FANTASTIC NEWS! - All the hard work restoring the ship and studios etc. has paid off. I hope they are allowed a decent bit of power.Although it will be broadcasting mainly to the Essex area, I hope to hear it in Northamptonshire where I live. I am going to make an AM loop antenna especially.I may have to move to Essex Haha!!
This also happened to the legendary Dutch offshore radio station Veronica in Late 1975,at that time,Veronica had a comeback on radio, and Dutch TV welcomed Veronica back then. I wonder what happened to Radio Luxemborg today?
Of course, back in the sixties, Caroline was broadcasting from a different ship called Miamigo, with a much taller mast and huge transmitting power. Nice to see enthusiasts giving us something to remember though.
These days, thanks to things like Shoutcast, almost anyone can set up a radio station from their bedroom, or wherever they have a computer - upload some music to a hard drive, set up a server and you’re on the air - with the bitrates set quite high, you can sound better than most stations that you can get on regular radio!
Well done to all involved in making this happen. Good luck with the power and frequency negotiations
