Jeff from Tennessee hooked me up with a beautiful 1400/1500! Special Thanks to him for being true and absolute!!! Back to to the intermittent firing, backfires, and overall rough idle..... Enjoying your videos. I have a mid 80s 115 ran great but wasn’t peeing;replaced impeller and right before I finished up I checked carbs and noticed it was leaking when priming. Last owner never replaced float bowl gaskets after taking it apart. Fixed that. Washed engine bay, Now it will not accelerate. Runs great at idle but will not get over 5-10 mph without flooding itself. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. Figured out it was the spring that popped off in the top throttle adjuster “thing” lol. The previous owner had the spring upside down (I believe) do you happen to have a video or picture of one of these getting put together. . It has the linkage going to the stator
Also trying to find a carb rebuild kit for all three carbs and haven’t had any luck at all

@MerCSonL6 the motor is a early 70's 80hp model 800. I've rebuilt the carbs and fuel pump, compression was mid in spec with 2-4 psi between cylinders. I have not touched Timing. And I feel like your going to say to check spark and timing bobbles down low and will idle at about 800rpms no less. Sometimes dies when put into gear. Sometimes it runs okay when put into, wot runs great.
@@user-su1lv2do7h turn both idle screws ccw (out) a 1/4 turn and try shifting. Continue process until it does not fall flat on its face. Son

Are you 100% ita the valve body? Checked selonoids, trim pump, etc?

Hi I have a 1989 115 mercury 4 cylinder outboard.2x2 it starts and runs but misfires at idle on one cylinder, I have replaced the coils the cdi and the HT leads, Would a bad trigger cause this issue, Hope you can help
There's a multitude of reasons. But the trigger is a great place to start. I have a video on how to test without removing. Son
Hi thanks for the reply. I have done the test on the trigger and it's all in spec. So I am thinking it's the stator as I am getting no reading between the wires, I have ordered a new one from CDI. One quick question does it matter which terminals the yellow wires go to from the stator as they are both solid yellow @@MerCSonL6
