It's actually pretty impressive that he was able to turn to wrestling on the fly and adapt and dominate thru an entirely different strategy than his initial gameplan
it was boring. I'm glad i switched to Boxing after rd 2
He did say wrestling was a big part of their gameplan anyway...
@@wes8398yeah but theres no way it was going to be that much wrestling.
@@GalactusOG Stay watching boxing, newfan, we do not want you.
@@likejimi5845 I think it would have been just as ground heavy... Just with some more g&p and sub setups than we saw. I enjoyed it regardless... Figured there was an injury at play though.
I love how Ariel is acting like he’s not the one that freaks out about Dana walkin out every time 😂
I think it's nothing really. If he was upset about a fight he would 100% make it known.
"i beat chito by a mile and i beat rob by 2 miles" underrated jab😂
why is nobody blaming Font for having zero takedown defense?
he was accepting takedowns like he's Charles Oliveira off his back(his BJJ is pretty good but not on a level to wanna go there)
Probably because Rob obviously didn't want it to go that way, where as Cory obviously did want it to go that way. I'm sure if Rob got what he wanted then he would have gotten back up. Nobody should be blamed though -- some fights just go like that.
Font avoided damage. Lay & pray with No damage is a Loss for both fighers and especially the fans
@@terryl9996 loss for both fighters hahahahahahhaha
Because youre looking at it through the wrong lense. No one cares that font got outgrappled. it was the fact that it was so boring.

Cory is one of the best strikers in the UFC. For him to get that injury so early in the fight and still find a way to pull off a complete shut-out just shows how much of a complete fighter he is becoming.
he is 6 feet tall bro fighting dwarfs 🤣🤣
Yan gave him a striking class being way smaller than cory
I don't understand how you can dislike Cory. He has one of the highest fight IQ's right now and is so tenacious in the cage. Like an even better dom cruz

I dont care if there was an injury. That was a dominant victory over a very dangerous opponent. Gameplan or not this was incredibly impressive.
Yeah I was really impressed, it wasn't a barn burner but going 7 for 7 on TDs with that amount of control time at 135 is impressive
Yeah he executed what he needed to really well
I feel bad for corey honestly. Thats a brutal injury. Couldnt imagine fighting five rounds like that

Ariel is doing exactly what Jamahal was talking about. Showcasing his great display of the English language in an effort to walk Sandhagen into saying f*ck the fans. Cory was hip!
That's Cory's Psychology degree being able to give such a cool and level-headed answer. Such a chill dude.
Ummm Ariel is not the bad guy here, the clowns booing Cory are.
@@mrcfilms7235ariels a worm
I don't find anything wrong in what Ariel is doing. It's just a different aspect of journalism. He tries to spark a bit of controversy from time to time. It's the old school yard trick: You know what so and so said about you? Most people including Jamahal know what he is doing, it's just Ariel's way to get a controversial response from the competitors.
Ariel talks too much
I was at ufc Nashville. Its surreal to watch an operator like Cory control a fist fight. Even more impressive after hearing of the injury in the first.
I was there too. Rob Font got so completely neutralized that I was amazed. Cory Sandhagen is that guy.
I was there as well. Part of me feels like the booing was a result of the lack of knockouts throughout the night, but sandhagan dominated
@@crawfordhullender4505I was also there and almost every fight on the card was pretty trash, only fights I liked was diego, Suarez, and Billy Q rest of the fights sucked pretty bad

I was definitely complaining during the fight, it wasn't the Cory I have seen. Of course, now knowing his injury I feel dumb for feeling that way but I also didn't know it happened. At least youre honest
We all owe Corey an Apology
@@LegionWolves I mean kinda. It was a boring ass fight lets be real. Easily the most boring main of the year. He trained for Umar, they could have found a main replacement. Fighting with an injury like that is kinda dumb.
@@UsaRubberhe got the injury in the first round lol
@@Wrightae92 ah. I didnt bother watching most the video. Sandhagen always kinda been a boring fighter
Cory’s performance does not deserve any criticism, if anything it deserves praise …fighting with an injury, new and drastically different opponent on 2 weeks notice and got the job done. What a great mixed martial artist.
Great MMA brain also, reminds me of Cruz when he breaks stuff down…future in commentary for sure.
Mad props to Herzog. Cory saying that he asked him about it and noticed it is class. Great referee.
Herzog is by far the best Referee in the Ufc
Ariel is like that guy in the gym that compliments the fats chicks incase they end up getting fit and in shape.
All of Corey's fights have been bangers, this is mma so ish happens. Still excited to see him fight aljo merab or omalley.
I would want to see him fight Henry. If he does better than a split decision victory, he would’ve technically performed better than Aljo
It was a boring fight. It’s ok to say that. Corey did what he had to to win but let’s not act like fans can’t voice an opinion. Fight was trash. Is what it is. Ariel tries to cater to guests so they keep coming to his show instead of just saying yet not the best performance fan wise but a win is a win
He was injured tho

I was at the event in Nashville. Was not proud to be mixed into that crowd and their reaction. Props to Cory, class act, heal up
For all mma fighters especially in the UFC. Get the win when you can. If you have an impressive win in your next showing you’re in a much better place than an “impressive” loss in the first fight.
I loved watching Corey’s fight !! And that he had such an injury - respect !!
Huh, did you see the co-main?
I really like Cory and he's definitely one of the best but I don't see how anyone could argue with Merab getting the next title shot if Aljo loses or moves up.
I think this might be my first comment on a CZcams video ever... I was at the fight in Nashville, and Mr. Sandhagen has the proper mindset, the crowd was fully appreciative of the fights earlier in the night that were grappling heavy, and kind of appreciated the bout in question (at least the jiujitsu peeps I was there with did). But when you're high up in the seats, you miss a lot of the nuance, and add that to the beer consumption and energy, and you have people who boo something they know is unreasonable. I would love to see more UFC events here in Nashville and one of them be Mr. Sandhagen again; I and many others here think he's very fun fighter to watch. Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope Mr. Sandhagen gets a shot at the title soon (I think he deserves it), and lord willin' and the creek don't rise, it happens in Nashville!! Thank you!
Nashville was ready to blow up for sandman. He let the whole building down. But this interview really clarifies what happened. Glad he got the W rob should’ve got up
Imagine thinking that wrestling is letting people down. I seriously wish some of these people would just switch to watching kickboxing.
@@americandissident9062that was not wrestling, that was nuthugging. People came to see a fight, not 2 homosexuals cuddling. Rob was not damaged or in danger at any moment.

Huge respect. Love to see him winning.
Corey making that Jokic reference I love it. He can be Jokic all day and win no need to be flashy
I think it was the up elbow he threw while rob had his back toward the end of round 1
He always gives us great fights and finishes. Had one bummer night I think he should be fine. But never underestimate the shadiness of the UFC when it comes to belts.
I've been wanting to see Sandhagen vs O'Malley for a long time now. I think that match-up has the potential to be one of the most exciting fights that the UFC could put together. If Aljo moves up, let Henry fight Merab and let's get Cory & Shawn in the cage. I really really want to see that one while they are both in their prime! Let's get it done!
I also have been wanting that fight, so much more than anything with aljo
Cory is a savage, he was supposed to fight a Nurmagomedov …
what the F did y’all think he was training, he looked solid on the ground and definitely showed the rest of the division that he’s not just stand up.
Thank you to Cory for understanding why I was booing at the fights. What a cool guy with a deep understanding on life. Even bigger fan after this! No one would handle the “booing questions” with such maturity
When it comes to All-Around Skillset, and properly utilizing them... I think Cory is Top 5 in the UFC (all weight classes). I agree with Cory here... I think the crowd was not yet broadened enough to understand what they were witnessing. That'll change in time once Cory becomes champion... it's kinda like Volk at first. You don't know what you're witnessing until you see this guy beat Everybody. Cory vs Suga, or Cory vs Aljo would be Nuts!!
It’s not like Volk at all & Cory is certainly not top 5 in all weight classes for being all around. He may not even be top 20. He’s not a good wrestler, he was just a better wrestler than 2 strikers that were excepting to strike. His wrestling against Song was bad and that fight was even before it got stopped for the cut.
I was in Nashville I live there. I was cheering for you brother. Your a beast to fight thur a tore muscle like that. You’ll definitely be the next champ!!
Hugs and hugs
Future champion. I had no idea his ground game is up to par 😎.
I have degenerative discs in my neck and I had to quit bjj. Cory is a savage...
Corey did what he had too and tbh he impressed me with his wrestling control while injured.
Font had zero TDD. Didn't throw kicks or knees to deter the single leg and even possibly damage the arm. The ref should stood it up a few time as well. I know some people would say that's bailing the bad grappler out but he had to get to work. Herzog knew and let them play BJJ om the ground. Corey may have put himself 1 fight away from a title shot. He needs to heal. Then face Umar or a have 5 rounder with Mereb. By then Aljo should've lost the title or vacated it.
Huge respect to Cory! Any champion has a ,,boring'' fight every now and then. We are just used to see his unorthodox and fun fights.
Cory is such a stud. Great interview Ariel
Glad to see real fans show respect to Cory W community
No one doing the lords work and sharing time stamps? I’ll come back later lol 😂
Ariel : blah blah blah
Me me me....
Thumbs up if you cant stand Ariel but are only here for the fighters
As always Ariel taking any opportunity to try and get a fighter to talk bad about Dana lol
Wasn't Cory trying to elbow Font from behind with that arm in the first round with Font on his back? But his tricep was connecting more or less that commentary was saying?
He was but I don’t know if that would be what did it, your tricep is kinda not working when you strike something it’s more shoulder. I think it was him pulling so hard for the legs on the takedowns, theres a lot of fast twitch muscle that are used and then the squeezes after just rips muscles more
I was at the fight. I couldn't believe the boos. Mma isn't all about the kos. Yes it's more exciting to stand and bang but if anyone there was actually a fan they would've known that those fights happen. What did the crowd think would've happened if Umar would've fought.
Have you even watched one Umar fight? He finished 75% of his fights and doesn't just lay on top
I was there, we were pissed. Worst fight of the night. Ill give him a pass because of the arm
The crowd is not disrespectful in a sense, you have to realize these people play a ton of money and most of the normal people will probably only get to visit one event in their time. Its not his fault for being soo good on the ground nor is it the fans for being let down by the MAIN event. Just kind of the the way she goes
yeah, he won dominantly but even Aljo was saying it sucked and seems dismissive of Cory getting a title shot
@@MaestroJerichoWell that's Aljo for you. He's very unlikeable. I hope O'Malley beats him.

I still think Cory has one more fight to a belt, and it still might be Umar. If aljo wins, I think he pursues 145, or tries, if sean wins they run it back. Heck, Cory may need to beat Merab, break the logjam. His timeline may actually help him, because a lot of the clutter should get sorted while he rehabs and put him on a favorable timing to fight for the belt.
its how you bounce back , Cory is a Top gangster
Cory’s face is foreshadowing the Ice Man moustache
Wrestling is not the issue, it's the lack of activity once on top, do damage, it's a fight, the goal is to try and end your opponent.
He had a torn tricep, I imagine he did what he could do while controlling
You do that with a torn tricep. He'll just go shoot takedown after
I'll tear both triceps and still whoop dude
The goal is to win, sure it may be uneventful sometimes but trying to finish someone isn't always easy when you have a torn tricep.
Dominated with one good arm
This guy is the opposite of Robbie Lawler.
Let's appreciate what Cory did here, with a round 1 injury in a 5 round fight and STILL able to hold his opponent down for 25mins is a huge achievement. For perspective, a similar thing happened to Gilbert Burns when he fought Belal, and Gilbert couldn't do anything, even though he is a far better fighter than Belal. It's only the casuals who see what Cory did and don't have a clue how technically brilliant he was. Congrats on the win Cory!
