@@seansands424 No HDV is a MK 2 built 1967 ,as all MK 1 RE,s were manual box ,no semi auto option, I know as Red& White had early MK1,s manual box twirled by Gardner 6LW ,s, ECW bodied similar to those on 'Spaceships' Bristol MW's, they worked out of Gloucester Bus Station on routes to Coleford, Ross on Wye ,and Chepstow. For a Gardner she sounds awesome, that shrill sounding 5-speed SCG semi auto box, but wow a Gardner that wants to go and wake the dead.

I loved these buses, when I was based at Seaton depot we had HDV 628E, 629,630,631 for the 213 service, Seaton-Taunton service. Happy days!
