    the best transmission line playlist i have ever seen on youtube. thank you professor

    Excellent videos on transmission lines! The textbook by Peterson and Durgin is also very clear and concise

    Those gifs of the transmission lines can be found here:

    Great lectures! If only all teachers taught like this!

    Thanks for uploading your videos. Good online EE lectures beyond very basics are almost non-existent.

    one more disadvantage of series termination is that we cannot use it for High speed signals and lengthy transmission line

    ok, so the ringing is the result from all these reflected waves bouncong back and forth, right??

    Hi, Thank you for very good explanation. Could you, please, share the link for that animations?

    Never mind! It's 51.3!

    At 33 min, what is the value of the resistor that was added in parallel to match 50 ohms? 51.3 ohms or 513ohms?

    So can characteristic impedance of a transmission line be a complex number ??

    • @TheBlacksword999
      @TheBlacksword999 Před 4 lety

      I do not believe so as it is derived from sqrt(L/C) and doesn't have any imaginary component

      Yes for lossy lines, the equation in the comment below is derived assuming the line is lossless, aka R=0 and G =0.

      For anyone who reads this comment in the future, I believe he refers to the book he co-authored, accessible for free through this link. Morgan Claypool in the publisher.

      First, there are no stupid questions, only arrogant engineers. Second, I am almost certain that this is an undergraduate course.

      @@PauloConstantino167 You know why I was using logisim? To prototype my CPU's design before making it into a PCB! Now it is the real world, now reflections are an issue. So by I did, I mean I do need them, that was a miswording on my part.

      Maybe but they get to work some really cool things long before normal people can purchase. As an engineer you have to travel all over the world to work with other engineering teams. I have travel the world as an engineer.
