the fact she’s 27 and wayyyyy past the prime for gymnasts and yet is still the best in the world blows my mind. that shouldn’t be possible but it is. it’s almost like she’s not human.
She was so far ahead, that this'll only make her have competition now. Hopefully she can finish on top and retire

American gymnasts seem to be training in healthier ways nowadays, so I don’t think being in your mid-to-late 20s is gonna impact them nearly as much as they expected it to. A lot of gymnasts in the past quit due to burnout too, so.. it had less to do with their age in that case too.

She almost flew out of the building on that vault. So much power in that tiny body.
She says she tries not to overshoot the Biles II and it says a lot when your issue is OVER rotating the hardest vault in WAG. Truly the GOAT!
U can see she has the upper strength but the quickness in her lower body that’s genetics and I don’t think no matter how many other ppl try they won’t be able to replicate this!!!!!!
Yeah…she seems to run very hard and over rotate! She’s super muscular powerful…she doesn’t need to run that fast!

For her to fall off the beam, take multiple steps on her vault, step out of bounds on the floor, have a few little wobbles, etc and then to win it and be on top just shows how great she really is. Congratulations to her and the rest of the team.

@@rhyst124Not perhaps, she answered correctly. Obviously, you know very little about gymnastics. Level of difficulty weighs far more in scoring than other technicalities. Simone's routines difficulty, in all areas, are more superior by leaps and bounds. So her scores are much higher than the others. Did I make it simple enough for you to comprehend?? 🙄
@@rhyst124 It literally all comes down to her difficulty score, her routines are so difficult that she could straight up loose a whole point on like vault and still win by a mile, same with her floor routine.

I am so proud of her comeback! She's so powerful and amazing. I, do, hope though she takes a bit of time to get that vault and landing ready. She's a perfectionist and i can really see her focusing on doing some little clean up duties to make sure she's 100% ready for Paris.

Wow, what a performance. But the most powerful thing for me was what she had to say in the interview at the end. The importance of mental health, and weekly therapy, and supporting the younger generation as they go through the journey and try to find their own balance. I am so glad Simone B. is back, and is having the courage to share her journey with the world. What an inspiration - she gives us all courage to be our best selves.

I was going to pick on the mistakes but F that - she did great. That floor performance was simply amazing. Even tho she did mistakes there also - it was just mesmerizing to watch... That amazing double backflip with front turn 4:46 (or whatever the pros call it) is the highest difficulty we'd see and just shut my mouth up...

I still can not ever get over "simone you are the oldest gymnnast to make this team since the 1950's, the sport for woman started in 1948. Id love NBC to talk about the 2 woman that biles is chasing. they won the olympic gold medals back to back larissa Latynia & vera ceslavska but the difference is they won back to back and gymnastics was basically ballet. Simone would be the first to win no consecutives games which is insane in itself!
Here's another pop fact: Simone and Suni are the first pair of Olympic All Around Champs to be on the same team together.

Her struggles on beam are kinda shocking. She’s been so consistent and to fall both nights is not like Simone. Still head and shoulders over the competition, probably nothing to worry about but was still shocking.

Please stop talking about AGE. Simone does not look 27. She looks 19. Why do sports commentators always talk about how old an athlete is. It’s sickening that they keep doing that. They did the same thing to Michael Jordan when he was playing for Chicago Bulls. It bugged me so much and it totally turned me off. Simone is the greatest gymnast in the world.
because rarely is a gymnast that age and still competing, much less dominant. pretty sure the median age is like 21 for the olympics.

The good thing is that when she falls she gets right back up and finishes like the champ she is. And it is acceptable for her and every other athlete to fall sometimes. Ain't nobody perfect!
Her vault is one of the most powerful out there and so impressive, but getting a 9.1 execution score really makes me question the objectivity of WAG judging. Each of those very large steps (defined in COD as more than shoulder width) is a .3 deduction, so combining that with feet crossed (.1) and slight leg bend (.1) it shouldn't be possible to get any less than 1.1 - 1.3 points in deduction for that vault.
And before anyone says it, I'm well aware I cannot do that vault, I'm just putting in my two cents on why I think women's judging is biased.

Watch closely...her left knee is badly injured, that's what caused her to fall on beam. Also, she takes all her impact on Floor in her right leg and her left leg bounces, making her go out of bounds and also not land cleanly. She's hugging it in the post-interview and limping throughout.
