- The Heli Safe Tubing Kit allows anglers to use the popular Heli-Safe System now with Tubing!
Many venues ban leaders or insist on having a length of tubing on your mainline, as well as the ability to drop your lead on a take. Before now, this meant an entire range of rigs were not allowed to be used. Thanks to the product development team at Korda, this hurdle has now been conquered.
Korda Koach, Rob Burgess, walks us through how to set up the new Tubing Kit, the advantages to using it and explains where he would set the top bead for different situations!

Perfect for all those leader bans! 👍🏻
Great to see it back
great explanation agene by Rob , I find that this guy had great attention to detail witch results in a excellent instructional .
Definitely gonna give this one a go! Would be perfect for my day ticket lake!
Brilliant bit of kit 👍🏻
Another superb innovation
Thank god new products
the heli safe design is one of the best innovations to come out from the Korda stable, in line with the original PVA funnel web. amazing for stiff hinge and chod lovers. well done Korda.
I use helecopter set ups with most of my fishing with a few bottom rigs obviously with pop up set ups if I use them .one thing that should be banned is leaders and leadclip set ups still can't understand why anglers still use that dangerous set up.
Korda actually bought the heli safe from Martin locke at solar. So not really a korda innovation.
Genius idea!!
I have just wasted an hour and a half of my time trying to use this kit with super heavy dark matter .
The tubing is 2mm in diameter 🤬if you have some earlier dark matter it is 1.5mm that works!
I thought I would let you all know before spending your hard earnt cash.
I have informed Korda about this
Nash tungsten tubing bead fits an release perfectly on the dark matter tubing
£10+ for 2 rigs without anything else £6.50p + once you had a Korda lead. That's without the tubing hook link etc. if crack of happens. for a couple of bits of plastic prices is getting silly now
You don't mind watching the free videos on CZcams though do you?😂😂
That's got to be the most muggy reply ever
Great idea 💡. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
i’ve only just started fishing, does this connect to your mainland it to a hooklink? thank you
Where does spring come from or is that separate
About time things got sold in packs of 3 isn't it!!??
What’s best tubing for this that fits, the tubing you say your using no way fits
💪🏼
I've just got my kit to try this coming season. The lead doesn't drop off like in the video. I have watched over and over again and done everything as the video shows but the spring part is very stiff. Any help please?
Can you make a video showing chod kit how to use properly
Is a size 8 swivel or qc ok
is there a complete list of the items required and sizing for each part required to complete this Heli-Safe rig?
Apart from the tubing and ring swivel all you need is the heli safe kit and heli safe tubing kit
Bought 3 complete sets, but although tried as hard as I could, everything was WAY too tight, was snapping the heavy tungsten rig tubing more times than I can count trying to pull the sleeve and stem through the tubing
Threading the tubing through*
I’ve had exactly the same problem! Snapped so much tube trying to thread it!
I’ve had the same issue tonight! Such a pain but in the video it looks dead simple
Have exactly the same problems, also found that once I finally get it all together its impossible to reposition the sleeve on the tungsten tubing should I need to.
I've found works alot better with their original tubing, it's abit thinner 👍
Still doesn't fix the issue of how a fish can't easily pull the rig off the tubing against the no trace bead in the event of a crack off etc if the lead has been discharged. At least when you don't dump the lead the weight of it will always naturally pull downwards ensuring the rig travels towards the no trace bead, eventually leading it to pull off as intended and free itself of the tubing/leader.
the bead at the top falls off and runs free
@@LiamJProduction I know how the system, in principle, should work. But if the leads discharged, what's to ensure the rig travels up the leader towards that bead rather than the wrong direction towards the helisafe? Nothing... that could lead to the trailing line tethering a fish potentially.
i've heard this said and it makes sense. but the same is true for any other set up. lead clip for example, lead is discharged (or not), fish is left trailing line from whereever the breakage happened but plus/minus the lead. same is true for running lead set up. heli safe with the lead set to discharge is no less safe than those set ups. or am i missing something? the safest set up would be to use a barbless hook.
@@sid110785 The Heli safe with the lead still attached though would give it a far better chance of getting the rig off the leader, leaving the fish with just the rig rather than trailing X amount of line. That's my point....
👍
used helicopter a few times and my anxiety kicks in feeling like everything tangled when i know it aint and i bring it in any tips? sounds daft but i really wonna use this
Only thing I can suggest is, keep faith in yourself, maybe a antitangle sleeve on top of the rig so the rig will always kick out.....
As long as you stop the lead before it hits the water and feel it down for a 'donk', 99.9% of the time it will not tangle. Can also hook on some PVA rig foam to aid...
Just bought 2 sets of these and now discover that it says 'do not use with PVA mesh bags' but doesn't explain why. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.
Does this tubing kit only work with the nano dark matter tubing or something? I've bought this kit there is no way that sleeve is going on the tubing. I've tried everything
Did you try the nano tubing?
@@timmymcqueeney7539 no I used the Avid rig tubing in the end and that worked perfectly
Tried it with the plastic collar and it still dropped my lead! I had to put two plastic collars in to stop it from dropping my leads.
Maybe someone can tell me how to get the tube through sleeve part like he does. Saliva ?? An hour and still can’t get it through its sooooo tight
didnt realise we had to buy the heli safe for it thought the heli safe came w it
Then it would cost £10 or more and you’d moan it was to expensive
Bit of a con everything isn't in the set having to buy the heli safe lead clips separate
Quality equipment tho mate most people already have loads of heli clips anyway
Great technology but just use naked Heli rig. Less components, cheaper and will crack off easy enough. Nearly 30yrs fishing and not once ever had an issue.
This has been developed mainly for places that ban leaders & naked setups, and have a strict 'tubing only' rule.
@@tomblackhurst9245 yes Tom, all the venues around me are like this. Leader bans and no naked line. Used the old version of these and have been waiting ages for the new ones to come out.
Been using helecopter set ups for years for short range long range on alsorts of bottoms never a problem no matter what rig I use with it.safer too .
@@pureneglect4702 I'm not surprised that leaders are banned when they are used with lead clips set ups crack off or lose a fish with the leader and rig and companies are selling leaders with clips . Dangerous for the carp.
@@paulfranciosi8155 I've had a version of the helicopter rig since the early 90's when my dad got me into carp fishing. Even back then it would drop everything on a snap of. Very safe rig when done right
Anyone else have a problem getting the silicon sleeve over the tubing?
Yup sat here now trying to make it go through
@@adriantuck9756 you using the heavy tungsten tubing? I've found since it slides right onto their original tubing its a bit thinner. Hope this helps
@@richietill1799 yea I am I’ll have to try it - I found a good fix though - cut off a piece of shrink tubing and use that instead with it steamed on - done the trick
Does it only fit Korda dark matter then ?
No there’s two types
@@kylescholes8481 really ???
@@carldyke76 can get a pre made ledcore one
@@kylescholes8481 lead core what ??
I want it to fit tubing . Not leadcore ....is why I asked
Sad to see an otter fence on every video now.As for leaders I would only use them on helecopter set up .
Hello hope someone can help With, putting the rig swivel on when not attached to a rig..... what rigs do people use too attach the rig when a rig swivel is already on the tubing like the video? Thanks
Just change it to a quick change swivel, tie a loop on your rigs 👌
I brought it all and can't even get the tubing through the first bit at home....I can imagine on a freezing morning at the lake it will be impossible.its going back to the takle shop and if they can't get the tubing in its a refund for me......don't lose your receipts lads
Yup…..I have the same problem. Chewed on for ages to get that first bit of silicone over the Dark Matter. It ain’t happening. I have the dark matter cut at an angle too. What a complete waste of money. I’m a big Korda fan but this is total garbage. Sorry!!
Let’s face it. At 3.20 you make it look easy to thread the silicone tubing over the Dark Matter tubing. It doesn’t fit. I’ve got the dark matter cut an angle and there’s NO way that silicone tubing is going over the Dark Matter!!!!
most expensive part is the heli casin !!! it's like £6 for just 2 .....
Took long enough to sort out jeesluiz
Right yeah
