On thing I don’t think a lot of people understand is that the Ballon D’or is based off individual performance, not trophies. For example, in 2010 Iniesta barely scored at all while Messi was on the most prolific goal scorers that year. Sure, Iniesta won the World Cup in 2010 but that doesn’t matter because he barely scored. And I don’t even know why people are arguing about the 2012 win

2021 messi deserves it more than lewy and the only reason people wanted lewy to get it was bc they canceled the 2020 ballon d’or! This could’ve been solved by the organisators retroactively awarding lewy with the 2020 ballon d’or at that same ceremony
