Ranked in order of actual rarity 10. Catcher catching ball no look (cmon this cant be that rare) T8. Throwing into receivers hands when he wasnt looking/ throwing into pitchers glove when he wasnt looking (these are really fun imo but the fact that they are so similar and both on the list kinda runs the 1 in a million feel) 7. Outfielder going through the wall (definitely cant do that in todays game but not the craziest) 6. Front flip into the endzone (I'm giving this one points for the height and landing. We've seen people vault and get flipped but this had style) 5. Roberto Carlos impossible angle (nuts shot, but we all know hed do it again. If anything Roberto Carlos is the 1 in a million here) 4. Bank shot off the other ball into the hole (absolutely ridiculous situation, so many things had to go right and it's so satisfying to watch) 3.That dude gliding into the boxing ring (this gets points for sheer absurdity. The definition of 1 in a million because how on earth did it even happen once???) 2. Water skip ace (most stylish clip, the skips on the water, the roll, the curl, it's all there. Would probably actually take a million attempts to recreate) 1. Randy Johnson killing a bird (I mean cmon. Is there anything to say really. The bird, flying quite fast, and a randy Johnson fastball, extremely fast, colliding in mid air is already so absurd. The perfect explosion of feathers as the bird is rocketed straight to the shadow realm, perfection. And the lifeless bird carcass flopping in frame at the end is the unexpected desert to top off this three course meal of a clip. There truly will never be anything like it again)
10. parachute guy. No luck involved. Anybody could do that tomorrow, if they wanted. 9. Front flip into endzone. Again, could happen all the time if they wanted. The guy probably got yelled at by his coach when he got back to the sideline. 8. Catcher catching ball behind back. Lucky bounce off wall, but any pro baseball player can catch a ball behind his back. 7. Outfielder crashing into wall, just doesn't happen. Especially nowadays. T5. No look catches. Maybe 2 in a million. 4. Roberto Carlos, whoever that is. 3. Water skip ace. That pin placement was put there specifically to funnel to the hole. Practice round. 2. Bank shot off the other golf ball into the hole. It's hard enough to get a normal hole in one. 1. Randy Johnson. I mean, a bird??
CFL no look needs to be higher than baseball. 1. Catcher is throwing to a (relatively) stationary target whereas receiver is moving. 2. Ball lands in his glove while it is creating a basket. It also kind of bounces off him and falls in. Football literally hits under his arm and just stays there while he moving. 3. Pitcher knows without a doubt that the ball is coming back to him, even if he looks away he should have a general awareness the ball is coming his way. Receiver isn’t finished his route and there is a big chance it doesn’t come his way/QB is sacked. I think that catch needs to be 3 over soccer goal. Amazing goal but if we are taking about rare moments that football catch is the rarest thing I’ve ever seen not similar to the baseball one enough.
Technically, #7 is a three-in-a-million moment. Vijay Singh did the same thing in 2009, and Martin Kaymer did it in 2012. As far as I know they're the only three to pull off a hole-in-one on the practice round's traditional 16th hole water skip.
A pitcher killing a bird has happened again since Randy did it. My number one is Vince Carter dunking over a 7 footer in a game. He said in an interview that he tried to replicate it over a 6’3 guy later and couldn’t do it. It was all adrenaline
I was at the masters practice round in 2009 and Vijay Singh did the same thing. If you aren’t familiar with the tradition most of the pros try their skipping skills every year during the practice rounds to the delight of the fans or as they say at the Masters the “patrons”
For those wondering on number five there's no penalty for your ball hitting another player's ball. by rule the shot counts and the player who's ball he hit has to place it at the spot it was when it was hit.
This list is clearly going for "extremely improbable physical occurrence" and not "significant historic or statistical significance." At least two of these happened in non-competitive play that didn't even count for anything. A World Series walk-off homer is memorable and historic, but home runs and walkoff wins happen routinely in baseball. A golf ball hitting another already on the green, and caroming to the pin for a hole in one is astonishingly unlikely, and that's what this video is going for.

The green is slopier than it looks. When putts don't roll straight, it's not golfers using some complicated english, it's reading the greens. The pin placement here is in a spot the whole green funnels toward; it was a practice round before the tournament, and skipping across the pond on the practice round is an informal tradition; it's been aced before at least once. In the competitive tournament, golfers aren't skipping on the water, and the hole is in a less favorable location on the green.
