    Below is some great info from the patch notes for the reason you are feeling differences in your wheel and feedback.
     - Controller behavior for steering wheels have been updated.
      ・The force feedback algorithm has been adjusted, allowing devices to use their full torque range.
      ・The steering geometry calculation have improved, resulting in better force feedback feeling.
    2. Controllers
     - We addressed an issue in which force feedback vibration on the Logitech® G923 was too sensitive.
     - The strength of the vibration effect on the Logitech® PRO Racing Wheel has been adjusted.
    - The performance stability for all Fanatec® steering controllers has improved.
     - The LEDs of the four sticks on the Fanatec® GT DD Extreme will now light up in the color of the corresponding MFD.
     - We also adjusted the Tuning Menu Auto Setup parameters for the Fanatec® GT DD Pro/Extreme, and Podium.
    Selecting "Auto Setup" (AS or A SET) from the Tuning Menu on the wheel will load the optimal parameters for playing Gran Turismo. A firmware update may be required in order to enable the Auto Setup function on your device. In Podium mode, Auto Setup is intended for use in Low Torque mode. The use of High Torque mode will require manual adjustments.

    It’s so disheartening to the VR community to feel abandoned, then sony and PD wonders why people are not going out to buy VR headsets. It’s not like we are asking for much we want a leaderboard and to fix the view when on a banked corner like Daytona

      For me it’s a big bummer, I have the G pro wheel mounted on a foldable playseat challenge X and before the update the feeling was incredible, you could feel the rumble of the car, gearshifts, rumblestrips in the whole chair, the immersion was pretty high. Before the update my vibration strenght was on 90, now on 150 and it feels all numb. It’s a totely gamechanger for me in the negative way 😔

    I agree with some comments about the VR limitations maybe the solution isn’t more info on screen, personally I would take all the info off screen in exchange for assigning a radio button and being able to use the PSVR2 mic. It would only add to the immersion if you have a crew chief in your ear. For example assigning the O button to say simple phrases and the crew chief response if you say leader it replies the gap between you and leader it tells you when there is a car on your side. Say fuel and tells you how many laps you still have remaining, tells you if weather is coming. Maybe if your going to go into the pits you need to tell them so they can be ready if not your pit time is effected. Just some ideas for GT8

    The main reason i left this game for ACC was because of the FFB and physics after this update the TGT2 felt insanely close to ACC finally it feels alife. And now the physics are pretty good it suits my driving style. Played Iracing alot aswell where Presiced Braking is Key to be fast which wasnt there on Gt7 but now with this update Trail-Braking is getting a little bit more rewarded. I Love it its getting to the direction Sim-Racing and not Sim-cade.

    I jumped back on at Spa after the update and noticed a huge difference in the physics. I must have done 100 laps before the update so I knew brake markers, entry and exit points (1m 19 so not too slow) Tried after the update, I was all over the track. Car was faster top end but had to brake earlier as otherwise ended up understeering into corners. Decided not to go online as didn't want to cause carnage. Bit more practice to get it right before I start back online. I get protective over my A/S rating 😂😂

Racing Gr3 and Gr4 will just make you slow in every other game and form of racing there is lol. Drives me nuts that it's where the whole community spends it's time. Nice video Cas.. yer you will feel it more when you are trying to push for a qualifying lap, need to be a lot more subtle with your imputs.. agree with the VR needing some love.. one thing many people don't consider is it might actually be at the limits of the ps5. As in any more data on screen something will have to give which would most likely be the image.. when you consider what they are getting out of the ps5 its pretty high spec pc comparison for VR.. you have a headset that runs native 120, the game can run native 120 in 2D so it can only be the PS5 limits that it couldn't do it.. in rolls the PS5 pro and a reason to buy it we all thought we didnt need 😉

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  Před měsícem +3

      I am very curious if PD gives us anything more when the PS5 Pro hits or if they don't change a thing. It will show us if they actually care about VR users or not, but I am not convinced they are holding back a leader board due to system resource constraints.
      As for pushing with the new physics, yeah, don't need to push that hard against Sophy, LOL....I definitely felt like I needed to be a little more softer with the throttle on exit though.

      @@thecasualracinggamer polyphony started as a devision inside Sony, they are still heavily tied and were only allowed to break away if they stayed loyal, so anything to sell console units would be a 👍.. there isn't much other reason to buy one at the moment, I can't see 2D games running a bit faster a big seller.. I hear what you are saying, its live data to the 100th of a second though which is valuable space and something else the eye tracking needs to focus in and out of.. maybe I'm being optimistic but I can't see any other reason its not native 120 which is less work (for the game) just passing straight through or clocked back to 90 than reprojection.. it can only be the ps5 limits.. Red Matter 2 runs native 90 and looks beautiful, but it's literally black universe and stars or enclosed spaces the entire game, hardly any asset's to make it work hard, GT7 is the complete opposite end of the spectrum 200mph, 16 other cars, live weather and assets literally everywhere.. I was surprised they got it as good as they did in VR when I first got in from a console tbh. Racing games especially in VR must require a crazy amount of load as the whole track has to be pre rendered, even the inside of the back of the car incase you turn your head, there's no doors to the next level 🤣.. I hope they do get the data on there as I feel it would give us more chance to mix it up with the quicker guys for sure 👍

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  Před měsícem

      Reprojection uses way less power than the higher native frames. It basically only needs to push 60fps while the rest is filled with black screens. Being how fast things move and in unpredictable ways in racing games, it's way harder to push the frames highly native compared to other VR games. In VR, pushing 120Hz natively means it needs to push 120Hz to each eye. On a flat screen, it only needs to render on a single screen. The thing that even makes GT7 do what it can on PS5, as good as it does is the headsets eye tracking. I will be surprised if they can pull off 120Hz native even on the PS5 Pro. If they can, it will be all thanks to eye tracking.

    • @clacky78
      @clacky78 Před měsícem

      @@thecasualracinggamer that's what I'm saying it's easier on the console but harder on the game/developer and Sony, it's not a black screen it's a predicted image and it's worked out by an algorithm based on the previous image/ images.. it would need data written by the game and the console to try and work it all out.. when it gets it wrong like you dart your head around you get the blurred image which can cause motion blur/ sickness.. this is why I'm saying it's very likely GT7 pushes it close to it's limits, there is only a handful of games even running at 90 and they are very basic, GT7 is probably one of the most demanding games full stop due to the scale, amount of asset's and speeds of the cars.
      Agree it seems unlikely but there has to be something to make it worth coming as nobody uses 8k yet.. leaked specs say it will run 8k and have some secret ai upscaler in it, that sounds interesting for VR to me 🤔

    • @clacky78
      @clacky78 Před měsícem

      Ps although 120 is unlikely it would be very easy for polyphony to clock it to 90 and get rid of all that projected data if the hardware would run it.. and maybe some more on screen data 🙏

And this was on the hardest setting. There is no learning curve there, Sophy is clearly dummied down for you to be able to catch them.

      Out of curiosity, what wheel are you using?

    • @TheTISEOMan
      @TheTISEOMan Před měsícem

      @@thecasualracinggamer Logitech G29.
      the slip shows up on lower powered cars with less soft tires. Biggest example being the new rally subaru.
      But even still it doesn't feel like you're pushing the edge it just feels like your car just naturally wants to slide a bit. I should feel some 'give' on the limit of grip where I should feel and see my car a bit slip. I like using ACC and NR2003 as an example because they both get this feel extremely right. And GPL as an exaggerated example.
      For controller play, this especially sucks because you're still not receiving much feedback in the haptics to tell when you're going to give way nor is there a visual indicator (Your car literally beginning to slowly but surely turn more and more before you slide). The 1971 Mach 1, give it more horsepower, and notice how your car will suddenly give away without warning once you get around slightly above half throttle around most corners. What would seem like an area where you would feel or see slipping you really don't. This doesn't help as throttle control isn't linear. So driving on the edge is extra difficult. For example, If I'm driving at %70 throttle and drop it to %40 throttle. There is a sizable delay before your throttle finally fully drops to %40. Now add this problem to a torquey car and you start jumping back and forth above and below the threshold as you're trying not to crash your car. Kinda like standing on top of an unstable stool to change a lightbulb.
      Again, the physics are a big leap forward to what I truly want so I'm not upset, I just had too high of expectations and I should've metered them a bit, but the physics truly are better.
