I appreciate that. I like the flexibility the system gives me. And, unlike commercial albums, I can see the relationships between stamps better. I like seeing the patterns.
Another great video Ken! I share your interest in mainly definitive, as opposed to commemorative, stamps. I'm getting my mind around your novel approach to laying out your collection pages. I can see some real advantages, particularly when there are numerous variations and types. Your walkthrough of how you do the page layout and editing was very helpful. Thanks so much!
The layout really works for me. I have always been frustrated at how my Minuteman album lays out the same stamp multiple pages away from each other. I miss the connections.

You know, I really appreciate a stock book for its infinite flexibility. You saw that I totally reworked my Wilding's pages because I got it wrong the first time. That's perfectly okay. Try something you think works for you, then give yourself permission to rework it when you find something that works better. Glad you have you as a viewer.

I was advised by more than one advanced stamp collector to rather use stock books than albums when starting with my collection(s). They said it is more flexible to accommodate your collection which would be changing all the time. The stock books are OK, but I miss being able to add enough information. I LOVE information and to do lay out, and I think I will eventually rather use albums (I thought self printed pages), because I really want to add more info. For now it is probably too expensive an option for me, especially the mounts, I gather, can be very expensive.
These choices depend on so many things that advice is hard to give well-aesthetic preferences, budget, depth of collection, flexibility. Hinges are inexpensive and if you mostly collect used work great. Do what fits best for you.

Ken, I'm afraid you don't understand the old UK currency...Pounds, shillings and pence. There were 12 pennies in a shilling and 20 shillings in a pound. One penny was often written as the letter D. One shilling looks like1/-. One shilling and six pence looks like1/6. , so the brown stamps in the top row are not 2 pounds and 6 pounds! They are two shillings and six pence! The red ones are five shillings, blue ones ten shillings and the black ones on the bottom row are one pound. Thanks for your interesting video!
Hi Ken what is the name of the black mount stripe? Where can I buy them? I am searching those to do the same thing, but I am confused which one to buy... thanks
They are called Stamp Mounts. I use either Showguard or Prinz interchangeably, although Prinz tend to be less expensive. A company called Howid also makes a kind that mounts at the top rather than the middle. All three brands come in both black-backed and clear-backed. I get them in strips and cut them to length. But they also make individual stamp sized mounts. I have been very happy with www.wizardcoinsupply.com -- they don't pay me to say that.
I love those old issues. I’ve always been curious about the type of paper used. Looks and feels of upmost quality.
They are usually designed to last. A few countries issue stamps on paper that rips easily, but not many

you can find the printers in some cases (for used stamps) by looking at the date on the postmark
