UPDATE: After some testing (thanks to @BlackGX018 for pointing this out), Protosynthesis, even if proc'd by the sun, WILL still be active if Altaria/Cloud Nine switches in. HOWEVER, Protosynthesis will NOT activate if Altaria/Cloud Nine is already on the field and a Pokémon with Protosynthesis switches in.
I think I briefly mentioned this. Golduck doesn’t benefit from Cloud Nine like Altaria since it lacks a defensive stat spread and movepool. It would much rather be a Swift Swim sweeper.
Thank you! I should've, especially for this one since I just recorded for one of the sets I mentioned. Getting B-roll may not sound like a ton of extra work, but with how much free time I have, hitting record and talking for 30 minutes is all I have time for most the time.
True! Much better Rain counter. It’s just like Snow though, if you can dance around it properly it can still work but you have to be a good pilot for that which means you can’t really slap it on any team.
@@Mr502 I was testing with Altaria for a tournament where I was forced to use awhile ago and when I tried switching it into a specs Walking Wake for some reason protosynthesis is still there after I canceled sun with could nine
Question couldn't you run Altaria w/ Skeledirge because both learn Round and the passive for running it is that if a teammate uses it and the other uses it too it Gaines priority and double from 60 BSP to 120 up to a max of 240 so I was wondering if you looked into that
Round wouldn’t work like that in singles, but even in doubles, Alt nor Dirge benefit from Round and they both have neither a good nor bad speed stat, so that wouldn’t be a very good strategy.
I think so! It’s tough because it’s more physically defensive on top of it being weak to Make It Rain, but you also aren’t staying in on Ghold nor switching into it. So you’d always be forced out by Ghold but you’d also always get a free Defog so if your team really needs Defog to get off then it’s worth it.

altaria is lowkey one of the most versatile pokemon
Yup, it does everything. Also washes your laundry and brushes your teeth.
Nah bro this video was needed I didn’t know at all
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey man love the videos! It would be awesome if you could manage to put in some gameplay on these videos about Pokémon sets!

unfortunately tusk's ice spinner and and the three sun dragons make it a rougher matchup into sun, love its mu into rain though!

OHHHH I BEEN SAYING THIS, i loveeeeeeee cloud nine alt
Mono water rain teams have been annoying to take down lately so I might have to add an Altaria to my mono dragon team
100% would recommend. It’s perfect for that.
Pretty sure Could Nine actually doesnt shut off protosynthesis for some odd reason
It does, unless it was proc’d by Booster Energy.

Hmm, might do some testing then

Chin chiller in the background?
Yup, a chinchilla indeed
Weezing can defog against gholdengo. Would you think that could works in in your team?

@@Mr502 That was what I thought, thanks.
