    Every summer I spend about one month picking, making jam, and freezing peaches. Despite limited freezer space we give frozen peaches priority because we like our peaches as fresh as possible for pies, cobblers, and our favorite raw milk peach milk shakes. Over the years and many hours processing peaches, I have found these two methods for freezing peaches the most delicious and time efficient.
    Let me tell you a little secret "YOU DON'T HAVE TO PEEL THE PEACHES"!
    REMEMBER KEEP LIFE SIMPLE!
    I hope this video will help you when processing your own bounty of peaches!
    Be Blessed,
    Caren

    Thank you for letting me know I don’t have to put sugar on them. I’m diabetic and I love peaches. I buy them when they are in season and so happy to know I can freeze them.

      You are welcome Melanie! Thank you for watching! Yes, we don't use much sugar either and feel like the peaches are sweet enough on their own.

    Thank you!! I was watching other methods and I was like “well I just usually wash em, cut em, and freeze em. I didn’t realize I was missing so many steps” 😂 So thank you for validating me!!

    Thank you for this video! My peach tree is overflowing this year and I hate to waste anything. I just picked 3 peaches off my tree and ate them so fast (they are small peaches)

    Thanks and nicely done video. We live just south of Waco. The blizzard of ‘21 just about killed all our bushes and we were afraid our two peach trees and red plum tree were done for. They survived but one tree gave no peaches and the other about 2 gallons. The plum gave us 10 plums...two years ago it must have produced 600.

      Thank you for watching Alan. Sorry your plum and peach harvest was impacted by the freeze. Our peach trees are loaded with peaches but will ripen later than usual. (Still green). Usually we have peaches by July 4th, I suppose the cooler spring temperature delayed the process. Right now we have plums and last month our blackberry harvest was really good. We have a ranch in the Lampasas area and have thought about starting an orchard there because the dirt is beautiful but maybe the winter is a bit harsher there.

      @@texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517 Thank you for this video! I have a question though. Does it change the texture of your pie or cobbler if you leave on the skin?

  • @judyutah
    @judyutah Před rokem +1

    do you leave the peels on these frozen peaches when you make cobbler or, whatever? AND how are the frozen peach slices do in thawing out when you want to just eat them?

    • @texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517
      @texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I leave the peels on the peaches when making pies and cobblers. They add more flavor. I freeze peach slices in canning jars and my family eats them slightly frozen just like sorbet. Thank you for watching!

    • @texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517
      @texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I probably would not but if you do it won't hurt anything. It will keep the color brighter and prevent browning. Thank you for watching!
