This is the Friday show, the first of the two legendary nights at Wembley. Queen "Live at Wembley Stadium": July 11, 1986. (*Ripped and uploaded by Fabio Tosti)
I was there. Best concert I will ever see. Clapping in time with - I don't know how many people - for Radio GaGa was astonishing. I felt invincible being part of that army of fans!
As a singer myself, you can start to hear Freddie's voice go to to the strenuous 1986 tour (done before the HIV tests came back positive) in order to not be an insurance nightmare. The band never toured again, due to Freddie's weakening condition, but more importantly the fact that he could succumb to an opportunistic infection/cancer that could threaten his livelihood. It never did come to that, he made awesome music until his death. R.I.P.
He caught a flu before the Newcastle gig two days earlier and hadn't really shaken it by this point. Most of the rest of the 1986 tour was amazing, except for a few select concerts (Zurich 7/2/1986, where it reached 50ºC and he was really dehydrated, Wembley 7/12/1986, where his flu combined with the strong show the night before plus afterpartying took its toll on his voice, and Marbella 8/3/1986, where he and the band had a shouting match in the dressing room before the show and blew out his voice).
Ive never seen adoration like that-- and Ive seen so many concerts. Not even Bruce....I mean Freddie's crowd is on their toes during entire show....its really like the crowd becomes one. What a fearless and charismatic performer. ❤😢
Freddies voice keeps cracking, however with the back up vocals of Roger, everything sounds perfect & flawless...Roger is such an amazing bandmate...no band could be compared to QUEEN in all aspect.stage performance, audience impact, showmanship & best of all their love & loyalty to each other.
This song at the time stayed on the charts for over thirty weeks at the number one spot. Making it the most successful single ever written. When it first aired on both MTV and Friday night videos the viewer attendance quintupled in less than ten seconds. Number one in twenty eight countries, sold one hundred million copies, and broke records as the most inspirational song ever produced. Although nominated for numerous awards it didn't get to win one. Yet awards aside Radio ga ga lived on to be the most listened to song on the radio today. Even after Freddie's passing many bands around the world opted to buy or lease the song in any of their own simply for its complex, and incredible bass line. Roger Taylor surely brought forth an instant classic that will live on even if videos are no longer present. There will always be radio.
Lies about what? Were you even reading properly? Are you on drugs? do you even study? How old are you? I have been a Queen fan for over forty years so if you please stick to what you know. And that is not saying a whole hell of a lot.
Chris Sorensen the statistic I actually remember is that Bohemian Rhapsody (one of the most overplayed songs on most stations) was number one in the UK for over a year. Radio gaga is my favorite song but I don't really remember it being all that popular here in the states but I'm only 57.
Chris Sorensen : I have always said this is one of my favorites it just brings back so many happy and sad feelings!love the great man that brought it us. Rip Freddie Mercury forever ❤️🥰😍😪😭💫✨🌟⭐️🥰
ignaciogps I like mobile phones at concerts. It means you can record it on your phone and show it to your friends and family later, use the light on it when singing along (a lot safer than 300 people with lighters in their hands!), and it makes it easier to keep in contact with your friends who you could easily lose in a crowd. In fact, if it weren't for mobile phones, I would have missed an entire show a year or two back! I'm less than 5" tall and couldn't see past all the people, but thank god for the person in front of me recording it on their phone! So I just watched it through their screen. Not the greatest experience, but a better one than it would have been without a phone.
Freddie era un artista unico perché cantava di pancia e riusciva a trasmettere la sua voce atutto il corpo con dei movimenti , gesti e perfomance Indimenticabili.Grazie Freddie ❤️☀️🌹
Your just watching a genius at work with a crowd in his hand - everyone involved from the front to the back. Its said that ultimate perfection is impossible, so Freddie was obviously a one off as that's what your seeing here. It's a shame that it's now just history which is never to be repeated
Some of my favourite Freddie moments happened when he performed this song live. Just so much gusto for him to deliver his god like power. Love you Freddie. Forever x
Freddie sounds beautiful as always, but this stage wouldn't have been this perfect without Roger. Roget backed up the high notes whem Freddie's voice cracked so that it sounds stable, and when Freddie's ok with high notes Roger hit even higer chorus line. And he did this while playing his drums just amazingly.
Very nice song, radio gaga, I have seen many people in the audience wearing arm band.. Dear freddie where are you now..many of your fans still watching your concert..and thinking you are alive...waiting fr the new one. Oh...ghost please dont reply me. 20--12--2018.
Everyone in Wembley is clapping in unison, EXCEPT for the girl with the red hat (3:17) sitting on someone's shoulders. I was waiting for someone to knock her down. Freddie & Roger sounded magnificent. Thanks for posting.
t makes me very happy that thanks to the bohemian rapsody movie, the new generations have been able to have the opportunity in life to know the music of queen, surely many if not for the film would have never had this opportunity, I with 30 years luckily, grew up in a house where at age 6 I had my first cassette of queen and from there on, the rest is history, the best band for me and a fundamental part in my life.
if it's even possible to think there's been a better frontman, lead singer, charismatic, flawless-voiced performer than Farrokh Bulsara please tell me so I can see it with my own eyes there's nothing and no one before or after freddie mercury 😭
It is an official release. Look up the "25th anniversary edition" from Eagle Rock. (Both nights were visually restored but only the audio mix for the Friday show is new).
Brilliant....Roger's shirt is so much better on the Friday....I went on the Friday and it brings it all back. I have a feeling that the whole gig was filmed (might be wrong) so that they could nail Saturday's camera angles etc.
look at it like this. At least thanks to Paul Rodgers and then Adam Lambert, Queen were at least able to tour again. I remember being a kid in the nineties looking at live at Wembley on VHS over and over and over again because I thought the concert was that fantastic, but also thinking to myself I will never be able to experience this live. fast forward to 2005 2006 and 2014 when Queen tour America with Paul Rodgers and falling in 2014 with Adam Lambert, and they performed this song to a new generation of fans who now get the opportunity to do the same hand clapping chorus that people were fortunate enough to experience Queen do in their heyday. they never claimed to be Freddie Mercury, no one can. But I'm grateful that they were able to breathe life into Queens surviving members that they were able to tour and give fans even a taste of what a Queen memory is
Damon Marable I watched a CZcams video of Adam Lambert singing this song in concert and the crowd was not clapping with their hands in the air. The original video of this song came out in the mid 80s which is how it got started, but unfortunately the young generation is not up to speed on crowd participation on this song.
What they see here was after live aid 85, the movie shows that this is the culminating point and in fact, it was not like that, in the year 86 Queen made the longest and largest tour of its history in open stadiums, filling crowds with all europe, premiering to kind of magic, the soundtrack album of the highlander movie, and here the music is really sounding like never before, they were really perfect live.
I was there. Best concert I will ever see. Clapping in time with - I don't know how many people - for Radio GaGa was astonishing. I felt invincible being part of that army of fans!
lucky u
Adam Wright if you watch the music video for Radio Ga Ga the clapping is in the video
I SOOOOOOOOOOOO ENVY YOU!!!!
Your were clapping with 72,000 other people
you deserve my nick name
freddie made us laugh, he made us cry and he made us feel like we could fly miss him.
Natalie Yates well said my friend, well said
Natalie exactly how ,I feel Freddie will live in my ❤️ 😗😭 till the day I die!
Freddie is very tired but did his best to make the people love it. What a legendary guy.

Listen to the first half of the tour
They were gonna do a mini tour in 1988 but then freddie informed them of his disease and they decided against it
Ive never seen adoration like that-- and Ive seen so many concerts. Not even Bruce....I mean Freddie's crowd is on their toes during entire show....its really like the crowd becomes one. What a fearless and charismatic performer. ❤😢
When he sings ''All we hear is Radio Ga Ga, Radio Go Go'' I'm just sitting here clapping along. Pure magic!
Greatest band of all time. Greatest singer that will ever live

Well you just lied a whole lot about this song. We all love the song, its power doesn't need your lies.

@@Fitzroyfallz They are extremely annoying. It's nice to see crowds fully engaged in the preformance, and not watching through a phone.
What a voice he had. I was lucky to see them back in the 70's in Miami and I was backstage which was really cool.
TheRindyrae How very lucky !
very lucky
When concerts were not ruined by a cellphone....I wish for those days again.
Paul Young why do cellphones hurt your feelings
@@sammyborhap it's called going to a concert to enjoy the music not worrying about getting a video of it

Queen at their best, On top of the world,
LeeDigs311 not that I don't love queen in the mid 80s but to me 77-80 was there very best. Just my opinion though
Isaac Garcia don't forget live aid in 85.
Isaac Garcia 1982 is their peak year vocal performance wise
What a kick ass live performance of Radio GaGa.. Rock on Freddie Mercury..

Should have put this one earlier in the set where the audience can be seen fully before dusk like Live Aid.
Freddie Mercury+Robert Plant = Two of the Greatest Vocalists of all time.
Everyone in Wembley is clapping in unison, EXCEPT for the girl with the red hat (3:17) sitting on someone's shoulders. I was waiting for someone to knock her down. Freddie & Roger sounded magnificent. Thanks for posting.
