I think this might be my first comment on a CZcams video ever... I was at the fight in Nashville, and Mr. Sandhagen has the proper mindset, the crowd was fully appreciative of the fights earlier in the night that were grappling heavy, and kind of appreciated the bout in question (at least the jiujitsu peeps I was there with did). But when you're high up in the seats, you miss a lot of the nuance, and add that to the beer consumption and energy, and you have people who boo something they know is unreasonable. I would love to see more UFC events here in Nashville and one of them be Mr. Sandhagen again; I and many others here think he's very fun fighter to watch. Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope Mr. Sandhagen gets a shot at the title soon (I think he deserves it), and lord willin' and the creek don't rise, it happens in Nashville!! Thank you!

When it comes to All-Around Skillset, and properly utilizing them... I think Cory is Top 5 in the UFC (all weight classes). I agree with Cory here... I think the crowd was not yet broadened enough to understand what they were witnessing. That'll change in time once Cory becomes champion... it's kinda like Volk at first. You don't know what you're witnessing until you see this guy beat Everybody. Cory vs Suga, or Cory vs Aljo would be Nuts!!

    • @andrejones7176

It’s not like Volk at all & Cory is certainly not top 5 in all weight classes for being all around. He may not even be top 20. He’s not a good wrestler, he was just a better wrestler than 2 strikers that were excepting to strike. His wrestling against Song was bad and that fight was even before it got stopped for the cut.

Corey did what he had too and tbh he impressed me with his wrestling control while injured.
Font had zero TDD. Didn't throw kicks or knees to deter the single leg and even possibly damage the arm. The ref should stood it up a few time as well. I know some people would say that's bailing the bad grappler out but he had to get to work. Herzog knew and let them play BJJ om the ground. Corey may have put himself 1 fight away from a title shot. He needs to heal. Then face Umar or a have 5 rounder with Mereb. By then Aljo should've lost the title or vacated it.

He was but I don’t know if that would be what did it, your tricep is kinda not working when you strike something it’s more shoulder. Heck, Cory may need to beat Merab, break the logjam. His timeline may actually help him, because a lot of the clutter should get sorted while he rehabs and put him on a favorable timing to fight for the belt.

For perspective, a similar thing happened to Gilbert Burns when he fought Belal, and Gilbert couldn't do anything, even though he is a far better fighter than Belal. Was just a boring fight, respect to Cory for the Win and all especially if he was injured but the performance never left many people excited to see Cory fight for a tittle shot, UFC is a business first and doubt ufc will want to put that fight together. Merb vs Henri for number one Contender. Merb should be fighting Aljo for tittle already but has refused to fight him due to training together and being good friends, he needs to Man up and put that crap aside.
