I needed to hear this! I am this person that bosses my entire family around telling everybody what is haram and what is. This is a real eye opener for me. I came to this video to know what I should tell me family but I’m leaving knowing what not to tell them. May Allah guide me and my family.

My family alhamduliah is Muslim. But they never ever listen to my advice, and when I try to give dawah they don’t listen, and they start to hate me. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want them to hate me, but I want them to care more about Islam. They are so close to eachother, except me. Ik they love me, and I know they don’t hate me. But I feel like they back away from me. And hide things from me. I don’t wanna be that one left out person, but I wanna please Allah. They always watch movies and series that just waste time and back them away from Allah. And they don’t hear my dawah

The answer is at 1:33 he basically said “first measure the consequences and that be smart to know when to talk and preach for example for you start preaching day and night your family will not listen to you because maybe your bond is not that strong so When u know they are gonna be annoyed with u if you preach then don’t preach. First win their hearts with your behaviour start being humble and kind and first follow what you’re trying to preach so they see the action and not just words, eventually they will follow though it may take some time. Also, One should do fair preaching meaning, that he must not say don’t do this or say this cause this haram. Just mention the Hadith to them that “did you know this act is prohibited by our loved prophet “ and if they say yes then just move on and change the topic because they know and u will not be hold accountable. bonding with family is important first then the preaching. Prophet (S.A.W) used to preach by his actions and kindness.

Being a Muslim raised in a Muslim-majority country and then moving to the West has been quite a challenge for me. Back home, was raised in a religious environment, almost all of my friends back home practices the religion. But now, living with my not-so-religious extended family, it's been a real struggle.
I always bring my prayer mat and ask for a quick moment to do my prayers (only the fards), but they always seem annoyed and sight. Yet, I'll happily wait for them while they fix their makeup or use the bathroom.
Food is another headache. I stick to halal, but they're okay with non-halal chicken. So, guess where we end up eating most of the time? Non-halal joints, where my only option is usually vegan stuff with no guarantee it's actually halal.
What's worse is whenever I'm around them I don't say anything about them not practicing or not following the religion, I don't judge them. However, whenever they are around me and do something wrong, or see me pray, they say "you are judging us so bad right now",
but they always seem to throw it in my face whenever I want to pray or stick to my beliefs. They are judging me, and it's like I'm constantly walking on eggshells.
There was this one trip during the hottest week of August, I didn't drink any water before sunset just so I wouldn't have to redo my wudu for prayers. I knew they'd roll their eyes if I did.
Honestly, sometimes I pray just to get out of plans because hanging out with them drains all my energy. I don't think I am super religious, I am literally doing the bare minimum, yet, I am extreme. I feel like the only way to get out of this is to get married. Funny that I am free and not oppressed, but my oppressors are my muslim environment. Pray for me so I can be straight on the right path.

For what it’s worth you’re not alone in the challenges you face. Me too, being in the west, these things happen. I made a lot of dua and today Alhamdulillah I’m surrounded by righteous friends. So just make dua for good companions. And in the meantime, I highly recommend studying Ahlaq (character of the prophet (s.a.w.). When you become a person of good character, good people love you and go out of their way for you, and bad people will drift away from you

If it's so hard being in the west.. why don't u go back... If u come to a place to enjoy the resources and infrastructure u have to adapt..were u forcibly taken to the west like a slave.. no.. then nobody is forcing u to stay.. u r not oppressed.. don't play the victim card.. that's what everyone dislikes..acting as if u r on a moral high ground ..if u come to a place and expect them to change then u r the oppressor.. just as sheikh said if u lead by example and people see that ur ways are beneficial they will definitely follow.. Allah knows best..

@@johndoe3632 I was not forcibly taken here, and I was born here and pay taxes here. I pay for those “resources” and “infrastructure.” This is home.
As the sheikh says, leading by example does not work around my family and circle; it is easier said than done.
For instance, for them, praying salat on time is “extra” when we are outside, and they unwillingly wait for me and make it so obvious (they think if you are not home, you can make it up later). How should I adapt in this case? Should I just say, “ok, I’ll pray it later,” and abandon my prayers? They eat non-zabiha; should I just eat it like there are no other options? I would love to hear your suggestion.
I don't have any problems with other people because I simply don't care, but when it's family, it is more challenging, as I'm with them most of the time.
The problem does not stem from being in the West necessarily but from having intolerable people around you. It could be hard to grasp if you've never been in this kind of situation.

The only unforgivable sin is shirk. Also disbelief in Allah is mentioned many times in the Quran. You aren't supposed to force Islam on anyone, this means people who are not Muslim but also people who are Muslim. Live your life as best you can and let Allah be the Judge. The example of Noah's son is that you cannot control other people. Allah will be the Judge.
