There is absolutely no chance that game freak is going to put out anything close to breath of the wild
Someday, Game Freak games may reach the level of quality exemplified by such timeless classics as Freshly Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland
All they would need to do is bring in new people, get on a realistically lengthy development schedule, and prioritize quality over quantity in terms of content, and they could reasonably create something of BOTW caliber.
They probably won't do that, but they certainly could. I think the more interesting question is, would people be able to accept it as on par with BOTW even if it objectively was?....reputation is powerful.
I don’t think Nintendo has enough time to develop a game like Breath of the Wild as a launch title.
They may have had teams working on next-gen games for awhile now. It’s hard to say.
I’ve given up on the standard main series Pokemon game Legends Z-A is a game I can’t wait for
It's hard to tell when Legends Z-A will release, but since Legends Arceus released in January, it's still possible it could release in January, but I'm hoping it's a next/cross gen game. I'm going to keep assuming it's January, but deep down, I hope it will release even later and ends up either being a next or cross gen title.
Pokémon isn’t gonna be the “big title” I’m predicting that either Mario would be the big game or Metroid Zelda’s probably not getting a new mainline game for a while

I mean, Nintendo has a lot of modern day assets that they can reuse, not to mention purchasable assets
I don’t think we’ll see a game on the level of BOTW for another 30 years. I really think it’s that good and had that big an impact on me personally. It was more than a game. It was truly an experience. It was an event in my life the same way Disney or a trip to Rome is but with far longer exposure. It was utter mystery, adventure, exploration, peaceful rest, exciting combat. It’s perfect, not the game, but the experience. The game had small flaws and many were perfected in TOTK though TOTK failed to reach so many things it promised to be, namely the missing skies. It’s still terrific but nothing matches the adventure of BOTW. I hope we’ll have a legit quality VR headset for super switch. Since each of us will own it and it’ll be quality we won’t need to add a system level add on to the console, just buy additional controllers or snap one and a headset that holds the console. Nintendo could do it right where PlayStationhas done great but is a fortune. I hope they do it
BoTW was such a groundbreaking title it's unreal. I'm still a bit miffed that Tears was (by design) a remix of Breath.
Totk is objectively better but if you’ve played botw you know that botw is the better game and botw had more of a effect then Totk will ever have
Open world Metroid with fast travel would kill the entire point of the genre. I don’t care if normies don’t like getting lost and having to use their brain, that’s the appeal.
People said a similar thing about Zelda
