Whisky is gaining popularity in China, thanks to the droves of young women flocking to whisky bars in cities like Shanghai. The trend contrasts its traditional consumer demographic of older, Western men. Distributors are seeking to rebrand the liquor’s image as it seeks to compete in the Chinese market, currently dominated by baijiu, a traditional Chinese spirit.

As much as I like to see whiskey grow in popularity, it will add even more pricing pressure for those of us who are already collectors and samplers. I've already seen a 25% jump in price in general over the last three years. Definitely becoming a rich person's passion!
