McKayla Maroney's Amanar vault during the 2012 Olympics team final Is the stuff of legends. It was the closest any Olympic gymnast has come to perfection since Nadia Comăneci's performances on the beam and uneven bars at the 1976 Olympics.
Maroney not Mahoney.
MARONEY is The Queen AND King. Isn't women's horse 6 inches lower? Sydney they messed up the height so badly it threw everyone off before they figured it out. Maroney is also great on floor and bars!
Watchers I recommend 50% speed and closed captioning.
Also, of course Simone is petite, but in height only. Simone is a very compact, muscular type. Rebeca is I think around 5'2"
Skinner's power is much greater than her technique. She gets deducted on vault often for not blocking with both arms.
It is AWESOME watching Simone and Rebeca at the same time turning in opposite directions!!!
For some reason women WAG are held to much more difficult positions (eg pointed toes, landing from a "layout", what you are saying about women's vault style). I can barely watch men's as a result. The women are as impressive in their intrinsic power and much more in beauty/style/position.

Maroney made vault look like art. It seemed effortless. Skinner always appeared to be chucking something really hard and hoping for the best. We love your videos I hope you didn’t give much thought to the rude idiot’s comment below.

I'd love to see one on WAG vault that covers distance. Apparently distance from the vault was a big part of the judging and particularly Simone Biles seems to travel out of screen shot. Who's vaults travel the longest

Maroney is the vaulting GOAT. The amplitude is just astounding. She looks to be 6” higher than anyone.
best female vaulter is obviously Simone, like she has three harder vaults than Maroneys hardest vault
You are obviously very knowledgably but I think it would be great to honour the gymnasts by pronouncing their names correctly. Andrade, Maroney and Cheng were wrong.
Men’s vault used to be the male version of beam 🙃 (cuz it was so narrow and directly in line w the runway)

Biles is the VT GOAT!!!
Her name is MaRoney, not MaHoney.....You need to look at Skinner after 2016 because she really worked hard to get credit for hitting the vaulting horse with both hands...it made a world of difference!!!
Thanks for your comment. I am aware it is maroney and say it normal but mispoke in the video. I did look at skinners vault after 2016, and you are correct that she did get both hands on the horse much better and more sqaured off and it seemed to me that was the main focus of her vault. She still does not push off the horse very much as is apparent in her lack of hight but you are correct, she did work hard on it and visually it looked much better over time. Rock on and thanks for your thoughts and insight.
I mean, let's praise Maroney for doing the best, Amanar. But hands down, Biles is the greatest female vaulter of all time. She can do ANY vault, Maroney can. Meanwhile, I can't say the same for Maroney.
I agree with you that all things considered, Simone is overall the best vaulter in the word because as you say she does so many different types of vaults and her yurchinko double pike is arguably the most difficult vault ever done for the women. Specifically Mahoney flies higher off vaulting table than any other athlete so in that category, she is the best by measurement. There are many vaulters I have not seen, but Rebecca from Brazil might be the closest to Simone at this time, but I feel Simone is pretty much head and shoulders above any other gymnast overall right now and if she has a normal day of competition, I think she will win the all-around convincingly. Four years of training and one shot at each event so they’re always are good in bad days. My best
I don't think it's accurate to compare Maroney to men because the vault tables for WAG and MAG are at different heights. Maroney is a very talented vaulter for sure but I don't think it's an accurate comparison, still insane the amount of height she gets off the table though
I measure from table top to how high they went. There are many variables like different angles from different clips as well so you are right, at best it’s estimate. They are fun to watch explode off the vault though
@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp I definitely agree, I know that when analyzing anything, taking different variables into account is very difficult so I commend you for trying to be accurate as possible while also taking suggestions into account!
I still do appreciate the comparison because the thing that Uchimura, Yang Hak-Seon and Maroney have in common are their explosivity off the vault table, it's a marvel to watch!

Best Vaulter for me definitely is Simone, Maroney just good or mastered the Amanar, but thats all, she never done harder vault than Amanar, but Simone done so much in Voult, even Cheng Fei is better vaulter than Maroney,
For certain McKayla all the way.... she doesnt just get the height... her knees are straighter, toes pointed, no piking, just beauty

You do know that Cheng is pronounced as ChUng. I know he did it wrong, but it's not 'Cheng' either.

This is a useless video. Mckayla Morony's vault is the best of all time. Deserved a perfect score. SECOND to only Produnova's, " Produnova". If Biles' coach wasn't on the mat, maybe a different conversation.
