I have fibrosis medianstinitus, I have been fighting my blood pressure for years. I don't have regular high blood pressure like most people do. My blood pressure skyrockets 200 over 112 sometimes but it's always constantly going up off and on all day sometimes it regulates itself but not that often. I am taking 0.3 clonidine patch. I am also taking 0.1 clonidine and breaking the pills in half, and I take anywhere from 4 to six half pills a day of the clonidine pill. Without the clonidine I feel that I would not be around because of my disease. It is a battle every single day. They tried every other well almost other blood pressure medications and it didn't work. At least five or six of them. Only the clonidine works to get my blood pressure down especially when it goes up to above 170 over 100. Again I don't have regular high blood pressure like most people my blood pressure is caused by my disease but it's a whole different way of doing it. Plus I have heart disease now and all my tissue inside my chest around my heart my lungs I'm breathing on one lung basically is all from my disease and had a heart attack last year, And I'm still walking except I have to lay down a lot I know my body and when to lay down and when not and what to eat and what not to eat and I can't eat a lot. I thank the Lord every day and I know how I have an angel looking over me. All my doctor says that it's an extreme miracle for me the way I am right now or I have been for quite a few years. Anybody needs to write a book about me I'll be glad to talk about what I have and how I got it etc and what I go through the struggle ect. It's a very interesting story believe me and my life

On 40mg Lisinopril + 25mg HCTZ + 5mg Bystolic and still struggle to get BP below 160/100. This has been going on for over 5 years. I'm 45. The only thing that seems to bring it down is clonadine, but it makes me feel like crap - light headed and lethargic. Not sure what do to.

For 5 years for bp has been in the 160/100 range ? How is it now?

Same here - I am on 4 meds for BP one of them includes a water pill - and I still always get readings of 140, 150, 160 - my diastolic is always good though. So annoying. I have had every cardiologist test in the book and they found nothing abnormal with my heart or kidneys. High BP runs in my family.

Update, now using the clonidine patch .1mg ad it seems to be lowering my BP very well, now in the 130-120/70-80 - for me that is a victory. I am never going to get below 120/80 but I am ok with 130/80.

I am on Lisinopril 30mg once a day, Furosemide 80mg once a day, and Hydralazyne 40mg three times daily, and the meds are doing nothing to lower my BP, which has been in the 220/120 range for two weeks running, at least. I am a disabled veteran and getting into a clinic is cost prohibitive right now. Should I forego the clinic and go to the ER as my doctor suggested, or can this be handled without the 75 mile drive?
