Masters of comedy .. made the impossible look easy , making the mundane funny. This was the combination of genius writing and equally genius performance .
At my year 6 leavers assembly we had to sing bring me sunshine and thats how i got to know these great people. That was only a couple of months ago coz i just started yr. 7 10 weeks ago
That's why I don't have a TV any longer...dumbed down rubbish on all the time. Gone are the great playwrights, and the new ones don't get a look in . Everything is about plastic celebraties now. The 21st century is about shallowness.
I remember these sketches, when Princess Anne announced her engagement to Captain Mark Philips, Morcambe and Wise’s doorbell range and there stood someone dressed as the Princess in a big hat, they both fell to their knees when they saw the “Princess” 😂
Saw some negative comments but it has to be taken in context of the time it was made. It’s slapstick humour, I would not expect young people to get it but great of that do
This was made in 1970. Ten years later when they moved from the BBC to Thames Television they rehashed this sketch with nearly 90% just copied from this BBC version. That showed how hard up for new material they were at Thames Television from 1980 onward.
8' 42" Eric refers to "Rolling Round the World" by Scott Sanders, the song Mr. Harman always sings in Are You Being Served? Little bit of variety trivia for you.
They did a few show over there but they didn’t really take off. Mainly due to Eric having little interest in making it big over there. He was happy doing it in the UK.
Absolute legends I grew up watching these guys! 😀😂😂

Way before Seinfeld this was a mini sitcom about nothing. Just so entertaining & they have enough chemistry to fill a lab.
Grew up watching them with my Father..brilliant..
I love this so much! Especially the School meals bit 🥰
What true British Legends!!!!
Loved these two !!!
This was one of the better ones I've seen.
My dad taught me that bag trick when I was a kid.

Louis Deutsch how’s year 13 going?
"BRING OUR FRYING PAN BACK!"
The ‘move up’ bit gets me every time.
Never be beaten
Love it and thank you.
Truly brilliant! Love that free school dinners bit.
I always thought the domestic sketches in the flat were the best things in their show. The parts I liked the least were the big song and dance bits.
You have Eddie Braben to thank for their flat scenes. He felt they needed a home life, and so invented a flat which they shared.
Totally agree.
"There must be a play on every night. There is every night"
Not on today's tv there isn't...

@@susansherlock7474 When contestants on reality shows are concidered celebraties you know modern entertainment is in trouble.

This was the beginning of the end for these two great entertainers , they were better suited for stand up on stage imao.
Won’t sell many ice creams going at that speed
They were funny just dealing with everyday things, and being quite silly.
loved saturdays eveing
Genius, simply as
Saw some negative comments but it has to be taken in context of the time it was made. It’s slapstick humour, I would not expect young people to get it but great of that do
I've never seen that before. Blimey. Thanks for posting it. Where did you get it from.? Cheers
It's from 1969 the first M&W series written by Eddie Braden.
Morecambe and Wise do a spitroast in their metoo moment
fade out roll the captions and off to bed
Hilarious!
"What's on the television?"
"A fruit bowl and an ashtray."

1:10 Big Eric goes into his man drawer : ) .
I always loved the Likely Lads.

Rick Langley I knew that
Are they known in USA?
Tim M
Tim M I guess not😔
Tim M Probably not as well as they are in the U.K. Ex-pats will know them but they were very much home birds.

You have a sense of humour bypass. Funny is funny whatever the era .
