    "Let's go ahead and get mic'd" is now the official catchphrase of the channel, there's nothing you can do about it.
    Re this mic, I'm really digging it. If I was in the market for a stage mic this would be on the short list... and most of the others would also be Behringers lol. They are just crazy value for the money.
    At this point it's pretty redundant but I'm putting in a request for reviews of the Behringer-brand Shure SM 57 and Sennheiser E906 -like mics that recently came out.

      enrique kahn hahaha I love it! I can definitely keep that catchphrase going!
      They really are great mics for the price! Just an insane value.

    Bought this one, and have e835 and e935, and on Behringer for my voice is just great (for me). Build quality is not amazing, but good, e935 is just another class - but sound from Behringer SB 78A mic is amazing! Especially vocal. I think it very depends on voice, but I like it a lot. You can't go wrong while cost is 45 bucks.

    I bought one of these, and the BA 85A, on B&H as soon as they dropped around Xmas last year. I had 2 XM8500 mics, as well as a Nady SCM 960, Sennheiser e609 S and a Shure SM57. As a metal musician, gotta stock up on things that make me sound pretty (or scary). Judging by this review, I can say I'm glad I bought one, despite having not used it yet. I should probably use it.

    Warm Audio ! U47 awesome , I don't think even Behringer would even try to touch that , would be interested if the Chinese factory could even manage it. What do you think their price would be ? As for me , I'm a realist and actually they don't make a mic better than the SM 48. It's functional, it works , it lasts and it doesn't break the bank. All other brands are Just money money money . Why would I spend more when I have something that gets the job done clearly ?

    Great review man! Just wondering, if you compare this mic to Rode M2 without comparing the build quality, which one do you prefer for sound quality? How much of the difference if there's any between these two?

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  Před 4 lety +1

      Franco Yao I prefer the sound of the M2 for sure, but it is 4 times more expensive than this... does it sound 4 times better? No, it doesn’t. Although, I would still absolutely recommend the M2 Over the SB 78a, if money wasn’t an issue. I think the SB 78A is a fantastic mic for the price and I feel the same about the M2. If price is a concern, I’d recommend seeing if you can find a good deal on a good condition used M2, and if it is still out of your price range then go for the SB 78A.

      @@AudioHotline Thanks for replying so soon man. In my country, now I can buy SM78A for 62.5USD and the Rode M2 for 91USD, is it still worth getting the SM78A for that price difference?

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  Před 4 lety +1

      Hahaha I hope they make one!

    • @gutpunchnews4000
      @gutpunchnews4000 Před 4 lety

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  Před 4 lety +2

      @@gutpunchnews4000 During the post-processing test I used the Universal Audio Precision De-esser plug-in. Sadly you can only use it if you have Universal Audio Hardware though. Another one I like a lot is the Accusonus Era De-esser. Very Simple, but sounds pretty solid. They have a pro version of it for like $300 that I am sure is great, but the $59 stripped down one works well.

      @enriquekahn9405 Před 4 lety +1

      I've also been predicting/hoping for a Behringer SM 7b clone. They just came out with SM 57 and Sennheiser E906 (guitar amp dynamic) clones, end address studio dynamic for voice seems the obvious next step and SM 7b seems the obvious choice given that they seem to take their cues (read: straight up copy) from Shure on their most successful mics.
      That said I'd actually rather see a whole series of Electro Voice RE family clones lol.

    Hi tell me how does this mic compare with the Blue Ember since both of them got an A? Can I use 4 of these for a podcast?

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  Před 4 lety

      cludford grades are based off of quality for the price. So this mic being half the price of a Blue Ember and getting the same grade, doesn’t mean it is the same quality, rather it got an A based off of its own price category. You could absolutely start a podcast with 4 these. I would say these might have some advantages over the blue ember in a podcast situation. For music, or even a single podcaster, I’d say the Blue Ember and I do think the Blue Ember sounds better overall... but the SB 78A will do better on noise rejection!

      Behringer is a german word, it means bear wrestler in english, someone who wrestles a bear. i guess then that brand name is pronounciated as the german name it is, the g in Behringer like the g in great or gold, not like the g in just or jealous.

    Whats your opinion on SM7B

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  Před 4 lety +3

      It is my favorite mic for dirty vocals, like screaming. There have been a few clean vocalists I used it on and absolutely hated the sound, and other clean singers I have loved it on. BUT most mics don’t fit EVERYONES voice. Overall though, I like it a lot. I have had one for years and have no intention of getting rid of it. It’s a good podcast mic too, but a mic activator is a good investment in that situation.
