Collectively, we have learned and are learning that it is possible to create lives that serve us well. No longer will we depend on the crumbs of existence we have been offered by America.
Here are some facts.
Black Men have worked hard in our careers, but have been held back. We have been told to “not cry”, “suck it up”, “it ain’t that bad” to the detriment of our mental and physical health. We have had “code-switch” and “play small” to make the “other” feel comfortable, yet we continue to have a target on our back. Somehow, we are not enough and at the same time, we are way too much! And we are exhausted by this game. Personally, I knew something had to give. Moving Abroad was part of that first step toward healing, living and thriving. I want that for you as well. We as Black men in this #MOVE #ABROAD space are out here encouraging and supporting other Black men in how we are living lives that are healing, safe & rewarding. The basis of my Move Abroad story was the necessity, urgency and desire to live in safety and heal from the mental damage I encountered in the United States. I could not heal while living with my oppressor! In a nutshell, my job, the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter Movement forced me into action. I have made good progress in my healing journey, with much further to go. And I want to bring as many brothers along as possible. I am a #WOUNDEDHEALER. It is a big ole world out here and there is plenty of space for you too!
