basic gt40 with a cam like it is now but MAN some boost would be sweet
Nothing wrong at all with a nice Gt40 setup brother!
When comparing sound, you really need both RPMâs to be exact for the Vortechâs since a slight change in rpmâs gives different sound pitches. Actually my old OG A trim with straight cut gears sounded insane, I just uploaded a quick video back in 1997 when I put it on.
Heard an A trim a few weeks back. Pulled the trigger on a T Trim straight cut gears for my Leviâs cj jeep. I guess itâs no longer a sleeper with the whine đ
I always liked your videos. You do not go overkill like most people who own fox body Mustangs. It seems everyone has to have the most horsepower of the town and it gets old quick! Keep up the good work!
I still run a clutch fan on my s-trim 306. Never had cooling issues. Great content!!
Thanks bud đȘ
I just bought my first fox body (89GT w/T5) last week and this channel had something to do with it. I love your videos and you put out awesome info with amazing cars!!! Iâd like to keep my fox pretty reliable so Iâm on the fence of adding boost in the future but that On3 Turbo set up you have on the your calypso foxâs is amazing. Anyways, big fan over here and just subscribed=)
Honestly for me a straight cut gear supercharger is more nostalgic than anything. Centrifugals are extremely tame as well. Turbo is just where the easy power is at.
Having a Turbo car and S/C car makes the channel alot of fun.
Loving the T-Trim. I had to do the Contour fans to keep mine cool in the summer.
Thanks brother. I may have to as well once we really drive the car
On3 turbo on my 90 LX. Hard to beat for the price but man I could do without all that heat under the hood. Luckily my mechanical fan hasnât had any issues keeping it cool.
Absolutely loved the comparison, really enjoyed the voiceover as well, the diversity in these cars is one of the greatest things you've brought to this channel. They are each their own animal. It really does come down to personal preference because they all make power! I don't ever plan on making 775hp on the street lol but the Si will be plenty for me when I'm ready for a blower.
Thanks, the Si or even SCI is a great option imo
Now that is a great comparison video! đŻ Nice well thought out choices in parts that fit the builds you have in mind! I definitely agree with you on the supercharger you choose for the Carbon Fox. Swapping the turbo and supercharger between Calypso Fox and the Carbon Fox would make great content for your channel! đŻđđŸ
Thank ya đ€ thatâs absolutely a possibility for next year
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Right on Bro! đ€đŸđ€
Great comparison. Probably the best I've Hurd between turbo vs centrifugal supercharger.
Thanks brother âđ
Sounded like you had your ice skates in the dryer for a minute there.
If you grab a fan controller off a edge or explorer. 1 from the terminator x and a custom table to control fan speeds, on and off vs rpm. Cant beat it đ€đŒ
Great comparison on the superchargers and their setups, both are very different unique sounds. The SI would be
more incline to get versus the TI because of the room factor, and also in agreement with a clutch fan over electric
fan, but again it depends on the situation too.
The Si is just a great blower in a small package đȘ
I'm a Paxton novi 2000 Renegade guy the only supercharger that I really liked. the Vortec S trim kind of sucked on my 408 StrokerDSS motor and my friend let me borrow a YSI which I really like also
as soon as you start compressing air, air starts to heat up, an intercooler is always beneficial.
If you're looking for as mechanical as possible, could always 12 valve swap. Check out coalstang if you haven't.
That said, I want a big inch 9.5 deck carbed TKX driver. Maybe a 4 cylinder car to start.
Truly love the different set-ups, I've never had a turbo car and until a year ago never had a supercharger of any kind, so I love the fact I get to see with you having 3 different set-ups, I get to choose with a little homework if you will, just what I wanna do next, I put the V1 on myself as I put a 331 in my 90 GT, kinda wish I went NA to start with to see how good it run versus supercharger, and I'm going 351W base on my 90 LX 5.0 Hatch, I probably gonna start in 2023, should have my f100 done by then it's gonna be 429 powered
Damn bro you got a lot of projects going on yourself! That F100 is going to be sweet with a 429 in it. Those are getting harder to come by these daysâ
My uncle has had it put away for 30 years
I'd love to see a 4 eye carbed foxđȘđȘđ€đ€
4 eye notch back carbed
I'm thinking that the Renegade would look delicious on a stroked 351w base... Just sayin... no pressure for 351w content... at all.... or is it?
Lmao. I hope at some point we can make that happen. đ€
Those cars sound great! That whistle never gets old.
Love the new intro .
Thank you for all that you do for the Fox community bro
Thanks Jason đ€
I had a 03 lightning that was almost stock with the acception of being pullied and an exhaust. That truck made me extremely partial to the supercharger. I'm hoping one day I can have an si on my fox. Dont mind me just dreaming.
I loved my lightning! The instant power from the roots charger đâ
Carburetor is a good way to run a little more boost without an intercooler
Exactly!
Carbon Fox just sounds epic, love it. I've always played with Nitrous, never had anything with a Supercharger, I love the sound of a Supercharger, something about Turbo's I find a bit intimidating for some reason. As an electrician wiring is typically up my alley but automotive wiring can be a pain in the but. Loving the content man, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks bud, Iâm ok with wiring itâs just the idea of something going wrong and not catching it in time. Itâs happened on the calypso. If Iâm being honest the wire just got pulled out due to my own stupidity.. but it happens đ€Ł
@@BREW2LFOXBODY sure does, there's a reason KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) is so effective, lol.
Exactly
Cool comparison. I never question why you do something. They are your cars. Just keep sharing this cool stuff.
Great job with the variety of power adders on your cars! If you go carb just get a 4th car! These comparisons from one owner are priceless in helping me choose my power adder ! Keep up the great work! You have been wrenching hard!
Good idea! Now just convince Mrs Brew2L lol
If itâs her idea you donât need to convince her!
New favorite car on the channel. She sounds great đđœ. And auto. Need some draggy times see how she runs
đ€ as soon as we get the tune finished and Matt gives me the go ahead Iâll definitely be testing it.
Also can use nitrous. I got a buddy that uses a 50 shot to cool iat.
Yes sir. I think I'm going to put my kit back on just for that purpose. Little direct port 50 wet shot.
Love the supercharger content. That temp guage is riding high but I guess it is fine. Thanks for the content
Yeah the gauge isnât correct and Iâm sure the system wasnât burped yet
Man I love all of your builds and I love learning about everything. Iâve went towards the turbo because It was a little more in my budget at the time but I really love supercharger as well! Thanks man! I still love that Retro fox man!
Thanks bud, nothing wrong with a turbo build â
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Yes sir! Thank you for giving me the motivation to keep going! I love your channel!
Vortec does make a cooler as well, its just a extra 2k which is outrageous in my opinion. Id like to see someone do a review on a pony down turbo setup vs the on3
Interesting my Novi1500 (V2 Ti) is in between, slightly lower whistle than the V1 Ti (but very noticeable with hood down) and loud gear meshing noise when you're close to it.
sooo, you have compared how they sound by having both running at the same time, .... how did you think that was a fair and smart thing to do.
Been awhile since I watched and dang brother your fleet is kick ass. I saw the carbon fox at Ford takeover and I promise videos don't show just how clean that car is! I have had turbos and always wanted a healthy size procharger like a f1x or f2. I actually won the raffle car at Ford takeover and may do a 351 with a procharger when it's her time under the knife. Anyways keep up the good work brother!
Just wish these superchargers could make a fox whine like a terminator does
Both of those cars are awesome. Iâm not much of an auto fan but the Carbon fox is bad ass. Keep on keeping on my manđȘ
I think you should go back to a stock ecu and fan on the turbo car. Iâm sure it will make you enjoy it again.
The bottom line is Vortech kits are 100% more reliable IMO then turbo kits. I have had the same Vortech car for 15 years and its never once let me down and I just now had to rebuild my blower. In Nor Cal I do have intake temp problems in 100 degree weather and meth only helps at WOT but you knew that. Perfect setup is Vortech with meth and custom Inter-cooler. My car heat soaked is a turd compared to when the intake temps are lower from the weather. But great videos and love the foxbodys they look top notch and dont you EVER put a carb on a fox lol haha
Supercharger way easier to install than a turbo, also easier to reverse as well. Once you start going north of 10 psi then meth or E85 should be put in.
Good comparison video ilove both power adders, you can't make a bad choice, comes down to personal preference.đđŸđđđŸđđŸ thanks for sharing as always. BTW glad to be 667 to break up that you know. đ đđ đ
I'm with you on electric fan really don't save that much power by the time you add the extra load to the alternator and just more things to go wrong
Big twin fans pull about 1/2 HP, according to dyno tests.
@@hotrodray6802 I don't really worry about the horsepower I like the simplicity of a mechanical fan but I'm not racing my car might be different if I was
on camera I like the sound of the SI better might have a different opinion in person because things sound completely different in person.
Man I have built my fair share of drag cars been playing with turbos since mid 90s when tech was minimal. I would much rather have a supercharger now days especially doing the street race and no prep racing itâs easier to tune and put power down
Shit you ain't just Whistlin Dixie!!!! Both sound phenomenal!!!đȘđ€
Ti with cog style belt all day
Good morning,
Nice set ups. Do all your cars run the stock fans with upgraded radiators? Any reason why you choose not to use electric fans?
Love the videos. What are your thoughts on a kenne bell supercharger?
đđ
No fans needed above 30 mph.
Big elec fans usually pull more air below 1100 rpm.
I use a hand held anometer to measure air flow in front of the condenser. No guessing involved.
Bear in mind that under drive pulleys slow everything down so you lose stock fan cooling, coolant flow through water pump, and alternator charge.
Hard to beat the stock set up with a PROPER working fan clutch.... Remember, they wear with use and the fan turns slower. Often less than 50% of wp rpm when engaged. NO fan clutch locks up 100%. It's pretty tough to determine the clutch condition by turning it. Only airflow counts. Jack at Vintage Air said that a good standard clutch turns @65%, and a HD turns @ 80%. Generally speaking. $20 air flow meterđđđ
JME/JMO đđđșđž
I put a HD on the '90 once and it sounded like a C47 taking off. Never kicked out until 72 mph, should have kicked out about 40.
Got my money back, went standard. Cools fine on mild engine.
Do you have problems with air leaks on the Hartman plastic intake?
Do you kno if it's possibly to run a clutch fan on a 94-95 5.0 motor? I just dropped the motor in my 88 project car but I would also prefer the clutch fan over the wiring of electric
Im thinking about getting a V1 vortech. Any issues running them in hot weather?
what size upper pulley are you running on the t trim??
I know how you feel I got electric fan on my 68 F100 does a good job I still rather have a manual to each his own... and a manual fan on the 93..
Yes sir. Nothing wrong with an electric fan.
Hi Brew, quick question are your mechanical fans loud? I love mechanical fans, but the fans are almost louder than the exhaust.
Brew2l...love your vids with all the great content BUT what makes you choose a blower over a turbo???
Didn't he say that?
Great Video Man!!
Both cars sound good!!
Got a ti on my mach 1. Thing is so loudđ
I think you need another fox with a ysi just to complete the set!
Love the content brew2l any chance we might see a sn95 on the channel at some point? Those cars get a lot of hate but I feel they have potential
Do you think you will need meth injection (aitâs) on retro if you drove it a lot in the summer? Thanks again for all your content.
I donât think so just driving the car. But if I were racing it in the summer I would probably say yes
Can the si be done with speed density? Mine's as stock as they get. And trying to keep it that way to a degree, but would like the added snort
Time for a 4 eye build sir đ
Iâd love to have one âïž
What pulley do have for your tensioner on your SI trim? I can't get mine to quite the hell down
What i dont like about a manual fan is... when its louder than the supercharger when doing a burnout lmao
What filter is that on the turbo? I need that! Thanks man
I have a 363 with 10:1 any opinion on running 9lbs of boost on that thing with 93 octane?
How come you have waste gate on intake pipe;?
Random but whatâs your thoughts on the 86 mustang gt ?
How hot does your supercharged 2 tone run on temp ?
You know it going to split the block, if it not a dart block, 251 probably can hold it, but not a 302 block, asks me how I know, I split my 3o2 block.
Sounds amazing love blower wine
Youâre misleading people by saying that the Ti isnât far from a YSI. Must have been the fumes from not opening your garage door. Or youâre not familiar with a big blower.
Itâs not for most people..
Interesting my v1 t trim sounded more like your retro fox.
Was that temp gauge accurate on the test drive?
I was about to ask that. thatâs super hot
Boy Carbon about to lay down the law
What type of breather you got on the T-trim on the valve cover ? Looks good. Does yours leak oil onto #1 spark plug? Had to cover mine with arm swear band.
I have a question whatâs better vortech or procharger take price out of the factor?
Iâve never owned a procharger but I bet you couldnât go wrong either way. Iâd guess the Vortech would be easier to install though.
Blower ont he red car sounds dry, like not enough enough oil flow.
Would have been nice to see the carbon fox with a n/a stoked Windsor or a forged nitrous setup instead of two blower cars.
đșđž
I don't care, I'll take either one, they are both bad a_ _.
I donât know why I clicked on this, but fuck you buddy and your cars are cool as hell my dream cars to being a GM mechanic. Donât worry Iâm the truck mechanic, you should make one into a drift coupe and twin charge it
